It is unlikely that the interior of a kitchen in red and black colors can be called ordinary. Only freedom-loving, self-confident and extraordinary personalities that keep up with the times.

Red and black kitchen design

Decorating a kitchen in red and black begins with choosing a dominant tone. In the vast majority of cases, this role is assigned to the color red.

The drama and showiness of the red tone is emphasized by the black color that complements it, which gives the interior even more sophistication and originality.

When decorating a kitchen in red and black, it is not at all necessary to use only these two colors, since it will look quite aggressive. The role of the third color in such an interior is to distract attention from rich and deep tones and balance the color scheme of the interior.

An ideal complement to the combination of red and black colors will be light colors that visually expand the space and relieve the tension caused by the red and black color. It is enough to use them when decorating the floors, ceilings and walls of the room, and the drama of the kitchen will be diluted.

Warm shades of white will add warmth and comfort to such a room: pearl, creamy, beige colors, tea rose and ivory color.

A deep gray color will also perfectly complement the black and red interior, which will emphasize its style and uniqueness. But it's clean White color ceiling, walls or floor will give the room excessive severity and formality, so it is not advisable to use it.

Advice! To soften the black and red color scheme when decorating such a room, use frosted glass, mirror surfaces, as well as marble texture.

There are many options color combinations red and black kitchen sets: you can use a combination of a black bottom and a red top, and vice versa, or a checkerboard combination, or you can make only the countertop or a few parts in the interior black, which will give some restraint to the room.
The most ideal option is considered to be a combination of black bottom and red top.

A kitchen in such colors does not need pretentiousness, additional decor or unnecessary details. Everything should be concise and simple: clear and strict lines of the facades, chrome-plated steel fittings, a minimum of decorative finishing.

In the design of a black and red kitchen, you can combine different textures. For example, if you choose glossy red facades, they will beautifully reflect the black elements of the interior, and vice versa, the reflection of red details of a different texture in the black glossy facade will add even more originality and drama to the interior.

Lighting also plays a big role in such an interior: the better the room is lit, the more restrained and cozy the room will look.

Kitchen accessories should be selected in designs and colors that will complement and harmonize with other interior elements. Kitchen utensils that have a strict design and color that is as close as possible to the basic tones in the room will look best.

Wallpaper for a black and red kitchen

When decorating the walls, you should use light neutral tones that will balance the aggression of red and black. For such a kitchen, plain ones with a smooth texture in gray or beige tones are ideal, which will emphasize the advantages of the main background and its dominant place in the interior.

To make the kitchen look more comfortable, the contrast of colors in it must be minimized, using a muted shade of red and calm tones of white when decorating the walls of the room: the color of baked milk, pearl, cream, caramel.

This combination will ideally fit both into a laconic interior in the styles of minimalism and hi-tech, as well as into styles whose distinctive features are looseness and freedom (for example, avant-garde and retro).

You should avoid decorating walls with wallpaper with large patterns or ornaments: in this case, clumsiness and excessive congestion of the design cannot be avoided.

To divide the room into zones, which is most important for studio kitchens, you can use a combination of wallpaper of different colors.

Also in such a kitchen, the wall design looks original, combining wallpaper and textured decorative plaster.

Advice! Remember that the smaller the kitchen space, the more light colors should be present in the interior. Since red and black colors visually reduce space, when decorating walls, try to use calm, light colors as much as possible.

Apron

Curtains

Very important element The interior for such a kitchen are textile accessories, among which one of the main roles is assigned.

The color scheme of curtains for the room in red and black tones is selected based on how saturated these tones are in the interior.

Too bright and aggressive colors should be slightly smoothed out with curtains in a calm, light color scheme. And if the tones of the black and red kitchen are not too aggressive and saturated, you can choose red curtains.

Plain colors will look best in such a kitchen. light curtains, the color of which will harmoniously combine with other interior elements and the decoration of walls, floors and ceilings.

These can be curtains of milky, beige, pearl, light gray colors, which can be complemented with light tulle to match the curtains.

Textiles in neutral colors will make a room in red and black tones more cozy and sophisticated. Thanks to it, the kitchen space will visually increase and the room will not look heavy and cramped.

To give the interior a finished look and correctly place accents in it, choose other textiles to match the curtains.

For example, soft seats for kitchen chairs, as well as kitchen towels in light colors will make the interior of such a kitchen light and harmonious.

If you have a desire to dilute black and white interior, then add current fashionable shades to it. Happy renovation!

Of all the richness of the color palette of light kitchens, white remains the most popular color. This is a universal solution that always evokes associations with purity and nobility. White is aristocratic and versatile, so it can be used in any style. An apron for a white kitchen will help to emphasize the grace and beauty of such a set.

But in addition to design, it is necessary to remember that such an interior detail must be functional and practical, because this surface is subject to constant temperature changes and is often washed with special means. Finish options, like design ideas, there are quite a few.

Color solutions for finishing the kitchen working wall

Considering the absolute compatibility of white with all possible shades, the palette of the apron can be anything:

  • black, gray, dark brown will look original, but will attract all the attention, so you should choose beautiful materials: mosaic, glass with an image, stone and its imitation, mosaic of ceramic or glass tiles;
  • bright and rich tones of green, blue, pink, orange and other colors are appropriate here as nowhere else, but the choice is determined by the style of the entire interior and the prevailing shades in it;
  • A white apron in a white kitchen is also acceptable, although shades of milk, cream, and butter can be used to highlight the purity and natural shine of white.

White apron in a snow-white kitchen

A rather monotonous solution, which many may not like, when made from different types of materials it looks completely different, so it may not be worth abandoning it.

  • A practical solution would be ceramic tiles. It is easy to wash, it is heat resistant and is not affected by water or time. Tile manufacturers offer a lot of design options: pure white tiles can be decorated with an ornamental stripe, edging along the contour of the apron, its surface can imitate plaster or the texture of stone.
  • Mosaic aprons for white kitchens look original. They play with color, as the seams between small pieces of mosaic make the surface voluminous and textured, which ultimately dilutes the rather monotonous interior.
  • Glass wall decoration opens up new design possibilities kitchen interior. This material allows you to make even functional lighting the most decorative and unique solution. Of course, glass in pure white will be quite boring, but if you dilute it with a pearlescent tint or add a pattern that will not stand out from the monochrome palette, such an apron will be the most unexpected accent in the kitchen.
  • Less practical, but no less attractive, is an apron made of wood. Even when painted white, this material is distinguished by its natural beauty, which adds its own notes to the character of the interior. Thanks to the texture of the wood surface, the shade of white does not look too monotonous.
  • A kitchen apron in a white kitchen can also imitate brickwork, which can also be painted white. Such relief solutions add dynamism to any interior.

Colorful ideas and materials for their implementation

Modern finishing materials and their processing technologies make it possible to make wall decoration as bright and varied as your imagination allows. Any contrasting and rich color in absolutely any material will look bright and attractive against the background of a white set.

You can make a colored apron from the following materials:

  • tile;
  • glass;
  • mirror;
  • wood and MDF;
  • metal.

Classic ceramic tiles can be of any color and contain a variety of patterns that fit into the style of the interior. Most often this option is chosen for classic look kitchens.

More interesting solution The work wall is finished with wood, while preserving its natural pattern. This design fits perfectly into country, Provence, and eco-style. But a wooden apron for a bright kitchen, no matter how beautiful it is, remains the most impractical, as it absorbs moisture and odors, and at the same time suffers from excessive heat from the stove.

Glass provides enormous opportunities. You can transfer any image you like onto it using photo printing or paint it in any color. On such material, each shade becomes deeper and more voluminous. Thanks to well-organized lighting, the glass apron acquires special grace and volume.

Monochromatic solutions look bright, which against a white background makes such a wall an accent wall in the room. Photo printing, in turn, can significantly change finished interior. For example, antique-style panoramas of the city add charm and aristocratic sophistication to the white kitchen.

Photos of the night metropolis will emphasize the modernity and dynamism of the environment. Such an apron would be luxurious for a black and white kitchen, when the lower cabinets are in black and the upper ones in white. Then a photo of the city will highlight the composition and make the combination of shades even more intriguing. But they will also become less contrasting, since the apron will play the role of a transition from dark to white.

The mirror mosaic looks original against the background of white kitchen furniture. The shine of this material dilutes the monotony of the interior, adding more sophistication and mystery. However, ceramic mosaic also looks rich and varied even in monochromatic solution, although it would be more interesting to lay it out from black and white tiles or interspersed with colored ones.

Another non-standard solution would be to use metal to create an apron. Of course, a wall sewn up looks rather strange metal sheet, although designers also use this option. Metal work wall can imitate brickwork, be corrugated or aged copper ─ depending on the style of the interior and general imagination.

Ideas for dark aprons for a white kitchen

An apron for a white kitchen is often made in a dark shade. This solution is only acceptable if bright interior no other dark surfaces. In addition, the lighting of such a wall should be organized several times better than in the case of using light colors.

You can create a dark apron using various materials: from traditional ceramic tiles to painted glass or natural wood. The choice depends on the interior style, aesthetic preferences and, of course, operating conditions, since the wall is not always close enough to the source high temperature and sinks. Then you can use any material you like ─ even inexpensive plastic.

The color scheme of dark solutions is as diverse as in bright versions. There may be photographic images or just a solid dark wall. A glass apron with a macro shot of, for example, coffee beans will also be quite dark, but the depth Brown will look completely different than if the same glass were painted brown.

Dark shades of burgundy look beautiful against the background of a white kitchen. This noble solution will highlight the interior in a classic style. Such an apron is also suitable for a black and white kitchen, but then the interior should also contain other details in the same color.

A dark wood pattern on the entire working wall looks elegant. It can be imitated using photo printing on the selected material. This harmonious option for eco-style, Japanese minimalism and other interiors that use exclusively natural materials.

Conclusion

The versatility of white lies in absolute harmony with all other colors, which makes the possibilities for arranging such an interior varied and interesting for a rich imagination. In such a kitchen, the decision about choosing an apron should be made based on the characteristics of the style in which the interior is designed. It is also important to decide whether the work wall will be an accent wall, because if it is white against the background of white furniture, completely different details will attract attention.

The choice of material plays an equally important role. Glass aprons have become a recent trend, but metal solutions are also gaining popularity. But you shouldn’t chase fashion and not always appropriate extraordinariness, the main thing is to choose a harmonious option specifically for your white kitchen.

Finishing kitchen apron Does ordinary ceramic tiles, tempered glass with a standard photo print from a catalog or a plastic wall panel seem too boring to you? In this collection of photos you will find unusual, bright, stylish, but quite real and practical ideas design of aprons that are easy to implement in your kitchen. The material was prepared by the site Krasivayaplitka.ru.

1. Handmade ceramic tiles
Using unique finishing materials- one of fashion trends in interior design. Finish your backsplash with handmade and painted tiles. It will bring special warmth to the kitchen design, make the interior unique and emphasize your individuality.

Tiles by individual order It can be different - painted and plain, smooth and embossed. In terms of strength and practicality, it is in no way inferior to the factory one. But you can bring your ideas to life or choose an idea from a catalog.

This finish can be made to order in a ceramic workshop. But if your renovation budget is limited, take a closer look at factory ceramics collections. From many large manufacturers you can find ready-made tiles, which by appearance are difficult to distinguish from handmade ones. Of course, there are fewer design options; you will have to choose from what is available, but the cost is much lower.

2. Painted tiles
The most budget-friendly way to add some flair to a standard ceramic finishing- paint the apron with your own hands. With the help of special paints for ceramics, you can transform inexpensive plain tiles if you decorate them with an interesting design. Now imagine how much joy your inner child will get from the process!

Don't know how to draw? Use a stencil. It’s easy to make by printing out a picture you like from the Internet. You can fix the drawn image by applying 1-2 layers of transparent acrylic varnish on top. If you do everything correctly, you can admire the updated apron for at least two to three years.

3. Photo tile
Photo printing on tiles looks much more interesting than standard decors, not to mention a smooth, monochromatic surface. If the range of photo decors from ready-made collections does not inspire you, consider making custom photo tiles. There are several ways to transfer an image onto a ceramic surface. The most reliable and durable - using decal technology. It will cost more, but will last much longer than an apron with a pattern applied by sublimation.

4. Artificial stone
The relief textured surface of the decorative stone looks very impressive. But practical housewives who love to cook a lot may doubt the practicality of such finishing. Dust and greasy deposits easily settle on the textured surface. You can avoid problems with cleaning if you install a powerful hood and cover the surface of the stone with transparent acrylic varnish.

The optimal solution is to decorate part of the wall behind the slab small panel made of tempered glass, and decorate the rest of the apron with stone. Another good option is to use ceramic tiles under the stone: it has a less porous surface, which is easier to keep clean.

5. Lining and wood
Imitation wood looks great in laconic modern interiors, and in cozy kitchens in country style. If you want a kitchen with modern design, take a closer look at MDF wall panels finished with plastic, the structure of which resembles wood not only in appearance, but also to the touch. In a “rustic” interior, you can also use lining to finish the apron. The main thing is to treat it with an antifungal solution and cover it with a waterproof protective varnish.

6. Decorative plaster
Walls finished with this material are not much inferior in practicality to aprons made of tiles or glass, but only if you choose the right type of finish and strictly follow the technology of its application. In addition to the popular “Venetian” and “bark beetle”, decorative plasters many different design options. For example, for kitchens in the loft style, finishing with concrete-like plaster is ideal, and for country or Provence - a coating under old wall with craquelure.

7. Mirror panel or tile
The mirror surface has the super ability to visually enlarge a small space, giving it volume and depth. The mirror on the apron perfectly reflects light and makes a dark kitchen brighter. But there is also an obvious disadvantage - this type of finishing is suitable only for neat people. With such an apron, any mess on the work surface will be doubled, and fingerprints, drops of water and splashes of grease will be evident.

8. Brick or clinker tiles
The textured surface of red brick looks fantastic in combination with the smooth glossy facades of a white, beige or gray kitchen set. Thanks to the contrast of colors and textures, such an apron will add texture and expressiveness to even the most laconic interior. Recommendations are the same as for finishing artificial stone- cover the surface of the apron with transparent varnish, it will become easier to clean. Another option is to protect brick wall panel made of transparent tempered glass.

9. Wall panel stainless steel
The steel on the apron will fit perfectly into the design of kitchens in loft, minimalism and hi-tech styles and will complement kitchen set with modern design. If you don't like the look of aprons made entirely of metal, look at the photo below to see what small ones look like metal panels. Most often they cover part of the wall behind hob(this solution is especially practical for kitchens with gas stoves). The rest of the apron can be decorated with artificial stone, plastic, tiles, glass or painted with moisture-resistant paint.

11. Wallpaper
Wall coverings with eye-catching patterns or naturalistic imitation of wood, stone, fabric, brick are good for creating an apron with original design. In kitchens without upper cabinets, you can decorate the wall up to the ceiling in this way. Transparent will help extend the life of wallpaper strained glass. Optiwhite is best suited - it will cost about a third more than usual, but it does not have the characteristic greenish bottle tint, which can distort the color of the pattern on the wallpaper and ruin the entire impression of the apron.
