Before cocking the spring, estimate how many turns of the reel the rope should be wound. And this is despite the fact that the coil fits almost tightly to the starter cover and the spring there should certainly not dangle freely up and down, much less until the spring flies out of engagement. It turns out that when the cable is pulled, the spring is pulled out and pulled out of the groove. In this case, you can do the following: cut out a narrow strip of metal, the thickness of which could fit closely into the groove of the coil along with the hook of the spring itself. This way the hook will not dangle freely in the groove, which means it will not be so easy for it to break out.
