Installing a washbasin in the bathroom. Installation of sinks yourself: different types for different needs. Bathroom sink prices

One of the last stages in major renovation bathroom is equipping it with plumbing fixtures. When all the facing work is done, the owner will have to think through everything down to the smallest detail (how to position the bathtub and washbasin, where the mirror will hang, where personal hygiene items will be located, etc.).

Attaching the sink to the wall and connecting it to the water supply is very simple. This is exactly what the process of installing a sink in a bathroom may seem like at first glance.

Today you can choose a device for morning washing different sizes, shape, color, quality and price range. This is the first problem that a user will encounter when choosing a sink.

Difficulties may arise when installing the sink. The installation principle for all types and sizes of sinks is almost the same. However, before this, the most important thing is to decide on the size and location of the ceramic product. About how to install acrylic bath with your own hands, you can read it.

Choosing a place to place the sink

IMPORTANT: in pursuit of an extraordinary design, you must not miss the most important detail– functionality!

Before purchasing a plumbing product, you must take measurements of the bathroom and (highly advisable!) schematically depict its layout on a piece of paper. This will help you choose the size of the sink and determine its location.

If you choose some compact model, then splashes of water, one way or another, will always be on the walls and floor near the sink. The optimal width for a sink is considered to be 50-65 cm, but the choice still remains with the owner. If you buy a sink that is wider than the standard, then such a device will cause more inconvenience than it will bring benefit.

If the bathroom space is quite large, then you can even install a double sink. In this case, it must be taken into account that the distance between the central points of the sinks should not be less than 90 cm. Only with this arrangement will people using the washbasins at the same time not interfere with each other.

Another important point is the height of the sink. Since in most cases family members are of different heights, when choosing a place you also have to take this into account.

It will not be possible, for example, to place a sink above washing machine, because small children will not be able to use it. According to regulatory documents, the installation height of a sink for an adult should be 80 cm, for a child – 60 cm, for a teenager – 70 cm. The standard height for installing this ceramic appliance is considered to be a distance of 80-85 cm from the floor to the side.

Installing a wall-hung sink

Before you start installing the sink, you still need to decide at what distance from the floor it will be.

Stage one. At the selected height, applying a level, you need to draw a horizontal line - this will be the top of the sink. On the side where the bowl will come into contact with the wall, there are mounting holes. Having placed the sink against the wall parallel to the drawn horizontal line, you need to mark where the mounting holes will be located.

Stage two. In the designated places on the wall you need to drill holes, hammer in dowels and carefully screw the mounting pin into them. Mounting studs, dowels, nuts and plastic liners must be supplied with the sink.

IMPORTANT: the fastening pins must be screwed in such a way that the protruding part is greater than the thickness of the sink (plus 15-20 mm for screwing on the fastening nut).

Stage three. Before fixing the sink to the wall, you need to do. When the device is firmly screwed to the wall, this will be much more difficult to do.

1 - mounting pin,2 - hose for hot water, 3 - hose for cold water

To do this you need to do some preparatory work:

  • You need to screw a cold and hot water supply hose and a mounting pin into the mixer (in some mixers there are several such pins);
  • with help open-end wrench you need to tighten the water supply hoses completely (after fixing the mixer, you won’t be able to tighten them);
  • after threading the hoses through the special holes in the sink, the fastening pins must be secured with a sealing rubber band, tightened with a washer and tightened the fastening nuts;
  • Before tightening the nuts, it is necessary to adjust the direction of the mixer spout (it should be at an angle of 90 0 to the mounting wall).

Stage four. Now all that remains is to secure the sink with the faucet already screwed on. To do this, you need to put the sink on the mounting studs that protrude from the wall, insert the plastic liners and tighten the nuts tightly.

IMPORTANT: to avoid occurrence emergency situation, be sure to check the entire structure for strength after all operations, before connecting the cold and hot water hoses.

Stage five. When the sink is securely fixed, you need to connect the cold and hot water hoses to the plumbing system. It is recommended to use a rubber gasket between the tap and the nut to prevent water leakage.

Stage six. Installation and connection to the sewer system of a drain siphon. First you need to assemble the siphon, since it is recommended to connect all types of siphons as a rigid assembly. It is possible to use sinks with a soft corrugated pipe (nozzles with diameters of 32, 40 and 50 mm are available), however in the first case the connection will be more reliable.

When connecting a soft cone-shaped cuff with an outlet pipe, it is necessary to seal the joint between the siphon, the lining and the pipe. After installing the exhaust valve, the remaining sealant is carefully removed.

The plastic nut, which is located on the top side of the outlet pipe, is hand-tightened until it stops. The siphon itself is set at the desired angle to the sewer system, after which it is fixed at the desired height.

Installation of a sink with a pedestal (tulip)

If purchased ceramic product has a support leg or is mounted on a bedside table, you don’t have to choose the height of its placement.

First you need to install all the supporting elements (bedside table, support leg) on your permanent place, after which you can begin connecting to the sewer system.

It won't work with a pedestal special labor only when the drain socket is located at a height of at least 0.5 m, and sewer pipes hidden in the wall. Otherwise you will need to use additional materials(adapters, seals, corrugated pipes).

As in the case of a wall-hung sink, you first need to install the faucet and drainage system, and only then install the device. The pedestal is secured using the same mounting pins, sealing washers and nuts.

After installing a sink in the bathroom (regardless of the shape, type and size), you need to open the water and check the entire structure for leaks. If water oozes somewhere, then this place needs to be treated with sealant again.

During renovation, installing the sink to the wall in the bathroom is a critical step. This structure must be installed reliably so that there are no complications with the elimination of defects in the future. There are several fastening methods, which depend on the shape and size of the bowl.

At self-installation tools used:

  • hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • building level;
  • drill and bit;
  • spanners;
  • gas key;
  • marker;
  • sealing tape;
  • fasteners (anchor screws, consoles).

Necessary tools for installing a sink

There are two types of consoles - specialized and standard. The second ones are ordinary brackets, covered with a layer of paint on top. Suitable for conventional sinks. Specialized ones are coated with non-oxidizing metal. They perform protective function from corrosion. They have unusual shape, due to which they perfectly dilute the interior.

When choosing brackets, you should pay attention to the weight that they can support. This characteristic is indicated in the description of the fastener.

There are several types of brackets:

Mounting brackets for wall-hung basins

The most reliable is the girth. It is a metal frame. It is attached to the wall, then the sink is inserted into it. The frame allows you to change the size of the mount. This console has sector, rectangular or arc parts.

T- and L-shaped brackets have small sizes, compared to the previous ones. But they also securely fix the sink to the wall surface. In some cases, they are welded from a square pipe.

Faucet and washbasin assembly technology

Before starting work, old equipment is dismantled. For this:

  • water is blocked;
  • the mixer is disconnected and removed;
  • the siphon is removed and the water is drained from it;
  • the holes in the pipes are blocked with a plug;
  • The old sink is removed.

Mixer assembly

After dismantling the old equipment, the sink is fixed to the wall:

  • trying on the sink;
  • marking is carried out;
  • holes are made for fasteners;
  • a sink is installed;
  • The mixer is being assembled;
  • communications are connected (water supply and sewerage).

Installing a washbasin bowl

The sink is placed on the surface and tried on. It is placed at a height convenient for use. The best option there will be a mark of 0.8 m from the floor level. And from the wall to the edge of the sink there should be at least 0.9 m. Marks are placed at a given height.

Before connecting communications, the reliability of the fastenings is checked. Connecting the mixer consists of the following steps:

  • applying a special chemical solution to the contact point between the faucet and the sink;
  • assembling all elements into one unit using tabs and seals;
  • connection to flexible pipeline hoses using union nuts and adapters. In this case, the hoses are pushed into a special opening in the sink, and after fastening, the mixer is put in place;
  • fixing the device from below with a lining and a pressure washer.

The mixer should take a stable shape after installation. The axes of the device entering the couplings must be joined. It should be remembered that the sink is already attached together with the mixer, which will greatly facilitate installation. But first, markings are made for attaching the sink with or without brackets.

Installation dimensions

Mounting options

There are several options for attaching a washbasin to the wall. Everyone decides for themselves which one is suitable based on the ease of performing the work.

Without brackets

Small washbasins are attached to the wall with anchor screws. After marking, holes are made. To do this you need to do:

  • A hole is punched at the marked points using a hammer and nail. This will make it easier further work, when drilling tiles;

Before starting work, you need to mark the mounting points on the wall.

  • holes are made with a drill. Their diameter should be slightly smaller size dowel used;
  • a drop of glue is poured into the holes and dowels are driven in;
  • The anchor screws are screwed in with a wrench until they stop.

Mounting kit for wall-hung sink

When choosing an anchor, you need to consider its size. It should go into the wall at least 30 mm, because a layer of plaster, drywall or other soft material simply will not support the weight of the sink. Mounting anchors are selected from 50 to 120 mm.

For a small sink, the distance between the fasteners is 280 mm

It is necessary to use only plastic dowels, which must be secured in the hole, because wooden ones will dry out due to constant contact with water. In this case, the sink may fall. After securing the anchor, the reliability of the fastening is checked. The screws must not turn. Only after this can the device be mounted on the mounts. But these anchor screws are suitable for small sinks.

How to properly attach a sink

On brackets

It is advisable to mount more massive products on consoles. The technology for drilling holes and fastening consoles is the same as for anchor screws.

Installing a sink on brackets

Bracket mounting technology:

  • a horizontal line is drawn (maximum mark of the sink location);
  • The thickness of the washbasin walls is measured. The resulting value is plotted down from the horizontal line. The resulting line shows the mounting height of the brackets;
  • brackets are mounted on the sink;
  • fitting is performed;
  • holes are drilled in the wall, dowels are driven in;
  • brackets are installed;

Screwing in the mounting brackets

  • The washers are tightened and the strength of all fasteners is checked.

When installing a sink on brackets, it is advisable to have an assistant. This will ensure that the device is installed as level as possible. After fixing the sink with mixer to the wall, the connection to the water supply and sewerage is carried out. Finally, the part of the sink that is in contact with the wall, as well as all pipe joints, are treated with sealant.

Washbasin mounted on brackets

Connection to water supply and sewer systems

When connecting the mixer to the water supply, you must ensure that the hoses do not get twisted. Flexible hoses are connected to the water supply as follows: to the right - cold, to the left - hot. The connection is made with nuts and tightened with an adjustable wrench.

Connection to the sewerage system is carried out in stages:

  • attaching the siphon to the washbasin;
  • screwing a corrugated or rigid pipe to a siphon;
  • inserting pipe into sewer drain. If necessary, use an adapter if the 2 pipes to be connected have different diameters.

After installation, check the siphon for leaks

After connection, the system is checked for leaks. When installing, do not overtighten the connections, as this can damage the sealing gaskets. You need to check the system for reliability: tug on all attached parts. They should not creak or twitch.

Advantages of wall mounting

Opt for wall mount worth it due to the following advantages:

  • reliability - this is ensured by the fact that brackets or consoles made of enameled steel are quite durable materials. They secure the device with high quality;
  • ease of maintenance - after installing the sink, constant access to communications is provided. This makes it possible to clean the siphon or remove any part and attach it back;
  • additional space - free space appears under the sink, which allows you to place various drawers for household items, a basket for dirty laundry or other items. This often helps out in cramped bathroom conditions;
  • minimalism in the interior - creating a wall-mounted structure allows you to get rid of various cabinets and shelves. Due to the variety of shapes and materials of shells, such a design will seem to float in the air.

Mounting the sink directly to the wall in the bathroom is good decision. Mounting is quite simple, and the cost of fasteners is affordable. Such designs do not clutter up the space and allow you to use the space under the sink.

Types of shells by shape

Depending on the size of the bathroom, the appropriate size of the washbasin is selected. There are several types of shells:

  • tulip;
  • sink console;
  • built-in

Built-in

Sink tulip

Console sink

The tulip sink is a structure consisting of a bowl and a stand. The stand is designed to hide the siphon and pipes. This option fits harmoniously into the interior of the room, but is installed in spacious rooms. Fastening is carried out simultaneously to the wall surface and to the floor.

The console sink is attached to the wall surface with brackets. This option allows you to visually expand the space, because the device takes up little space. In small rooms, fastening is practiced corner product, which also fits compactly into cramped conditions. The disadvantage is the visible drainage system. But the problem can be solved by installing special overlays.

Built-in options are mounted in a cabinet or table in the bathroom. At the bottom, a convenient cabinet is formed that hides communications and provides space for storing household supplies. Overhead washbasins that are installed on the countertop are popular. They have the shape of a bowl and unusually complement the bathroom interior. But this installation option takes up a lot of space in the bathroom, so many people opt for a wall mount.

Varieties by material

According to the material they are distinguished:

  • metal;
  • glass;
  • ceramic;
  • marble.

Ceramic

Metal

Marble

Glass

Metal ones are the strongest and most durable. But they should be used carefully because they are prone to scratches. When a stream of water hits a sink, noise occurs, which is why the use of such a stainless steel product is rare.

Glass washbasins perfectly complement the interior. They occupy one of the first places in unusual and beautiful solutions in design. But high price, the difficulty of cleaning stops many from purchasing this product.

Ceramic washbasins are the most practical. Price policy affordable, and care does not take much time. Porcelain products will last longer than earthenware, but their cost will be significantly higher.

Marble products are even more expensive, but also appearance more effective than ceramic ones. The disadvantage of marble is that it is difficult to maintain, because the porous structure of the surface accumulates dirt, which is difficult to remove.

In any functional bathroom, in addition to the bath itself, there should be a sink. And this is not only for convenience, but also for aesthetic purposes. The installation of the sink must be carried out efficiently, because your safety will depend on it, and you don’t need quarrels with your neighbors below about flooding. For this reason, pay due attention to the installation of the sink, so as not to encounter unforeseen financial difficulties in the future.

Classification of shells

Modern sinks have the most various designs. They can consist of one or two sinks, installed on a countertop or pedestal, where communications and a siphon are “hidden”. There is also a semi-pedestal in which the drain outlet structure is fixed. Some sinks are equipped with fastening elements, so the choice of one or another installation method largely depends on the characteristics of the product.

You may be interested in information about how

We are interested in the classification based on installation technology, it looks like this:

  • attached to cabinet;
  • products installed on brackets;
  • on pedestal;
  • on special hanging shelf, mounted on the wall.

When buying a sink in a store, pay attention to its dimensions (they range from 30 to 300 centimeters in width), as well as how a particular model fits general style bathroom. Another important criterion- this is strength.

What will be required at work

  1. Actually, a sink.
  2. Silicone based sealant.
  3. Adjustable wrench, wrench.
  4. Dowels.
  5. Screwdriver.
  6. Screwdriver (if not, use a regular drill).
  7. Self-tapping screws (if possible, then with anti-corrosion coating).
  8. Pencil.
  9. Winding.

Removing an old sink

The first stage of work will be removing the old sink.

Important! Before you begin the dismantling procedure Necessarily the water should be turned off.

First, unscrew the nuts that secure the mixer. Then disconnect the liner and remove the mixer. Remove the siphon connecting the sink to sewer system– unscrew the nuts (they are located at the bottom), remove the siphon itself and pour water out of it. If you plan to replace it with a new one, then disconnect it from the drain and then temporarily plug the hole with something (a rag, for example) so that unpleasant odors do not penetrate into the apartment. Finally, remove the sink from its mountings.

Bracket mounting technology

Today, brackets are considered the most popular method of installing a sink. Let's consider the technology of such installation.

Stage 1. Draw a line parallel to the floor surface at a height of about 80 centimeters. This is the base mark from which you will make further calculations. It is at this height that sinks are often installed.

Stage 2. Using a tape measure, measure the thickness of the sink wall that will be adjacent to the wall surface. The resulting figure is the distance that needs to be measured from the base line down and draw another line there. This is where the brackets will be attached. Measure the distance between the brackets and mark their position on the line. The resulting marking is projected onto the base line on the wall.

Stage 3. Place the brackets on the base line, mark where they will be attached and drill holes there. Insert dowels into the holes and secure the brackets to the wall.

Stage 4. The sink is attached to the installed brackets according to the attached manufacturer's instructions.

As we see, there is nothing complicated here if everything is available necessary tools and a natural “eye monitor”. Now all you have to do is connect the remaining elements - the mixer and the siphon, but we will talk about this later.

Installing a sink on a cabinet

No less in a known way installation can be called installing the product on a cabinet. This method is characterized by the fact that the installed sinks have a wide variety of shapes and designs. It's practically universal method, hence its popularity.

To begin with, you make a cutout in the tabletop, but further installation depends entirely on the features of the model, as well as on your wishes. So, you can install your sink on the countertop itself, or deep in the cutout.

Place the product in the resulting cutout and mark the points for future fasteners. Remove the sink and drill holes according to the marks, then put the product back and secure it with bolts. As you can see, the technology is simple; we will only note the methods of attaching the mixer. It can be attached:

  • to the cabinet;
  • to Wall;
  • to the sink;
  • to a special stand.

Important! If you wish, you can decorate the sink yourself using real stone or smalt. The only limitation will be your imagination.

Installing a sink on a wall-hung shelf

The hanging shelf is designed not only to distribute the load from plumbing, but also to hide all elements of the system and additionally serve as storage space detergents. In a word, function hanging shelf the same as the brackets, there are only a few additional options.

Installation technology

Stage 1:

  • Mark the level where the sink will be located.
  • Place the sink on it and mark where the fastenings will be. Drill mounting holes.
  • Insert plugs for dowels into them, place the sink and secure it.

Stage 2. Mark the fastenings for the shelf. Without removing the shelves, mark on it where the drain hole will be. You also make holes for all the necessary water pipes.

Important! In this case, the mixer is installed before the shelf is installed.

Stage 3. Drill holes in the wall and attach the shelf, making sure the drain hole lines up with the corresponding hole in the shelf. Use dowels for fastening.

Mounting a pedestal sink

The beautiful pedestal mounted sink is very easy to use and looks amazing. The installation procedure for the pedestal + sink duo is easy, but requires some conditions.

  1. Sewer pipes must be hidden in the wall.
  2. The height of the drain socket must be at least 50 centimeters.

Here you also install a sink, a siphon and a mixer, only after that attach the pedestal to special studs, pre-mounted into the wall.

Important! If the sink is glass, be extremely careful when installing it so as not to break it!

Installing a corner sink

If the bathroom area is small, then it is more advisable to install a corner sink. This way you make the most of free space. The technology for installing a corner sink consists of several stages.

Stage 1. Take the corner sink and place it in the place where it will be installed. If the sink will stand on a cabinet, then first place the cabinet and the sink on it. If there is no stand, then install it at a standard height of 80 centimeters from the floor. You lean the sink and mark with a marker where the fastenings will be. You can play it safe and measure everything with a tape measure to make sure the dimensions are correct.

Stage 2. Based on the markings, drill the mounting holes and place plastic plugs in them. Then you lean the product again and tighten the dowels.

Stage 3. Connect the siphon and mixer.

Connecting the mixer and siphon

Now, as mentioned above, we will look in more detail at the features of installing these components. They are connected to sewerage and water supply (both hot and cold).

Important! Siphon is a special valve designed to drain water from the sink and prevent water from entering the apartment. unpleasant odors from the sewer.

Siphon connection procedure It’s simple: first connect the drain to the sink, then insert it into the drain hole. After this, seal all joints with sealant so that no unpleasant sewer smell leaks into the room.

The only problem that may arise is the installation of the mixer, but this can be dealt with without the help of specialists. For work you will need:

  • hose for connecting to water supply;
  • fum tape as a sealant.

Stage 1. At the ends of the hoses, attach special rubber rings, the so-called gaskets, which completely eliminate the possibility of leakage.

Stage 2. Connect the hoses to the mixer. Do this carefully, with extreme caution. Screw the hoses into the mixer all the way.

Stage 3. After connecting the hoses, mount the faucet on the sink. All fastenings are carried out using special clamps, which are often included with the mixer (if they were not included in the kit, buy them at one of the hardware stores). There are models that are fastened with nuts; they do not require clamps.

After this comes the installation of the sink itself, we have already talked about this.

Conclusion

If you decide to install the sink yourself, then you will have the opportunity to decide for yourself what the structure and each of its elements in particular will look like. A wide range of shapes will allow you to create a true miracle in the bathroom, which will delight the eye of everyone who enters it.

Let's sort it out step by step installation undermount sink under the tabletop. Together we will assemble a drainage system under the sink and connect it to the water supply in the bathroom.

Step 1: Installing taps for inlet and mixer

Installing a bathroom sink begins with removing the caps from the water outlets that are located at the outlet from the wall. After this, we screw on the taps for supplying hot and cold water, first wrapping the FUM threaded connection with tape or tow with paste. In order for the faucet to fit tightly to the wall, the seal must cover all the threads. After tightening, the holes in the corner taps for the flexible hose should point upward. Turn the valves as shown in the photo. To save money, you don’t have to make separate taps, but then if a water leak is detected, you will have to turn off the entire water supply, and not just one of the taps.

We put the sink in place, level it and draw the outline with a pencil.

We connect flexible water hoses for hot and cold water. As a rule, the standard eyeliner included is short, so you have to buy it separately. When assembling, do not forget to install a gasket and a thin rubber band to prevent water from leaking from the tap. We pass the faucet with the hoses wound through the hole, install a rubber and metal washer alternately on the back side of the sink, screw the pin into the faucet and the nut, and tighten it. Mixer.

Step 2: Attaching the Sink to the Countertop

Next, to install the sink in the bathroom, coat the entire outer part of the edge of the opening with white silicone sealant without going beyond the circle outlined in pencil. This way, the silicone will not protrude beyond the sides of the sink and will fix it from the inside, creating a reliable gasket.

After applying the silicone, return the sink to its original place, placing it strictly along the marked line, and press it tightly. Wipe off excess silicone with a damp cloth.

Step 3: Sealing the Sink Joints

Let's start sealing the joints between the sink and the countertop. To do everything as carefully as possible and not to smear the sealant over the entire surface, we tape the circle around the sink and the side of the plumbing with masking tape.

Coat the joint with silicone and smooth the seam with your finger or a plastic spatula.

Remove the tape and carefully remove excess silicone with a damp cloth. The top installation of the inset sink is completed, let's move on.

Step 4: Connecting flexible hoses to the water supply

We have already connected the flexible hoses to the faucet, it's time to connect them to the outdoor water supply. To wrap the faucet, we do not use FUM tapes or tow with paste, since there is a sealing rubber. We manually screw the hoses alternately to the cold and hot water taps. Flexible wiring is fully installed.

Step 5: Installation of the bottom drain

Let's start installing the bottom drain. A chrome-plated bottom valve was selected for installation German manufacturer Gro Welle. On the side of its neck there is a hole for an overflow. If the water in the sink is higher than the set level, it will flow out through the overflow.

We assemble the system; the opening of the neck and overflow must match.

We place one silicone gasket on top of the neck.

We screw the second silicone gasket from below onto the thread of the nut.

Tighten the connecting nut well using a wrench.

Finally, screw the bottom drain plug into place.

Step 6: Assembling and connecting the siphon

In front of you are the siphon parts, we are assembling the structure.

We connect the glass with the cup holder, not forgetting to put on the sealing gasket. We put the seal on evenly, without distortions, to prevent leakage. We put a union nut and a cone gasket on the pipe connecting the neck, insert the structure into the upper hole of the siphon and tighten it. We connect the corrugation, put on the nut and cone gasket, and tighten it moderately.

We screw the siphon onto the neck nut, not forgetting about the gasket.

Pull up threaded connections siphon, straighten the corrugation as needed and remove its pipe into the sewer drain.

When carrying out repairs, you often have to deal with replacing plumbing elements, in particular the sink. This is an indispensable element of modern bathrooms and kitchens, intended for hygienic procedures, the task of which is to receive water from the plumbing system and drain waste water into the sewer system.

Before installing the sink yourself, you need to carry out preparatory work, make necessary measurements and calculations, purchase necessary equipment and tools.

Preparing to install the sink

The mounting height of the sink should be within 80-85 cm. This parameter is as convenient as possible for the operation of the structure. This height must also be taken into account when choosing other related components, for example, a cabinet or a stand for a bowl.

The choice of location for installing the future sink is also important. It is important to select a location taking into account the placement of water supplies. In this case, it is necessary to provide for the placement of the mixer and taps. The method of attaching the sink bowl can be as follows:

  • on brackets;
  • on the stand;
  • on a special shelf.

Step 1. Before installing a sink in the bathroom in this way, you need to measure the required height from the floor surface and draw a horizontal line with a marker at its level. This will be the level of the top of the device.

On the back side of each sink there is a flat part made to tightly fit the product to the supporting wall. The distance from the top to the bottom edge of this plane will be equal to the distance that needs to be measured from the line down on the wall.

Draw another line at this level. Both lines must be checked for horizontality using an appropriate device.

Step 2. Next, you need to measure the distance between the mounting holes of the brackets on the very back flat part of the sink. Having measured the distance, you need to mark it with dots on the upper markings drawn on the wall.

The symmetry of these marks can be leveled by starting from the drain hole as the center.

Step 3. This is followed by the stage of attaching the brackets, intended for installing the sink structure on them. The brackets are fastened using spanner wrenches - they tighten the fastenings from below.

Step 4. After installing the brackets, it is important to check the strength of the fastening, and then proceed with the installation of the remaining structural elements - the siphon and the mixer.

During the entire work, you need to strictly control the horizontal placement of the sink and all components.

Installing a sink in a bathroom, which includes a stand, is done in a similar way. Some designs involve the use of a so-called half-pestal.

This design ensures that the stand is not a load-bearing element, but only performs a decorative function. This is how the supporting wall holds the sink. How to mount a sink on a wall was discussed earlier.

When installing a stand for the structure, there is no need to use additional sealing gaskets. The fastening elements should not be over-tightened when installing the sink to the wall. The fastener kit usually includes polymer spacers that need to be placed under the support washers.

A “tulip” shaped sink has its own installation nuances, but general outline similar to previous works. To install it you will need a certain set of tools:

  • drill;
  • fasteners;
  • siphon;
  • mixer;
  • marker.

Before installation, you need to place the sink on a stand and gradually, carefully move it close to the supporting wall, after using shock-absorbing pads.

Then you need to level the horizon with a level and draw a line at the level of the upper part adjacent to the wall of the structure.

Then you need to drill holes and install all the elements. When installing the stand leg in place, you need to use the same shock-absorbing pads. They are needed to ensure that the bowl rests on the leg and prevent the support from coming into contact with water. Joints and joints should be treated with silicone sealant.

Installing a sink in non-standard locations

Some rooms or features of the arrangement of objects in it do not contribute to the standard placement of the sink. Sometimes you need to install the structure above washing machine, For example.

Such an installation is possible, only with it it is necessary to provide for the presence of a water drain not in the center of the structure, but on the side. Such an installation, in addition to the features of the sink, must also take into account the features of the washing machine.

Loading laundry should be done horizontally, and the height of the machine should not be higher than the comfortable height for a person to use the sink, which is planned to be attached to the top. It is extremely difficult to use standard drain designs in such conditions and is not recommended.

A sink installed in the kitchen increasingly assumes that the design will be mortise. One of the popular phenomena has been the use of stone countertops for this purpose.

Mounted devices have recently expressed their popularity and look impressive in an exclusive design modern interiors. Ready-made cabinets for systems or wall-mounted sinks do not require much trouble with installation, but the mortise design requires special attention.

When installing a mortise sink, you need to take into account all the necessary dimensions and make markings. Next, cut the hole using a jigsaw. The edges of the countertop inside the hole need to be treated with sealant, and then the same procedure must be done after installing the sink.

Then you need to install the mixer and siphon, connecting them to the water supply and sewerage pipes.
