Washbasin for a summer residence - Beautiful options for the landscape! (76 photos). Bottle washbasin for a picnic DIY country washbasin ideas

Each owner of a summer cottage tries to create comfortable conditions on his estate. This is especially true for residents big cities, who are accustomed to the benefits of civilization at hand. In addition, at the dacha you need not only to relax, but also to work, and if you do not have running water, then you will encounter certain difficulties. We will tell you how to make a washbasin in your country house with your own hands.

Choosing the right place for the washbasin

If you plan not only to come to your dacha in the evenings, but also to live on it for several days in a row, then you need a constant supply of water. Waking up in the morning, it’s so nice to wash your face with cold water, drive away sleep and cheer up so that you can get to work with renewed vigor.

Most often we are faced with a lack of running water and sewerage in summer cottages. Of course, you can drill a well yourself and provide your estate with an almost complete water supply, but this is a labor-intensive and expensive task, and, moreover, far from paying off, especially given the fact that you will only use it in the warm season. In winter, without control, pipes can freeze, burst, or even simply fall into the hands of unreliable social elements.

Therefore, we will opt for a simple, light and familiar washbasin design - moidodyr. The first thing you need to decide is where this washbasin will be installed - in the yard or inside the house?

Find comfortable spot in the yard for a washbasin

It would be best to make or purchase a structure that can be left in the yard or garden in the summer, during hot weather, and brought indoors when cold weather sets in. This way you don’t have to set up sewerage and water supply. The only thing left for you to decide is where exactly to put the moydodyr.

The washbasin should be in an accessible place so that you can use it at any time. If you like warm water, install the structure on the sunny side so that the water-containing container warms up well. However, many people believe that it is better to place the washbasin in the shade, especially if the container is made of plastic.

Well, and one more important question, which washbasin to choose? It all depends on your personal preferences and capabilities. Washbasins are:

  • liquid;
  • hanging;
  • counter-mounted washbasins with cabinet;
  • heated washbasins.

Each of these washbasins can be used as a portable one, or can be firmly fixed in a certain place. If you don’t want to bother, then any type can be purchased at the store. But making it yourself, especially using improvised materials, is not only much cheaper, but also more fun.

We use improvised means

Even if you only have plans to create a moydodyr at your dacha, you will still have to wash your hands and face. In this case, the simplest, portable option will come to our aid - a plastic bottle with a volume of 1.5 liters or more. Cut off the bottom, turn it over and attach it to a wire to a tree branch, fence, etc. Water is poured in from above and warms up quite well. You can make a full-fledged washbasin by attaching holders for soap, toothpaste and brushes.

Scheme of a washbasin made from a plastic bottle

So that the water from such a bottle does not flow constantly, but when it is needed, you can use several devices.

  1. The easiest way is to nail the cork. Make a hole in the center of the bottle cap and insert a nail into it so that the cap remains inside. Screw the plug tightly. The disadvantages are that water leaks, and this causes the nail to rust, and besides, it is not very convenient to wash your hands with such an inconsistent water supply.
  2. The second method is easier to use. A hole is made on the side of the lid. When the lid is unscrewed, water begins to flow as much as you need. Screw the lid and the water will stop. The disadvantage of this method is that it is not very easy to control the sufficient level of unscrewing so that the lid is not completely torn off.
  3. The third method is also simple: you can attach a faucet, for example, from washing machine, to the neck of the bottle with electrical tape. The water will flow as you need, and you can be sure that the faucet will not fall off if it is fixed well.
  4. The same faucet (or a purchased one from a hardware store) can be attached to a plastic container with a volume of 5 liters or more. To do this, just drill a hole of the required diameter and fix the faucet in it. A tin or enamel bucket as a container is also perfect.

Such homemade washstands can be decorated with various designs using improvised materials. Children will be very happy to have the opportunity to contribute their imagination and effort to a common cause.

What can you make a washbasin from in your country house?

More complex washbasin design

Such a washbasin will be heavier, which means it needs to be installed on permanent place. This also means a place for drainage, which, however, can be replaced with a bucket or basin. The accumulated used water can be used for watering small flower beds or beds.

So, you will need:

  • large capacity (bucket, canister, can with a volume of 10 liters or more);
  • drive;
  • tap gaskets;
  • clamp nuts;
  • faucet for water supply.

Mark a hole on the container. It should not exceed the diameter of the drive. Depending on the material of the container, knock out, drill or cut a hole and place the squeegee in it.

Place rubber gaskets on both sides of the bend and secure with nuts on both sides. Now install the faucet and your garden washbasin is complete. When placing it on the site, pay attention to the soil at the installation site. If you do not plan to do drainage to cesspool or in the garden, be sure to pour several buckets of gravel under the sink. This will protect you from dirty puddles.

Use a large plastic barrel for the sink

If you are not constrained by time and money, you can make a more practical and thorough country washbasin using the same scheme. For it you will need:

  • tank and plumbing fittings;
  • sink the right size from suitable material;
  • materials for the frame or connecting the tank with the sink into one structure;
  • materials for water supply and drainage.

Build a frame of metal and wood, taking into account the dimensions of the tank, sink and hoses. Install all the elements into the finished frame and connect them to the water supply and drainage system. If you were planning a pour-over sink, then connecting to the water supply may not be required.

Choosing a reliable water container

If your plans are to make a washbasin with a cabinet, then you should not make a water container yourself from improvised means - you will only waste time, and such a design will not look aesthetically pleasing. A ready-made tank with a built-in tap is inexpensive and looks much more beautiful.

The optimal container volume for a washbasin is 10-20 liters. It makes no sense to take a smaller one, but a larger one is suitable for country shower. As a tank for a sink, it will be too bulky, and the water in it may stagnate.

Pay attention to the material from which the container is made. Give preference to a stainless steel washbasin; it is durable and resistant to damage. Plastic is lighter and cheaper, but it can crack from impact, especially if it is filled.

The shape of the washbasin is also very important. The pressure of water flowing out of the faucet directly depends on it. If the container is not high and is in a horizontal position, then water will flow out in a thin stream. As we remember from school course physics, the higher the column of the container, the greater the pressure. Therefore, it is better to choose a tank with an elongated shape. The best option is a washbasin with a non-flat bottom that slopes towards the faucet.

Choose your tank containers carefully

There is no need to remind you that the tap should be located as close to the bottom of the tank as possible. Nowadays, washbasins in which the valve tap is located on the front wall are becoming increasingly popular. The pressure from it will be lower than from a washbasin with a volume of up to 5 liters with a pressure tap. In such a tank, water pressure is lost due to the location of the tap. Due to loss of pressure, water will have to be added to the container frequently. Therefore, choose a model with the lowest possible location of the tap.

Making a cabinet for a moist hole yourself

Perhaps you still have a Soviet-style sink from old times. It fits perfectly under a standard tank and sink. In this case, you will only need to clean it, paint it, and maybe add a couple more elements to the structure. Well, if there is no such sink, then you can easily make the frame yourself. For it you will need wooden blocks with a section of 50X50 - 80X80 mm or steel corners 25X25-40X40 mm.

The optimal height of the cabinet on which the sink will be located is no more than 1 m. Take a corner or beam and cut 4 sections of 85 cm each. The size of the cabinet frame should be such that the sink fits easily on its edges, so carefully measure the structural elements.

Modern models of moidodyrs

Cut 8 pieces of timber (angle) to fit the size of the sink. As a rule, this is 50 cm. Assemble the frame and fix it: knock it down if you used timber, and weld it if you used a metal corner.

Please note: use the inner edges of the frame as a guide since the sink will be placed on them. After manufacturing, the steel frame must be primed and painted to avoid rust.

The frame of the cabinet can be sheathed with the following materials:

  • plywood board;
  • wooden plank;
  • polycarbonate;
  • steel sheets;
  • plastic panels.

To prevent plywood and wood from becoming unusable after getting wet on the street, coat the structure with varnish. Cover the back wall and sides of the cabinet completely, firmly fixing the material to the frame. At the front, hang a door made of the same material as the frame on its hinges.

Make the floor in the cabinet from boards, leaving gaps of about 1 cm between them so that spilled water goes into the ground and air circulation is ensured.

Additional washbasin elements

You don’t have to limit yourself to the frame of the sink cabinet. To make it convenient to use the washbasin, attach a countertop to it, which can serve as a drying rack for dishes.

  1. The dryer can be attached on either one or both sides. To do this, take wooden boards with a cross section of 25 X 15 mm and knock them down so that you get a dryer in the form of a lattice. The distance between the boards should be 1.5-2 cm.
  2. You can make a two-level dryer. To do this, make another frame at a height of 35 cm above the ground and put boards on it.
  3. Be sure to varnish the dryer so that it does not delaminate over time and does not deteriorate from moisture.
  4. For the countertop, take a plastic or wood slab and place it on a frame made to fit the slab.

You can make the frame for the washbasin yourself

We talked above about how to organize drainage of water from the sink. You can use a regular bucket for this purpose. This is especially good if you wash not only your hands, but also vegetables and fruits, as well as dishes with leftover food. Thus, there will be organic residues of products in the water, and such slops can be sent to compost heap for humus.

If food scraps and food debris will not be dumped into the sink, you can connect a corrugated pipe to the drain hole and lead it to the drain.

Video about installing a washbasin in a summer cottage

Now your garden plot is equipped with a convenient and functional washbasin. We hope that our tips will help you make it quickly and easily. Tell us about your experience in making country washbasins. Have a warm summer and easy work!

In this article we will tell you how to make a washbasin for your dacha with your own hands, consider various options, and also show photos and video instructions for creating an outdoor washbasin.

The washbasin should be:

  • simple;
  • multifunctional (so you can not only wash your hands);
  • convenient.

If your dacha does not yet have a washbasin, then please read this article carefully. In fact, there are more than enough ways to make a homemade washstand.

From a plastic bottle

Simplest, a budget option. This could be a 1.5 liter bottle or a 5 liter bottle. First you need to cut off the bottom. Then, using a clamp or aluminum wire, secure it to some vertical plane. The role of the dispenser in this case will be played by the lid itself. We put some water in the container, and it will flow in a thin stream when we slightly open the lid. The result is the simplest – and it couldn’t be simpler – wall-mounted washbasin. That's all the wisdom of this washstand.

With faucet

This permanent structure is more complex, so its manufacture will require at least basic knowledge of plumbing. It will be good if in your household by chance there will be a small 6-liter plastic (soft plastic) can with a wide neck or any other suitable container. This time we will have to spend money on purchasing accessories for the future washbasin. You will need:

  • drive;
  • water supply tap;
  • two rubber gaskets;
  • two nuts;
  • two washers.

The work will not require professional skills. It's simple: drill a hole in the bottom of the can to match the diameter of the drive (the lower, the better). We insert the drive itself into the hole with the side where there are more threads, install washers on both sides, and then gaskets and clamp them with nuts on both sides. After this, we screw on the faucet, having previously wound a linen winding coated with a special impregnation onto the squeegee clockwise and that’s it, the washbasin is ready.

All that remains is to choose for him suitable cabinet or a stand pre-attached from four wooden blocks. Having secured the can to this structure, fill it with water. And now you have a more civilized option for a larger volume of liquid in the country washbasin and, moreover, with a tap for water supply.

In that simple version You can do without a washbasin without flushing. For example, take a 10-liter galvanized bucket. We will need:

  • two rubber gaskets;
  • screw;
  • brass pin-type water tap;
  • drill attachment.

The work is simple: in the lower part of the bucket, using a nozzle, we drill a diameter for a brass tap. Place a gasket on it and insert it into the finished hole. On the other side we also insert the gasket and tighten it with a nut. The top of the washbasin is ready.

It would not be out of place to say that an outdoor washbasin should be equipped with a drain. This can be an ordinary container where used water is collected or a ready-made sink with a corrugated tube inserted into the drain (from three meters). With the help of such a tube, water can simply be drained into the garden and absorbed into the ground. Some people do not install a drain at all, and the water flows directly onto the ground. And so that it doesn’t form under your feet dirty slurry, (two buckets are enough). As they say, cheap and cheerful.

For indoors

If we are talking about homemade washbasins outdoors, then it is definitely worth mentioning indoor washbasins. The indoor washbasin is much more complex in design than its outdoor counterparts. It is clear that here you need to take care not only of its functionality, but also of its beauty. In other words, it should fit harmoniously into the general surroundings of simple country life. Most likely, this will be the most common type of internal washbasins - “moidodyr”. How to make this washbasin out of wood? We will need boards 25x150 mm.

In vertical blanks, it is necessary to cut out recesses in advance (depth 20 mm, width 8 mm). This can be done using a hand router. In horizontal workpieces, using a regular hacksaw, tenons are cut accordingly.

The hacksaw should be sharp enough and have fine teeth. Canvas length: 25–30 cm.

The size of the future washbasin is largely determined by the dimensions of the water container that we plan to use for it. It is also important for us to know for sure the dimensions of the sink that we will mount on the cabinet. After everything is cut to size and the technological recesses along with the spikes are cut, the washbasin is assembled like a construction set. However, it would be better to secure the connection points with wood screws.

The upper (or side) part of the structure has a niche where we should insert the finished water container.

For such a washbasin would be better suited 20 liter galvanized tank (width: 490 mm, height: 360 mm, thickness: 140 mm)

We reinforce the bottom of the washbasin cabinet with slats (20×45 mm) at the same distance from each other. We cover the back wall of the upper part of the “moidodyr” with plywood - from 3 mm and secure it with self-tapping screws. Of course, it’s better to use moisture-resistant plywood for this kind of thing in case the water container leaks, but if it doesn’t, don’t worry.

As for the cabinet door, everything is simple: we glue a square of 3 mm plywood to the frame of four interconnected small wooden planks on the back side using PVA glue. All that remains is to embed the lock with a curly handle. All, wooden frame"Moydodyra" is assembled. Now the final touch is sanding, painting the piece and then installing the sink. It will turn out very nice.

There are a lot of options for washbasins and they are all good in themselves. The question is which design you will prefer. Much, of course, depends on the functions you assign to it. One way or another, a washstand/sink is convenient in all respects. And if it’s at the dacha, then even more so. Therefore, we hope that this article was useful to you.

This video is about creating an exclusive washbasin for a summer house:

See how you can make a homemade washstand from a five-liter plastic bottle:

Photo

For convenience and comfort in your country estate, you can create a washbasin for your dacha with your own hands. An inexpensive and low-effort device can make life much more enjoyable. Even if in country house There is full-fledged system water supply, an outdoor washstand on the site allows you to quickly rinse your hands after working with soil, fertilizers, and weeds.

Types of washbasins

It may seem that you can make a washbasin for your dacha with your own hands only of the simplest design. In fact, even a novice master can, with the help of the most simple tools create a convenient and very beautiful washbasin. The degree of comfort is determined by the design of the structure.

By own choice You can give preference to one of the most common models:

  • hinged (with a pressure spout or tap),
  • on a stand that can be easily carried and installed anywhere on the site, even where there is no suitable support,
  • "moydodyr" - a structure with a cabinet in which a container for collecting waste water is located,
  • heated products.

If you need to choose or without it, then our review article will help you with this.

And the characteristics that the popular and inexpensive one has are presented in other material on the site.

We also have instructions on how to do it. Selection of materials and sequence of work.

Washstand made from a plastic bottle

If you are thinking about how to make a washbasin in your dacha with your own hands, quickly and easily, a design made from a plastic bottle will be the optimal solution. You can create such a design in a few minutes at virtually no cost. Such a washstand will serve perfectly until you build a more advanced structure, and maybe it will be in demand in the future.

The general principle for creating such washbasins is the same - a plastic bottle is hung and fixed vertically with the neck down. Such a bottle can be filled through the neck, but to do this the bottle will have to be removed from the support. If rigid fixation is provided, the bottom of the container can be cut off. In this case, it is better to equip the washbasin with a top cover (for example, made from a cut-off bottom part) to prevent dust and debris from entering the water.

Variations usually concern the water supply device.

  • The simplest outdoor washbasin for a dacha is a plastic bottle, in the lid of which there is a hole, and an ordinary nail with a blunt tip is placed in it. The nail cap is inside the bottle, and the hole diameter is larger diameter nail, but less than the diameter of its head. Thus, in a free position, the head of the nail is pressed against the hole, blocking the outlet of water. If you need to wash your hands, just lift it by pressing the free end of the nail from bottom to top. The advantage of the design is its simplicity, however, there are also significant shortcomings. For example, a nail that is constantly in water quickly rusts. In addition, using such a pressure device is not always convenient. The model may well work as an outdoor washstand for a dacha, but it is difficult to wash dishes with its help due to the inconvenience of the drainage part and the small capacity.

  • A wall-mounted washbasin for a dacha made from a plastic bottle can serve as a drain device have a regular “original” lid with a hole in the side. When such a cap is completely screwed on, the hole is blocked by the neck of the bottle. By partially opening the lid, you free the hole, and water begins to pour out of the washbasin. The inconvenience of using this design lies in the difficulty of regulating the intensity of water supply. The advantage, like the previous option, is the simplicity of the device.
  • You can make a more comfortable outdoor washstand for your dacha with your own hands from a plastic bottle, equipping the neck of the container with a small tap. It can be purchased or removed from faulty equipment (washing machine, etc.). It is not difficult to fix the tap on the neck using electrical tape.

Mounted models from canisters

If a do-it-yourself summer washbasin at the dacha made from bottles does not meet the needs of the family even with temporary use, you can install a larger model made from a plastic or metal canister, or even a bucket. To do this, cut or knock out a hole in the container into which the tap is installed.

If necessary, for better tightness, first install a squeegee into the hole knocked out in the canister, providing it with rubber gaskets on both sides. The position of the drive is fixed with nuts from the outer and inside canisters. A crane is installed on the drain.

At During installation, it is important to ensure the tightness of the joints. If you choose a canister model, you should take into account that the drainage volume will be larger, which means you should think about drainage.

The following options are possible:

  • a container for collecting liquid installed under the washbasin,
  • drainage ditch,
  • drainage channel to, etc.

If the site has permeable soil into which water drains easily, you can allow the liquid to soak into the soil. In this case, it is recommended to fill the space under the washbasin with gravel, crushed stone or expanded clay for better drainage.

Models on stands

Counter-mounted washbasins are containers with taps mounted on a frame. The frame has “legs” at the bottom that go into the ground. Thus, the washstand on the stand moves freely and is installed in any part personal plot. For ease of installation, a crossbar is installed above the support legs - this is a kind of “pedal”. You can quickly and securely install the structure by pressing the crossbar with your foot.

The frame structure of the washbasin on the counter must be reliably protected from moisture, especially its supporting parts that are immersed in the ground.

A tank with a tap can be purchased or made independently. Please note: the immersion depth of the legs for reliable stability increases in proportion to the weight of the structure. This is an important factor when choosing the tank material and its volume.

Washbasin with cabinet

You can make a more solid and convenient country washbasin with your own hands with a cabinet and its own support for the filling container. This model can be installed outdoors, on a covered veranda and in the house. To create it, you will need materials, however, for reasons of economy, you can not purchase them specifically, but use improvised materials or leftovers from construction and installation work in a different direction.

The main elements of such a washstand, called “moidodyr”, are a sink (even an old sink dismantled during renovation can be used in this capacity) and a filling tank, which can be purchased ready-made or made with your own hands. In the second case, certain skills will be required. If a washbasin is provided for a summer cottage without heating, the tank may be plastic. If you want to provide maximum comfort and supply "moydodyr" heating element, it is advisable to choose a container made of metal.

The washbasin with cabinet is frame structure, covered with sheet or panel material. It can be used as:

  • plywood,
  • plastic,
  • polycarbonate,
  • panels made of polymer material,
  • sheet steel, etc.

The photo shows another version of the cabinet, in the manufacture of which wooden boards were used

For the frame of the washbasin with a cabinet, wooden blocks with a square cross-section (square side 50-80 mm) or a steel corner 25x25 or 40x40 mm are used.

The work is performed in the following order:

  1. Measuring the sink and calculating the dimensions of the cabinet.
  2. Cutting the frame material (bar or corner) to the specified dimensions (8 identical segments to form the upper and lower horizontal squares).
  3. Cutting off vertical posts (4 bars).
  4. Assembly (knocking down, welding, etc.) of the frame.

Important: When installing a washbasin outdoors, it is recommended to paint or varnish materials that are not resistant to moisture.

Water drainage is organized in the most convenient way.

  • The easiest way is to use a bucket to collect waste water.
  • For stationary structures, you can arrange a drain into a sewer or ditch.
  • If the soil has good permeability, water can be drained into the soil by first filling the drainage area with drainage material (crushed stone, gravel, etc.) to a height of 25-35 cm.

When covering the frame on all walls of the cabinet, except the front one, sheets or panels are fixed rigidly. In the front part there are two or one (depending on the dimensions of the product) doors. In the cabinet under the sink there is a tank or bucket where the water will drain.

A frame vertical superstructure should be installed above the sink, on which it will be fixed.

Such a washbasin can be equipped with an additional countertop and a dish drainer made of slats.

Do you want to know, ? Then read our separate article with step by step instructions for work.

Heated washbasin

A washbasin that will have not only cold, but also hot water is a real luxury for a summer house. Such structures, as a rule, are installed permanently, since they require connection to the electrical network. By design, such a metal washbasin for a dacha can be a “moidodyr” or a model on a counter.

To heat the liquid in the tank, you can use a regular boiler, however experienced craftsmen recommend purchase a special heating element with a thermostat. Please note that the power of the heating element must be selected in accordance with the volume of the tank. If the power is insufficient, you will have to wait a long time for the water to heat up, and if the power is too high, there is a high probability that the water will overheat. In addition, you should select optimal design and heating mode. If there is only one tank and is not divided into chambers, the water will need to be heated to a temperature of about 40 °C; with a divided tank (one section for cold water, and the other, with a heating element, for hot water), the heating temperature should be higher. In this case, the tank is equipped not with an ordinary tap, but with a mixer.

When making an electric washbasin for a heated cottage with your own hands, to ensure safety, it is important to take care of the insulation of the current supply wire, and also to equip the structure with a float level indicator or its more complex analogue, as well as, in the absence of a thermostat, a thermometer to control water heating.

Another option on how to make a washstand in the country is demonstrated in the video.

Country washbasin from plastic bottles

A necessary thing at the dacha is a washbasin or washbasin, which can be hung on the site. This practical device will allow you to rinse your hands after gardening, wash your tools, rinse vegetables or fruits without entering the house. Such a country washstand can be easily made from plastic bottles, and there can be many ways, we will consider only a few of them.

The most basic country washstand made from plastic bottles is made as follows:

Take a large plastic bottle with a cap, then cut off the bottom from it with a knife or scissors. The bottom can be cut off not completely and bent over (this will be a place for soap). After this, we pierce holes on the sides with an awl, through which we thread a lace or wire, and hang the resulting washstand.

Alternatively, you can nail the washbasin to the holder. Or, if you have holders, attach the washbasin to them, as shown in the photo.

Pour water into the washstand. When you need to wash your hands, just unscrew the lid a little.

Option with an inverted plastic bottle:

You can also adapt the washstand like this:

We take a plastic bottle, make holes in the lid with an awl heated over a candle or stove (there should be a lot of them), we also make holes for the lace in the middle of the bottle so that it can easily be turned over, and hang it so that it is with the lid facing up.

When washing your hands, simply turn the bottle over.

Our country washbasin made from a plastic bottle is ready! Making it, as you can see, is very simple.

The option is more complex and functional:

Take two plastic bottles of the same size. First, we deal with one bottle, which will be the washbasin itself. We cut off the part with the bottom, but not evenly, but leaving a small eyelet on the remaining part (this will be the mount for our country washstand).

We cut out the widest part of the second bottle (closer to the base), then finish it as in the picture. We need to make (closer to the top) several pairs of horizontal cuts, 2-3 cm long (we will insert toothbrushes here). Below we cut a rectangular window (we cut it on 3 sides and turn it to the side, so that a tube of toothpaste can fit into this tube). We secure the folded rectangle around the edges with a stapler.

We put the second blank on the first and get a washbasin with additional functions. Place an inverted bottom on top (for soap).

For summer residents, the issue of carrying out hygiene procedures is always relevant, since excavation work requires the presence of a washbasin. This or that design is installed depending on the availability of water supply and electricity. Let's consider how to solve the problem with the washbasin, based on various conditions, and what types of washbasins can be used in the country.

Peculiarities

The choice of washing device depends on the method of water supply: tap water or a manually filled container. Modern dachas are equipped with a centralized water supply, but most dacha farms use water from a well, imported water, or from an artesian well. This determines the division of washbasins into two types of devices.

The standard faucet design is powered by water pipes. At the dacha, it is convenient to install such a washbasin next to the garden or in the yard so that the earth does not clog the drainage system. The water supply is centralized; the owners of the site only have to make a tap for the washbasin; the sink and faucet can be bought in the store. You can purchase a ready-made stand for the sink or install it yourself to the desired height and place it in a convenient place.

The disadvantage of this type of washbasin is that it is limited to use during the warm season, since with the onset of the first frost the pipes may burst.

To avoid failure of the water supply before the onset of cold weather, the water supply is shut off and the remaining water is drained from the pipes. In a good way To extend the life of a washbasin, insulate the external water supply using glass wool. This type of insulation will allow you to extend the operating period by a couple of months a year, but in late autumn you will still need to completely shut off the water supply. The construction industry offers for winter use at the dacha, specialized water pipes with insulation and an electric heating element inside the outer contour of the insulation, which protects against freezing water pipe throughout its entire length at subzero temperatures.

The presence of electricity will allow you to use heating elements inside the washbasin. Hot water supply at the dacha is a luxury; in any weather you often have to wash your face with cold water. Today there is a wide range of washbasins with elements for heating water to make your stay at the dacha comfortable. Such designs will require good electrical insulation and a float device. The container can be single-chamber, then the heating should not exceed 40 degrees. In devices with two chambers, a mixer tap is used for cold and hot water.

Traditional pour-over washstands are the simplest scheme that uses the pressure of a mass of water: the container is filled with water, a hole is made in the lower part with a valve in the form of a rod, or a tap is installed. Various industrial models of this type are available for sale.

Country craftsmen show miracles of ingenuity, using scrap materials to construct washstands from plastic bottles or tanks. Place country washbasins in a sunny place to naturally heat the water.

Regardless of the water supply scheme, the presence or absence of heating, all washbasins should be easy to use.

First of all, you need to organize a drain. In the simplest models, mounted on a rack, this can be a specially equipped drainage groove, the walls of which are concreted or pipes similar to roof drainage gutter are used. To drain, you need to provide a slope and sufficiently high sides to protect from splashes. It is more convenient to use a cabinet with a sink and a drain, which is discharged into an underground tank or directed at a slope to a designated place on the site.

Let's try to analyze in more detail the various models of country washbasins in terms of constructive schemes and designs.

Main types

Country washbasins can be classified into wall-mounted, frame and pedestal, with or without heating. The only mounted outdoor model in the recent past is a metal or plastic hanging tank with a valve at the bottom. Such washbasins are mounted on a pole or wall of the house or on a frame, and a regular bucket is used for the drain. They require completely manual operation and winter time are cleaned into the room.

Despite its simplicity, this is a very popular model that is in constant demand. This is the most budget option, and is also available in a wide range of colors.

The disadvantage is the small volume of the tank and the need to frequently add water. Improved models have a larger capacity tank - from 10 liters or more. Equipped with a tap to regulate water pressure.

The large weight of the filled tank requires a frame stand and good fastenings to the support. The stand is equipped with a sink and space for a container for used liquid.

A stationary washbasin for a summer residence is installed on a flat area. The legs of the frame can be recessed into the ground. To maintain an even position, the legs are reinforced with a support made of solid material or legs are used in the form of an inverted letter “P”. Drainage in dense soils is organized in drain hole or into a drainage ditch.

Sandy soils do not require special drainage; water can be allowed to soak into the ground. In this case, the soil under the washbasin is covered with a layer of small pebbles or expanded clay to prevent the formation of a puddle.

The next most difficult water supply is the design of a garden washbasin attached to the outdoor shower tank. In this case, two problems are solved at once: natural heating of water and the presence of a large volume of liquid. Water supply pipes are installed to the washbasin tank, a float system is installed, or manual filling adjustment is used using an additional tap at the pipe inlet.

The same option is convenient to use if you have an electric water heater in the shower. These models are justified if the location of the washbasin next to the shower is convenient for the owners of the cottage.

In large areas or when the garden is located at a significant distance from outbuildings It is worth choosing a model with autonomous water heating. There are options for independently connecting the heating element to conventional design without heating water or purchasing a ready-made tank with a built-in heating element.

High quality and modern models many offer Russian manufacturers By affordable prices. Self-connection will require knowledge of the intricacies of working with electricity.

To heat water with an electric heating element, tanks made of plastic and metal are used. Choosing heating element for self-installation, you need to calculate the required heating power. A too weak element for a large water container will make the heating time very long, a powerful element will make the water scalding hot.

Good choice You will need to purchase a heating element with a thermostat or select a model with two containers for cold and hot water. Particular attention is paid to electrical insulation for safe use.

Outdoor washbasins differ in the method of mounting: on a frame or on a cabinet. The frame can be made independently from wood or metal, or you can purchase a ready-made one. It is selected according to a convenient height, and the length of the support legs depends on the weight of the water tank, and the greater the weight of the tank, the deeper the supports are embedded in the ground. Massive structures will require concrete legs to maintain stability.

Another common option is to mount the washbasin on a cabinet using the “Moidodyr” type. Here the frame is sheathed with moisture-resistant material and has a neat appearance.

The washbasin with cabinet is equipped with soap dishes, towel holders, and a mirror. These devices create comfortable conditions for use.

The design can be chosen to suit every taste. There are models on sale made from various materials and with different contents - from “all-inclusive” to basic devices.

Finally, the last type of country washbasin without a tank and without heating is directly from the water supply system. Pipes are connected to the sink on the cabinet or a decorative support made of wood, stone or metal is installed. If conditions permit, a water supply connected to an electric or gas water heater installed in the house is led outside. Such a system should be located near a heat source.

It makes sense to install it in the yard or next to a bathhouse or summer kitchen. In remote corners of the garden, they use running water or install tanks with heating elements.

Materials

Washbasins are made from traditional materials: plastic, metal, wood. Lightweight and practical plastic is used for simple attachments with valves or taps and for heated models. Modern plastic is a durable material that does not corrode, is easy to use, and easy to keep clean. Tanks made of galvanized steel or metal are more durable and will last for many years, provided they do not rust.

Stainless steel tanks have great advantages. Stainless steel is almost resistant to corrosion, has a long service life, good decorative qualities, but the cost of such products is high, which is not always justified for a summer residence.

The frame is mainly made of metal or wooden beams. Cabinet models are sheathed with plastic panels or fiberboard sheets, MDF or natural lumber. Particle boards can only be used indoors, since under the influence of moisture their service life is reduced to one or two seasons.

The finishing of plastic panels has a variety of color scheme, can also imitate coatings made from any natural materials. They are easy to clean and inexpensive.

Finishing with natural wood always looks noble, but moisture destroys the wood and gives it a dark shade, which over time will look unaesthetic. The wooden parts of the cabinet must be regularly treated with antiseptic preparations or coated with oil-based paint.

Garden washbasins, made in a traditional rural style, fit well into country life. A win-win– the cabinet is finished in stainless steel. This design provides long term service and excellent appearance, which is only supported wet cleaning with any detergent.

The material for making sinks and taps can also be chosen according to your preferences and conditions of use. When choosing a country washbasin, you need to consider what time of year it will be used and how often. If you just wash your hands before eating or returning to the city, then they pick up plastic models. For permanent residence At the dacha during the warm season, a more durable material is selected - a metal sink or tank. Faience or ceramics in the country are not the most suitable choice due to the high fragility of these materials.

Dimensions

The size of the water tank depends on the number of users. For a family of four and trips to the country on weekends, a tank of 10-20 liters is enough. Larger size(30 liters or more) is intended for permanent residence of a family outside the city. If you have to walk far to get water and you rarely go to the dacha, then you can opt for simple mounted models with a volume of no more than 5 liters. It is necessary to calculate the required amount of water and the size of the tank for heated models, so as not to waste extra electricity on the unspent balance.

The washbasin cabinet has dimensions where 5-7 centimeters are added to the size of the sink for the countertop. Standard cabinets have a width and length of 60 centimeters, a height of 75 centimeters for the sink and 1.5 meters for the supporting wall.

Style and design

Ready-made washbasin models come in a variety of designs. For supporters of the high-tech style, it is appropriate to choose a washbasin made entirely of of stainless steel. Decorating a cottage in Provence style will be supported by plastic models pastel colors. The classics are cabinets covered with natural wood panels with a tank located behind the counter panel and with a large mirror. An ornament of flowers in the decoration of an outdoor washbasin will harmoniously match the garden vegetation.

A simple country washbasin can turn into a work of art, if its standard design is decorated with plants or given unusual shape. Kiss summer kitchen outdoors can be made from a frame covered with slats. You need to make the tabletop a convenient length so that you can cook on it, replant flowers or preserve vegetables. Equip the supporting wall and cabinet with storage shelves and hooks for utensils and hygiene items.

Lightweight and inexpensive design from natural wood will fit organically into the landscape and become a convenient kitchen island in the garden.

An original solution You will want to decorate a wash basin and a sink with a drain into barrels, thereby emphasizing the rural style of your estate. This design is not difficult to implement if there are old barrels left on the farm. They need to be sanded and stained with a suitable stain so that supporting wall and the barrels became the same color, and covered with wax or oil. IN top part the barrels are inserted into the sink, the tank is decorated with half of another barrel.

Modern minimalist styles welcome simple rectangular shapes without embellishment. Buy a simple solid white or gray plastic set with a cabinet and install it in the desired location. Place flowerpots with flowers nearby, and place the wall-mounted washbasin above the cabinet with flowers. You will wash your face, and at this time the flowerbed will be irrigated.

An outdoor heated washbasin will require the construction of a canopy to ensure safe operating conditions. Even if the washbasin is not heated, in rainy weather it will be more comfortable to have a roof over your head for hygiene procedures. The simplest canopy can be attached to the frame and take the form of a pitched or gable roof. The roof can be made of corrugated sheets, wooden slats or polycarbonate. The use of polycarbonate allows you to build an arched structure from metal arches.

Well-known manufacturers and reviews

Well-known Russian manufacturers offer a wide range of ready-made country washbasins that meet the diverse needs of consumers and have a wide price range. The most popular heated models are washbasins "Elbet"– inexpensive devices with a powerful water heating element, sensors temperature regime and a large water container. According to reviews from summer residents, they have good performance.

They are not inferior to them as washbasins "Spring". They are made of stainless steel, which significantly increases their service life. Both heated and non-heated models are available; the tank has a volume of 16 liters or more.

"Sadko" is a compact model with a polypropylene body; the water tank holds more than 18 liters. Consumers note the ease of assembly and installation, convenient and durable fastening of structural parts.

Good washbasins are offered by companies such as “Cascade”, “Summer Resident”, “Clean”, “Double”, “Leader”, “Waterfall”, Obi. Production of the company "Aquatex" has gained popularity due to its good quality and budget prices. Washbasins have a variety of designs, a tank volume of over 20 liters and heating. When choosing a model, you need to pay attention to the heating method. "Dry" heating is provided by a soapstone pipe with a heating element inserted into it. This method allows you to heat water quickly and without scale formation; they do not break when connected without water. "Wet" heating is similar to the operation of a boiler, it is less safe and more prone to breakdowns, which makes the price of such washbasins somewhat lower.

How to choose and install it yourself?

When choosing a model in a store, you need to be guided by the following arguments:

  • season of use, heating will be required or not;
  • street or home mode of operation affects the choice of material;
  • tank size based on the number of users;
  • case design.

Having determined these criteria, it is enough to simply select and install a washbasin in your dacha with your own hands. The main task is to securely fasten the water tank to the support. If this is a ready-made model with a housing, you need to follow the instructions exactly and firmly secure the tank to the panel, this will ensure safety of use.

Self-placement will help you implement a set of terminals and fasteners, which are included in the sales kit. The frame is purchased at finished form or made from scrap material. The metal legs of the frame are sunk into the ground in proportion to the weight of the filled water container - the heavier, the deeper. The height of the frame is calculated based on proportionality to the height of the person, but so that the tank hangs at least 1 meter from the ground.

For greater stability, the frame is made in the form of a cabinet. It is made as follows: prepare corners from steel 25x25, or wooden beams with a section of 50x50. Measure the dimensions of the sink and calculate the dimensions of the frame. Cut from a metal profile or timber required length parts and screwed or welded manual welding. If you want to make a closed structure, the frame is sheathed wooden slats, chipboard or MDF panels or plastic and install the sink.

Plastic sheathing frame - more practical option for outdoor use. The cabinet can be coated with moisture-resistant paint. It is worth noting that the paint on the outdoor washbasin will have to be updated annually. Chipboard and MDF panels are only suitable for home use. To extend the service life of the frame, you need to isolate the legs from soil moisture. To do this, the metal is painted with an anti-corrosion compound, and the wooden parts of the structure are treated with anti-rotting agents. Water drainage is organized either autonomously - in a bucket under the sink, or permanently - in a drainage hole. For stationary drainage, a sewer pipe is installed drain pipe at the back of the cabinet.

The back wall is built with a vertical frame on which a water tank, mirror and towel hooks will be mounted. The side walls of the cabinet are covered with panels, back wall It can also be covered with a panel, and when installed against a wall it is left open. The door is hung on hinges on the front wall of the cabinet or left open; if desired, this place can be decorated with a curtain. It is better to place an outdoor washbasin on a hard paved area.

It’s not difficult to make a heating system yourself; you just need to purchase a heating element of the required power. It must correspond to the size of the water tank. It is better to opt for models with a thermostat. Attach the heating element to the side wall of the tank at the bottom of the container. Top position will make heating less efficient, the heating element will often burn out due to a decrease in water level. Installing a heating element requires careful insulation of the terminals and wires.

For long-term operation of a country washbasin, you must follow certain rules. Before the start of the winter season, be sure to drain water from all containers and pipes. If, however, the pipe froze during early frosts, then the damaged area is repaired: couplings are installed to cover the breaks or a piece of pipe is replaced. It is easier to perform this operation with polypropylene pipes. When heating elements fail, they are replaced with new ones. To do this, you need to purchase a model with a similar design and power.

Heated washbasins are best used indoors. An outdoor heated tank must be placed under a canopy. For the winter, the washbasin with the heating element must be put away in the barn or in the house. All metal parts should be thoroughly dried and the washbasin should be wrapped in dry plastic wrap for winter storage. For the winter, it is advisable to remove plastic tanks of bulk washbasins from their support and put them indoors, since ultraviolet radiation and temperature changes destroy the plastic, and moisture entering the tank when freezing contributes to the deformation of its shape.

Metal and wooden stationary outdoor washbasins dried and wrapped in film, tied with rope and left in the open air for the winter.

Successful examples and options

The placement of a washbasin in the country depends on the needs of the household. Installed in the garden simple design, where the hinged tank is mounted on the frame. Climbing annuals can be planted around the legs of the frame to decorate the supports. In the yard it is more convenient to use a cabinet with a sink. The advantages of a corner location include creating a hygiene area hidden from prying eyes. If you decorate it with plants or paintings, this area will acquire a special charm. Advanced summer residents place cabinets with a computer for adjusting the heater in the country kitchen, bathhouse or shower.

It is very convenient to purchase a washbasin model with a pump for pumping water using a foot pedal, where the tank is connected by a special hose to a common tank for water intended for household needs. The pump allows you to contactlessly fill the washing tank with water, which will big advantage when working with soil and for hygiene purposes.
