Ulyanovsk Aviation Plant "Aviastar-SP". Dossier. At the Aviastar-SP plant

Aviastar-SP is the largest aircraft manufacturing enterprise in Russia. You can walk there for several days with a camera and find new scenes and scenes. But, alas, time was short as always.

On September 1, back in 1975, Order No. 350ch of the Ministry of Aviation Industry was issued “On the construction of an aviation industrial complex" It was conceived, built and put into operation with the aim of creating an enterprise in the USSR for the production of a new wide-body transport aircraft An-124 "Ruslan". 10 years later, on October 30, 1985, the first flight of the An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft produced by the plant took place.

Now the company specializes in the production of modern transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A, as well as passenger aircraft of the Tu-204 family. Aviastar's production capacity allows it to produce up to 50 aircraft per year. Until 2004, the company produced heavy An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft. And the first factory Tu-204 took off on August 17, 1990.

Currently, as part of cooperation, the company is actively involved in the construction of MS-21, Il-112V, Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. But I will show you only a small part of the huge complex. What I managed to see for myself. And at the end a little surprise awaits you.

1. Since 2004, production of the An-124 “Ruslan” at the plant has been discontinued, but technical and service maintenance these aircraft in order to maintain the airworthiness of the operating fleet, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and in commercial operation.

2. In total, during the period of existence of the Ulyanovsk aviation complex, 36 An-124 units were manufactured.

3. The An-124 is being modernized standard design An-124-100 or An-124-100-150 (maximum payload 150 tons, take-off weight 402 tons) meets ICAO requirements for terrain noise, aircraft navigation accuracy, etc. are carried out according to the documentation of the aircraft developer ANTK named after. OK. Antonov and life extension programs.

4. An order is being carried out for the Ministry of Defense to modernize more than 20 aircraft.

5. “People’s lives depend on your work” - a poster next to the plane.

6. “Ruslan” without the forward fuselage.

7. After the cessation of production, Russia and Ukraine tried several times to return to the issue of resuming production, but alas. And the current political situation as a whole more than excludes this. Thus, the repair and modernization of An-124 Ruslan aircraft in Russia is now carried out only by Aviastar-SP JSC.

8. Another project of the domestic aviation industry is the Tu-204SM. According to the registry, the plant built two aircraft that traditionally fly at air shows. The plant plans to put four aircraft of the Tu-204 family into operation this year.

9. The plant carries out timely maintenance on aircraft of the Tu-204 family that are in operation.

10. Two Tu-204-300 will be transferred to the Special Flight Detachment “Russia”, one of them will be in a VIP configuration.

11. Previously, the aircraft was laid down in the stocks as a modification of the Tu-204-100B, but later it was converted to the Tu-204-300.

12. The plane is already generally ready and will be sent to transport top officials of the state this year.

13. At the time of filming, the interior was being installed.

14. On the right is the main passenger's cabin.

15. Unlike the “SM” version, all other 204 have a three-member crew.

16. According to the register, about a dozen different modifications of the aircraft were developed at the plant. But I didn’t find any information on them.

17. To be honest, I didn’t understand a damn thing about this board. The factory said it was SM. But serial number 64056 belongs to the Tu-204S(E), which was built for China, but the project was frozen. It is also written in the register that “The initial backlog on the side was partially transferred to 64151.” And 151 cars are just SM. In the comments they often like to poke me at the Tu-334, saying they ruined it with the Superjet. Listen, no one here wants to buy modern TU-204SM cars, and you remember the stillborn project of the Tupolev Design Bureau twenty years ago. Who needs him now?

18. Tu-204-100V RA-64049 flew to the plant to carry out work according to the bulletin. The aircraft made its first flight in 2008 and is now actively operated by Red Wings Airlines.

19. But the red wings had an unpleasant story with Superjets.

20. Um. Why break glass?

21. A unique bus for testing aircraft radio equipment.

22. But, of course, the main project of the complex is the Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft, which is a deeply modernized version of the well-proven Il-76MD aircraft. This plane has new design wings, new Perm PS-90A-76 engines with a thrust of 14.5 tons each, reinforced landing gear, modified radio-electronic and navigation systems. Now the Russian Defense Ministry has signed a contract for the supply of 39 aircraft.

23. Who can identify what is overboard on the street?

24. And here is the promised surprise - a line for the production of fuselage panels, tail sections, tail fins and smaller parts of the new promising MS-21 aircraft.

25. Parts of the composite wing and tail for the first flight vehicle have already left for Irkutsk, and now the plant is preparing a kit for static tests. The photo shows a keel made of composite materials for the MS-21.

26. Ribs - duralumin, fastening - titanium. The rest is composite panels that were made nearby - .

27. Prepared parts for the fuselage.

28. Finished panel.

29. And its details. The assembly accuracy is astronomical.

30. Assembly of the MS-21 tail section.

Many thanks to the press service of the Aviastar-SP enterprise, the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation and everyone who helped on this trip.

JSC Aviastar-SP is a plant located in the city of Ulyanovsk on the left bank of the Volga, founded in 1976, and is now the largest aircraft manufacturing enterprise in the Russian Federation, a joint-stock company, a promising enterprise in the Russian Federation, competing with global manufacturers in the aviation field. It is part of the structure of the public joint stock company United Aircraft Corporation.

The plant specializes in the creation of passenger, transport and cargo aircraft, and also participates in a number of innovative aviation projects. Initially, Aviastar specialized in brands of ships such as Il and Tu. The plant was able to produce up to 50 aircraft per year, the equipment and capacity allowed this.

Over the course of three years, from 1976 to 1979, a complex was developed and documentation was created for the development of the Ruslan-124 long-range transport aircraft.

First of all, its creation was needed to help transport ballistic missiles, military equipment and numerous air force. In addition, the aircraft was planned to be used for civil needs of the national economy.

In 1983, a test airfield was built with one of the longest runways in the world, more than 5 km. Now it's active international Airport Ulyanovsk Vostochny, and the only one in the city. Another airport, located on the right bank of the Volga, has already for a long time on repair.

In 1985, Aviastar released its first An-124. In the 80s The Ulyanovsk aviation industrial complex employed more than 36 thousand workers for the serial production of the Russian Antonov airliner, as the An-124 was also called.

First flight of Il-76MD-90A

Until the 90s, the plant produced Ruslan and Tu-204. The latter was released in 1990 on the day of the Air Fleet, and became competitive in the world market, thanks to its economical, quiet engines and suitable aerodynamic parameters. Two years later, Aviastar became a joint stock company.

In 1993, the plant sent its first cargo Tu-204C with Rolls-Royce engines to an exhibition in France. From 2000 and for 12 years, various types of modifications of manufactured aircraft were made. Supplies were made for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and in 2010 the construction of transport Il-76MD was organized.

Factory products

On this moment The Aviastar plant produces:

  • An-124. A large, serial, heavy military transport vessel for long-distance flights. It entered service at the beginning of 1987. 56 aircraft were created. And from 2004 to 2013, the creation of aircraft was suspended, after which it was possible to agree on the resumption of construction with the required number of orders. "Ruslan" can accommodate 880 soldiers with full uniforms, or half the number of airborne paratroopers.
  • IL-76. Military transport ship. The first experimental aircraft was created in Moscow, and mass production was initially located in Uzbekistan. In the spring of 2012, production was transferred to Aviastar. At this stage it is priority project plant
  • IL-78. A kind of aerial refueling for military aircraft, created in 1983. This is the only refueling aircraft in Russia. Before the 78M model, it could act as a military transport vessel. Serially developed in Tashkent. At the beginning of 2015 it began to be produced on Aviastar.
  • MS-21. A new passenger aircraft, for short and medium distances, and competing for the niches of Boeing and Airbus, plans to be produced in 2019. The Aviastar plant is participating in the creation of this narrow-body vessel on a cooperative basis.
  • SSJ. Passenger ship Russian production for short distances. Aviastar in this case acts as an installer of ship interiors and a developer of systems for the SS100 family of vessels.

Company Services

Aviastar JSC performs quite well a large number of tasks. This includes:

  1. Stamping, machining and full assembly of ships.
  2. Aircraft testing.
  3. Production of heavy transport vessels, passenger and fuel tankers, which will simultaneously act as “fire fighters”, for example, during forest fires.
  4. Modification of cargo aircraft. For example, improvement of the wings, strengthening of the landing gear, modernization of the center section and engines, radio-electronic and navigation equipment, including digital.
  5. Participation in the development and creation of MS-21 and IL-112V.
  6. Production of panels for fuselage compartments, as well as hatches and doors.

Promising projects

A promising project for the plant at the current stage is the production of the Il-112V aircraft, which is being prepared to replace the An-26. Light ship transport direction, which are ideal for small airfields. Two configurations will be produced - for civilians and military needs. It can accommodate 44 people and is ready for flights of a few thousand kilometers.

Aviastar Ulyanovsk mass-produces fuselage panels, doors and hatches for IL.

Also at the end of last year, Aviastar presented a prototype of the Il-78M-90A fuel tanker. The aircraft is being converted for military needs, there is landing equipment, a ramp, the aircraft can act as fire fighting equipment, and fuel tanks with filling equipment, for the main purpose of the aircraft - refueling. 126 tons of fuel are loaded into the IL.

At the end of 2017, the “sentinel” A-100 “Premier” was presented. Radar detection and guidance aircraft. Serial production will begin in 2020 to replace the aging A-50 model. The Prime Minister will “grope” any fighter and ship at a distance of 1000 km from them. But its characteristics are kept in the strictest confidence. Aviastar presented separate spare parts for this aircraft.

Aviastar plant

In parallel with this, Aviastar-SP presented a new passenger Tu-204-100V at the flight test station. The equipment for it was developed in collaboration with many scientific centers Russia, therefore the vessel stands out with its diverse advantages over similar models.

On the aircraft, in addition to innovations regarding balancing, materials and changes in the structure of the aircraft for improved aerodynamics, fly-by-wire control also appeared for automatic landing of the aircraft in difficult weather conditions.

Electronics diagnoses all equipment, 6 displays display the entire operation of the “global mechanism”, there is satellite communication. The aircraft's wings underwent changes; double-slit flaps and slats appeared in the design, and new technology landing gear was added. The air supply system through air cooling lines has been changed.
