How to make a garland

The basis of our creation is an LED garland. You can use any one you already have. Take a few plastic bottles the same volume. I had cookie containers. They will perfectly protect the light bulbs from bad weather if you want to hang the garland outside. Colored paper will make the garland bright and a little magical. Everything else can be bought at a craft store.

YOU WILL NEED

  • electric garland
  • plastic bottles or boxes
  • colored wrapping paper or plastic bags
  • scissors
  • wire cutters
  • tape or wire

PROGRESS

Here are some more options, how to make a garland with your own hands from plastic bottles. Let your holiday be bright and unforgettable!

Cut the bottom of the bottle and make a hole in it for an LED light bulb. You will get original flowers!

If you paint the bottom of the bottle with snowflakes and fasten it together correctly, you will get an interesting Christmas tree. Such snowflakes also look good on wire.

Even multi-colored plastic can be skillfully used as decoration. A little imagination and scissors: that's all you need.

We have a lot of ideas, how to make a New Year's garland. Use them and let your holiday be the most beautiful this year!

An LED strip can turn any fancy wine bottle into an amazing (and useful!) souvenir.

Use these bottle lights to illuminate dark corners, as a night light or as a holiday decoration.

The whole trick to turning glass bottles into lamps is to drill a hole in the wall of the bottle.

The opening must be large enough to allow the LED strip to pass through. This can be done easily with a few special tools.

We will need:

  • LED garland with 3m battery
  • Glass bottle
  • Razor
  • Adhesive remover
  • Diamond Hole Saw
  • Drill
  • Masking tape
  • Gloves
  • Protective glasses
  • Electric engraver with grinding cylinder
  • Stick (optional)

Short LED Strip Light- 3 meters long, about 55 LEDs - will perfectly fill a standard glass bottle. LEDs remain cool to the touch, so you don't have to worry about the glass heating up. Using a battery will allow you to place the bottle-lamp anywhere, regardless of an electrical outlet.

Step 1.

Prepare the bottle by removing all labels from the glass - use a razor to scrape off the paper. Wipe the glass with adhesive remover and wash with warm, soapy water. Allow to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Step 2.

Place masking tape at the bottom of the bottle. This will mark the place where we will drill and will prevent the drill from slipping.

Step 3.

Put it on protective gloves and glasses. Put diamond drill at a 45 degree angle to the tape and mark the cut. Then turn the drill 90 degrees and continue drilling until the hole is perfect. A light pressure is enough for the diamond drill to penetrate right through the glass. This may take a full minute. Watch to see if glass powder appears so you know the process is progressing.

Step 4.

Remove the masking tape and then carefully grind down any chips or sharp edges in the drilled hole with an engraver.

Step 5.

Wash the bottle thoroughly to remove all drilling and sanding residue. Allow to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Excellent New Year's glowing homemade product from an empty wine bottle.

To make a glowing New Year's bottle we will need:

- wine bottle
- drill and glass drill bit
- safety glasses and gloves
- electrical tape
- Christmas tree garland

So, let's start making a homemade product from an empty wine bottle:

1. Wash the wine bottle thoroughly and remove all labels (if you want, of course, you can leave it);

2. In place of the future hole for wiring the garland, you need to stick pieces of electrical tape; it will prevent the drill from slipping off the bottle.

3. Wear gloves and safety glasses before drilling. Do not press hard on the glass, otherwise the bottle will break, which is why this process is very long. I spent about 30 minutes, my advice to you is to be patient before drilling the bottle!
If everything went well, this is what you should get from it:

4. As soon as you drill a hole, the bottle must be thoroughly rinsed from glass shavings and dried thoroughly!

5. Now you need to stuff the New Year's garland into that unfortunate hole that you have been tormenting for dozens of minutes: bully:!

6. Our glowing New Year's bottle with a garland inside - Ready!

How to decorate your home before the holiday - eternal problem which I will help you solve!

Festive bottles are bottles with sparkle, in the truest sense of the word. They are very easy to make and, importantly, cheap. The money saved is better spent on candy for children and holiday punch for adults! :)

For illumination we will use LEDs.

Step 1: What we need

1. Drill (not necessary if using battery-powered diodes)
2. Drill with a diamond crown (see point 1)
3. 20 white LED bulbs
4. Bottle

Total cost is approximately $10.

You can experiment with the number and color of LED bulbs. As for the color of the bottles - I used dark brown glass bottles. The light passing through them turns out to be very warm and pleasant, and when the bulbs are turned off, they are practically invisible through the glass.

Step 2: Let's get started!

First, the most important rule to remember is that water and electricity don't mix, so be careful and use a pneumatic tool.

Secondly, you can skip this step, if you are using battery-powered diodes.

You need to fill the basin with water and place the bottle in it so that the water barely hides it. To prevent the bottle from floating, it is better to fill it with water. Pressing the drill firmly, make a hole in the bottle at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. This is the hole for the switch. Hold the drill tightly, it is important that the drill does not play or scratch the glass. Drill at slow and medium speeds, there is no need to rush, patience is our friend in this situation.

When the hole is ready, pat yourself on the back.

Now all that remains is to wipe the bottle and let it dry. When the bottle is dry, put the diodes inside and enjoy! :)

Ordinary wine bottles can easily be turned into original Christmas decoration. They can be decorated with the most different ways: paint using stained glass techniques, give them an unusual texture, or use them as interesting New Year’s garlands. To make such a craft, you will need available materials and the bottle itself. We will show you three master classes on how to make original New Year's bottles with your own hands.

Master class No. 1: decorating a New Year's bottle with sparkles

A wine bottle with gold shimmer can complement any New Year's interior. You can decorate a New Year's composition with this craft, put several spruce branches and tassels with berries in the bottle itself, or leave it as an independent New Year's decor.

Materials

To decorate a New Year's bottle with sparkles you will need:

  • empty wine bottle;
  • decoupage glue;
  • dry golden glitter;
  • brush;
  • fine-grained sandpaper;
  • paper;
  • paper napkin.

Step 1. First of all, you will need to prepare the bottle for use. To do this, wipe its surface with a damp cloth, removing dirt and dust. For better adhesion to the glue, sand the glass sandpaper. Wipe the bottle again with a soft, dry cloth to remove any remaining glass dust. This work It is better to do it in a well-ventilated area.

Step 2. Apply decoupage glue to the bottle with a brush. While the glue is still wet, sprinkle the surface with glitter, after covering the work table with paper. Leave the bottle to dry.

Step 3. After the glue has dried, remove excess glitter using a dry brush. If there are spots on the surface of the bottle that are not filled with decor, eliminate these gaps by re-smearing them with a thin layer of glue and sprinkling with a small amount of glitter.

After the glue has dried, your New Year's bottle is ready. If you want to prevent the glitter from falling off in the future, you can cover the surface decorated bottle spray varnish.

Master class No. 2: decoupage of a New Year's bottle with salt

A wine bottle can turn out very interesting if you paint it in White color and decorate with coarse salt. Visually, this craft appears to be lightly dusted with snow. It is best to use such decorative techniques for solid New Year's compositions.

Materials

To decorate a New Year's bottle with salt using decoupage technique, you will need:

  • wine and champagne bottles;
  • primer;
  • coarse salt;
  • glue for decoupage.

Step 1. Prepare your bottles for use. To do this, remove the labels from their surface. For one New Year's composition, you can take several bottles of different heights and shapes at once. This way the craft will look original.

Step 2. Apply a thick layer of primer to the surface of the bottle. Let it dry thoroughly.

Step 3. Spray decoupage glue onto the primed bottle or apply it gently with a soft brush.

Step 4. Until the glue dries, glass surface sprinkle with coarse salt. You can pour a layer of salt onto a thick cardboard or piece of plastic and carefully roll the bottle in it, it will even be easier. Do not decorate the bottle with salt right up to the neck, otherwise it will not look so attractive and organic.

After the glue has completely dried, your New Year's bottle with salt is ready for making compositions. You can put it on the same tray with other similar bottles, complement them with white and silver Christmas decorations, painted with silver paint, twigs and candles.

Master class No. 3: New Year's garland from a bottle

Habitual New Year's garland can look very original if you don’t hang it on the wall or decorate the Christmas tree with it, but place it entirely in a champagne or wine bottle. This kind of work has its own nuances and difficulties, but it’s worth it. A bottle with a garland inside looks like a spectacular lamp and, moreover, is fireproof.

Materials

To make a New Year's garland from a bottle, make sure you have:

  • the bottle itself;
  • Garlands;
  • screwdrivers;
  • hammer;
  • safety glasses;
  • protective gloves;
  • drill;
  • drills;
  • tape

Step 1. Prepare the bottle for use. To do this, rinse it of wine, remove the label from outside and let it dry completely.

Step 2. Put on safety glasses and gloves and, using a hammer and screwdriver, make a small dent in the bottom of the bottle. Start drilling a hole in the location marked in this way. Do this carefully so that the bottle does not burst. You can drop a few drops of water into the hole formed so that the drill and the glass itself do not overheat. If you don't have a drill, you can continue to shape the hole with a screwdriver and hammer, but be prepared for the fact that you won't be able to do the job neatly and, most likely, a small piece of glass will fall out.

Step 3. Thread the garland into the bottle through the resulting hole, leaving only the wire and plug outside.

Step 4. If you have a large hole, cover it with tape so that the garland does not fall out of the bottle during use.

Your original New Year's garland is ready. You can place the bottle under the tree or on your nightstand and turn it on while enjoying the cozy Christmas lights.
