The best level 5 sts in the world. The best medium tanks in World of Tanks. Is it possible to farm on LT or Arte?

Each of the game levels in World of Tanks is interesting in its own way. Each of them has its own atmosphere, its own leaders and its own favorites. But I decided to start talking about level 5 for a reason. It so happens that this level is liked by many players (mostly beginners, but not only), which can already serve as a reason for an article. But there is also a second reason - this moment The game offers discounts on all 5 levels until December 15 inclusive. Isn't this a reason to talk about them and get players interested in buying them?

I would like to note right away that this list of interesting Tier 5 vehicles will include both generally recognized imbas and simply interesting vehicles with author's taste. This disclaimer is made to avoid misunderstandings. Now that we’ve prepared and made a reservation, let’s move on to the list of the most interesting Tier 5 cars.

T-34

The Soviet T-34 is a legendary tank, both during the Second World War and in our game. He gained fame from players not only because of his origin, but also because of his strong performance characteristics. Excellent mobility and maximum speed, ricochet armor, an excellent weapon with simply enormous damage per minute and remarkable penetration. And in terms of safety margin, everything is in order. It’s no wonder that a tank with such a set of performance characteristics is one of the best medium tanks, and indeed of all equipment at this level.

There is no point in describing the Type T-34, because it is a Chinese copy of the Soviet version of the T-34 and their differences are extremely minimal (in fact, they can be considered the same tank). I recommend any of the versions, both the original and a copy, for purchase and testing. The T-34 is very strong and will allow you to be a decisive force in battles, sometimes even at the very bottom of the list.

KV-1

As for me, if the first of Soviet tanks at level 5 the T-34 comes to mind, then the second is definitely the KV-1. The KV-1 is also a famous tank both in wartime and on the battlefields of the game. He is a favorite of many players, especially beginners. The KV-1 has strong armor, which allows it to tank not only classmates, but also periodically tanks of higher levels. What can we say then that at its level and with tanks below the KV-1 it often fights effortlessly and causes a lot of damage. Of course, the tank has vulnerabilities in the armor in any projection, but it still allows you to make mistakes without paying for them. The KV-1 also has a gun with high damage and good damage, which allows you not only to hold back the enemy, but also to advance.

The KV-1 is one of the strongest tanks at its level. Yes, there are certain disadvantages in the form of poor visibility and not the best dynamics, but the advantages in most cases not only compensate, but often outweigh the disadvantages. If you are new to World of Tanks or a lover of armored vehicles, I highly recommend the KV-1 for purchase. Plus, like many level 5 players, he farms silver well even without using a premium account.

Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H

Like many medium tanks that have a special high-explosive weapon, the Pz. IV H. experienced such an event as the nerf of cumulative shells, and high-explosive weapons in general. Previously, many patches and years ago, high explosive weapons overwhelmingly dominated their level. There were good reasons for this - high damage from HE shells, even without penetration, and penetrating cumulative shells, which, moreover, were not “devoured” by the screens and easily penetrated them. There were no tracks or anything like that, the cumulative shells went into the tank like a knife through butter. But time has passed, cumulative weapons have weakened greatly, and landmines were also either reworked/changed in penetration and alpha, or cut down in some other way. But this does not mean that Pz. IV H became a weak tank. It still has good mobility, not cardboard armor on the forehead, which allows you to tank many high-explosive weapons without taking full damage. Not very much, but the screens on the turret help, and the recently added screens on the sides of the hull help quite well, especially against landmines and cumulative shells. The tank has two guns to choose from, and with the nerf of the 105mm high-explosive gun, another, 75mm gun, began to be used more often, but the choice is purely individual. A 105mm cannon is a powerful high-explosive weapon that allows you to inflict damage with a HE shell without even penetrating a tank, and cumulative bullets make it possible to knock out huge numbers of strength from the enemy (this is not true for everyone, because after the nerf, cumulative bullets have significantly decreased in penetration).

The second 75mm cannon is an ordinary “rapid fire” gun - good penetration on the AP and average penetration on the BP, the damage is also average. Essentially, this weapon is for those who want maximum stable play, without surprises.

Even the tank's disadvantages, such as the guns' lack of accuracy and penetration and the tank's mediocre armor as a whole, do not make it weak. Pz. IV H is still good and strong on the battlefield, just a little more difficult to play. The tank is quite unique and not for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a try.

M24 Chaffee

This light tank, which had been at level 5 throughout the history of the game, underwent dramatic changes in one of the patches and became what it is at the moment. On this moment The M24 Chaffee is the fastest and most visible light tank at its tier (77 km/h and 390 m, respectively). The safety factor is also high for its size and amounts to 440 HP.

Yes, there are also negative aspects in the form of a weapon that is not the most penetrating, I would say even a weakly penetrating weapon and a small ammo capacity for it. But still, the main characteristics that a light tank should have in the M24 Chaffee are at the highest level. It’s stupid to say that playing the LT is a simple task, but among all the variety of this type of technique, “Chaffik” is quite easy to use and very effective even at the very bottom of the list. If playing light tanks is too difficult for you or you don’t like it, then there is no point in buying the M24 Chaffee, but I highly recommend it to everyone else.

M7

There is a decent-sized category of tanks in the game, which combine the features of several types at once, are intermediate or even tanks “in a different skin.” American medium tank M7 is one of them. In terms of the weight and gun of the tank, it is quite average, but in terms of other characteristics I would like to call it light. Excellent mobility, almost 20 horses per ton and a high maximum speed of 60 km/h forward and 20 km back are more prone to the performance characteristics of a light tank. And the armor says the same thing, because it is quite weak and only protects against level 3 machine guns.

The M7 cannot play a classic medium tank, and certainly positional play is not for it (commonly due to weak armor and mediocre gun stabilization). But the LT style is much more effective, because for this we have both speed and good camouflage (the tank is low in silhouette, but of course the problem is that it is not an LT, which means there is no bonus to camouflage), as well as suitable weapons, very rapid-fire and “biting”, but also penetrating, especially with gold shells.

The M7 is definitely not for everyone, but it has a trick. I advise fairly skilled players to buy it, especially fans of fast vehicles (including LTs).

T67

“Imba” is the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to the T67 Tier 5 tank destroyer. Unfortunately (that's right, "unfortunately"), this is so. This tank has simply excellent mobility with one of the best power-to-weight ratios in the game, and the maximum speed back and forth is at the level of a light tank. The T67 also impresses with its stealth. Even a firing T67 is very difficult to detect. And while you don’t see him, he will dismantle you at lightning speed due to his extremely powerful weapon. Good penetration on the AP (although one of the weakest on the level), almost instantaneous reduction, and an incredibly high rate of fire. The tank's damage per minute is simply overwhelming (more than 2000 damage per minute at level 5!). So, among other things, this tank has a full rotation turret, which sometimes allows you to play very aggressively, spin opponents without a turret (mainly tank tanks and self-propelled guns), and also not move the tank’s body when playing from the bushes. The last plus makes it possible to maintain the tank's camouflage while standing, and also not to reset the bonus from the camouflage net.

Among the shortcomings of the tank, I would like to note the terrible armor, which can be penetrated by land mines with full damage (starting with a 75mm caliber without problems), as well as the small ammunition load, which, with such intensity of fire, can quickly lead to its devastation. However, these disadvantages in no way compensate for the advantages of the T67 and do not make it balanced. The tank is too strong, and in my opinion should be nerfed. But if you don't care about this aspect or just want to feel more power on the battlefield, then the T67 is simply a clear choice for you.

AMX ELC Bis

The so-called “Yolka” is one of the most popular and fun tanks at its level. The high maximum speed and simply huge specific power, one of the best in the game (37 horses per ton without modules), contribute to the popularity of the tank. The advantages also include the extremely small size and the presence of a tower. Due to the size, AMX ELC Bis can derive two benefits - excellent passive illumination (with a pumped-up camouflage and camouflage network, you will only see the Yolka from an x-ray distance) and very active reconnaissance (due to its small dimensions it is very difficult to get into it).

The tank's gun is surprising; for such a small mass and the same size, the gun is very powerful. The 90mm gun deals a lot of damage and has strong penetration, especially on gold (almost 250mm). That is, even at the very bottom of the list, “Yolka” is capable of not only shining, but also causing damage.

The negative aspects of the tank I would include the terrible stabilization of this gun, very poor damage per minute, as well as the turret. There is a tower, but the rotation sector is incomplete and very small. Also, due to its size, this light tank has a very dense arrangement of modules, which greatly affects its critability. Another not-so-obvious disadvantage is that there are only two crew members in the tank, which means that the incapacitation of any of them greatly affects subsequent effectiveness on the battlefield. Also, the visibility is not the strongest (only 360m, which is not enough for a light vehicle of this level).

But despite its shortcomings, AMX ELC Bis wins the hearts of many players. The advantages of the tank allow you to play the role of both a thoughtful and careful LT-water, and a perky, merry fellow rushing headlong across the battlefield. The tank is perfect for playing for fun. Even though it’s a LT, I recommend it to absolutely everyone, even beginners, to purchase it for their hangar (Yolka is a good place to gain experience in playing light tanks correctly).

O-I Experimental

This Japanese heavy tank turns out to be the last on my list of the most interesting tanks at tier 5. Quite often introduction new technology"breaks" the random battle mode. Not everyone is ready for the emergence of new technology, especially a new type. This was the case with the advent of Japanese TTs. If tanks up to level 5 are nothing special, then from level 5 and above their influence on the battle is quite decent. O-I Exp. not just a heavy tank, it is a World of Tanks mastodon in terms of size and weight. The tank has a huge mass of 100 tons (!!!), as well as very large dimensions, the largest at its level at least. The advantages include surprisingly (for such a mass) fairly good mobility with a maximum speed of as much as 40 km/h and not the worst specific power of 12 horses per ton. The visibility of 360 meters, as for a TT, is very good. Surprisingly, with such a mass, the tank has rather mediocre armor. Often even our classmates penetrate us without any problems, and non-penetration or ricochets mainly pass through the VLD zone, where the armor is located at a strong slope.

The top 100mm gun is very powerful, both in terms of damage per minute and one-time damage (as much as 300 units of damage per shot). Such damage is in most cases 2/3 or half of the total strength of any of the enemy tanks (we are talking about classmates, that is, about level 5 vehicles). Such huge numbers make other tanks very afraid of this heavy tank.

But there are no pros without cons. The weapon is very powerful, but has poor stabilization and aiming, penetration on gold is also not great, which makes the fight against tanks of higher levels very problematic. There is armor, but as already described above, it is not that good, the problem is mainly due to the lack of slope of the armor almost throughout the entire tank. The tank is lively, but not the most agile, which allows you to wind it up without any problems. The huge size tells us about monstrously poor camouflage and frequent suffering from artillery. In addition to spinning, short enemies can simply rub against the tank and cause damage to it, because the tank is very high and the gun simply will not go down too low on the side.

Despite the tank's unpleasant aspects, it is very strong. And the feeling when such huge amounts of damage hits the enemy is simply indescribable. A tank can resist and be dangerous even alone, but it is especially strong when supported by at least a small number of allies. The tank’s peculiar advantages and disadvantages make it a “black sheep” compared to many heavy tanks of its level. Whether this is good or bad is up to you to decide. But no one forbids you to ride it and form your own opinion, and Furthermore I will say, he recommends it.

That's the whole list of tanks that, in my opinion, are the most interesting at level 5. But I want to note that this does not mean that there is nothing interesting among other equipment. I described both generally recognized strong tanks and those that were simply interesting to me.

Therefore, you may well disagree with my top tanks and create your own, which I will also be happy about.

Now the time has come to pay attention to level 5 tanks, which allow us to cross the border of the “sandbox” and go into the crazy world of hardcore battles and unpredictable battles. We have already reviewed all the levels of the “sandbox” and managed to ride on level 5 combat units, so we can safely say that we have selected a number of the most convenient and versatile tanks that are worth paying attention to and that will allow you to feel comfortable on the virtual fields battles.

BDR G1B

And the first combat unit becomes french tank called BDR1G, which at first causes laughter and irony, however, in top condition it is capable of a lot. The first thing worth noting is its powerful weapon, which is capable of penetrating thick armor and inflicting damage of 240 HP.

In addition, it is worth noting a good margin of safety and acceptable reloading. The only disadvantages are the tank's dimensions and weak hull armor.

Pz III/IV

Next in our row is the German medium tank, which at first does not inspire confidence due to its technical indicators, but in reality it turns out to be a fairly universal tank. Its dynamism can be the envy of any similar tank at this level; thanks to its powerful engine and lightweight hull, it is capable of covering distance and deployment in the shortest possible time. This allows for a mixture of tactical options that can change the outcome of the battle. In reverse, the tank reaches 18 km/h. which allows you to leave the place where a hot battle is breaking out in time.

It is worth noting that the hull is well armored and can withstand a direct hit to the tank’s forehead. But the weapon of this unit is not as powerful as we would like. It has a weak penetration rate and weak damage, however, all this pays off with a high rate of fire.

Here we come to our virtual star among all tanks, the legendary KV-1. As in history, this tank has excellent hull armor and a versatile weapon that is capable of striking fear into its enemies and destroying anyone who intends to engage this tank in close combat. True, there were some drawbacks, the brightest negative side is the maneuverability and speed of the tank, which will not allow you to act effectively and take the right positions in time.

In addition, tanks that have good performance in this direction will be able to spin you and destroy you if they can penetrate you, but you will definitely lose the caterpillar. Therefore, it is worth remembering that the KV-1 is a pressure tank and in no case should you operate it alone, as this is comparable to suicide.

Crusader

Now we have reached the fastest representative of our line of the best Tier 5 tanks, which is the British Crusader tank, which is able to amaze us with its maneuverability, rate of fire and speed. Although this tank is not so powerful, it is capable of occupying the necessary point on the map in the shortest possible time in order to conduct active shelling and reconnaissance of the territory.

Thanks to its small profile, it is able to dodge enemy shots and use terrain features that allow it to hide from enemy fire and peek out in time to shoot. If you like active play, know how to use the “carousel” correctly and are not afraid of the cardboard appearance of the tank, then this combat unit is at least recommended to you.

And closing our line of the best representatives of level 5 is the American T-67, which inspires fear in its enemies. This small tank has powerful weapons, excellent maneuverability and speed, has a small body and is simply easy to operate. This combat unit is a fairly popular tank among players, which they want to play with, which is recognized and which fully justifies itself.

That's all the tanks that are worth paying attention to. They will allow you to play comfortably and confidently, allow you to make some mistakes and, thanks to their increased survivability, will give you the opportunity to get used to enemy tanks, which will often be encountered at this level of battles.

IN game World of Tanks the most important thing is tanks. Here are presented real-life combat vehicles, each of which has its own unique history. This is partly why this game is so popular in the world. Each player finds something for himself good tank in World of Tanks and calls it ideal. But in this review we will look at the most attractive cars that are fun to play and fight for the victory of your team.

It is quite difficult to select the 10 best World of Tanks tanks. After all, each car is good in its own way. Some tanks will be very fast, some will be powerful, and some will combine both high speed and power. And what criteria are used to determine the efficiency of the unit? However, each level has its own most successful combat vehicles, which we will try to highlight.

Let us immediately note that we will begin our review of good tanks in World of Tanks right from the fifth level, since below this level frivolous combat vehicles are used. They can hardly be called effective and interesting. IN WOT game Serious battles begin at level five and above.

Level 5

To summarize, there are only 3 best tanks in World of Tanks at level 5. The first of them is the Soviet KV-1 unit. This is a fairly well-known Soviet machine, which had great success on the battlefields against fascist Germany. This tank has a solid historical component, powerful all-round armor and versatile weapons. All this gave the tank a serious reputation in the game. Almost every older generation gamer considers it their duty to buy this tank and upgrade it to the maximum.

The second best tank in World of Tanks 2017 is also the Soviet T-34. She also has rich story. It is believed that the T-34 combat vehicles changed the course of the war. In the game, this tank is valued for its high maneuverability, as well as for its 57 mm ZiS-4 gun, which easily penetrates armor but causes little damage. In the WOT game there are two popular development branches for medium and heavy tanks. At the fifth level, gamers have the opportunity to purchase similar combat vehicles.

There is also a cool one, but it’s quite difficult to get. In the game, users call it an “imba,” that is, a machine that is out of balance. Has all-round armor. It can barely be penetrated by a level 5 cannon. Even “sixes” often cannot damage the armor of the KV-220 tank.

Level 5 Bonus

A bonus at the fifth level is the T67 combat vehicle - this is an American anti-tank self-propelled gun with high speed of movement, stealth, low silhouette, and most importantly, high armor penetration. The unit easily destroys tanks of its level with one shot.

Level 6

At the sixth level, the best tanks in World of Tanks are represented by one Soviet and two British combat vehicles. It’s worth starting with the legendary T-34-85, monuments to which are in many Russian cities.

The T-34-85 is a Soviet medium tank that has maneuverability and a good gun that can penetrate tough armor. High accuracy, rate of fire, and maneuverability make the unit popular. His demand is also explained by his rich combat history, but this does not play a role in his fighting qualities, which are at their best. With the right tactics, positioning, and ammo, many experienced players have won victories in this Tier 6 tank against more powerful Tier 8 tanks.

The second good tank in World of Tanks at level 6 is the English Cromwell. The car is good for extras. Unlike the Soviet T-34-85, the British Cromwell has no armor at all, which is why the vehicle has enormous speed and a high-speed gun. All this gives a significant advantage to the player who, without any problems, “shines” enemy tanks for his team.

The third tank of the level is the Sherman Firefly. This combat vehicle has a cool OQF 17-pdr Gun Mk. VII, which allows you to effectively fight even against older tanks of the 8th level.

Level 6 Bonus

The bonus at this level is the Soviet KV-2 tank with very powerful armor and an M-10 152 mm cannon. This vehicle is capable of fighting even with level 10 units, not to mention combat vehicles of its own level. However, getting this tank is quite difficult. Therefore, it is extremely rare in the game, which cannot be said about the T-34-85. This is one of the most popular models, which is in the arsenal of almost every player.

Level 7

According to many gamers, the seventh level of the game is the most balanced. Consequently, it is difficult to single out equipment that would have significant advantages over other combat vehicles.

The first good tank in World of Tanks at level seven is the IS or IS-2. Both cars are almost identical to each other. Therefore, we will add them to this list. IS - one of the most popular tanks in the game, is quite famous because of its powerful gun, mobility and armored turret. If such a seventh level tank gets into battle with equal vehicles and tanks of more than low level, then the allied team has it easy - the IS always goes straight into battle. And often this ends well. If the IS gets into battle with tanks for more than high level, then shooting from cover is a good tactic that also brings results.

The second unit is the Tiger I. This German heavy tank took part in World War II. It also has a rich history, and in-game its execution is simply amazing. The vehicle has 1500 hit points and is equipped with a Kw.K gun. 43 L/71. Playing on such a tank is pleasant and fun. But if a vehicle gets into battle with tanks of a higher level, then tactics need to be developed as for anti-tank artillery.

The third best vehicle is the T29 heavy tank with powerful armor that sometimes even level 9 vehicles cannot penetrate. Of course, it has its advantages, but there are also weaknesses. A good balance between armor, mobility and damage makes this vehicle almost universal and convenient for use on the battlefield, which explains the popularity of the tank.

Premium tank level 7

At level 7, the best premium tank in World of Tanks is the so-called “Gatling gun”, or “flea” - this is the German E-25 anti-tank self-propelled gun. It's a very small car and hard to get into. It causes a lot of problems for clumsy and “blind” vehicles such as Soviet TT tanks. The E-25 does little damage. However, the rate of fire and accuracy infuriate opponents who fall under the gun of this “flea.” Unfortunately, this car has become so popular that it is no longer even on sale. However, there are no fewer of them on the battlefield, because those players who managed to buy it or win it for completing tasks actively use it to “farm” money.

The seventh level is so rich in cool tanks that the following vehicles are worth highlighting separately:

  1. T-34-1.
  2. Spähpanzer SP I C.
  3. LTTB.
  4. M41 Walker Bulldog.

All these models should also be on this list.

Level 8

At this level, there are already quite serious tanks that take part in company battles, global maps, fortified areas.

In World of Tanks is the best Tier 8 tank is IS-3. This vehicle is ideal for all of the above battle modes due to its frontal armor on the turret and hull, high-quality gun, low silhouette and mobility. All this makes such a tank successful on the battlefield.

In second place is the FCM 50t - a very difficult machine to play on which beginners will constantly lose. It's slow and big tank without armor, which is easy to destroy. However, experienced players set records with this tank again and again. As an analogue, we can offer AMX Chasseur de chars. This car has even weaker armor. However, the camouflage factor of this tank is high, making it difficult to detect. The model also has a very high speed, which is guaranteed by the Maybach HL 295 F engine with 1200 horsepower. Among the best medium tanks in World of Tanks, the AMX Chasseur de chars deserves attention first of all. You just need to know how to play it, and such a machine cannot be recommended for combat to a beginner.

AMX 50100 is next best tank Level 8, which is often found in company battles and in fortified areas. Such a combat vehicle is capable of destroying any tank of its class in 1-2 shots and quickly “escaping” from the scene of the crime. This is exactly how most players try to use the machine. The biggest drawback of the tank is its long reload time, lasting 50 seconds. During this time, the tank is “meat” for the enemy. The second weak point is the lack of armor. However, this is typical for many French cars.

Level 8 Bonus

Bonus tanks of the eighth level are the British-made Charioteer tank destroyer and the Japanese medium tank STA 1. These are hidden combat vehicles that are perfectly camouflaged. Therefore, it is appropriate to use them as support for allied tanks that are fighting on the main battlefield.

Level 9

The improved tank VK 45.02 (P) Ausf is an imba (that is, an unbalanced vehicle), which, with its new durable armor, represents one of the best tanks at later levels. The technique perfectly holds back the enemy’s onslaught and can be at the forefront of the attack. However, it is important for her not to “shine.” After all, the sides of the tank are very weak, and a shell hit from the side will be fraught with bad consequences. But mobility partly solves this problem.

The second model is the German medium tank E 50. This is a universal vehicle that can suddenly open up in an unexpected area of the map, coming from behind enemy lines. It can also be used as a heavy tank for frontal attack. Thanks to high mobility and a powerful, accurate gun, playing the “epis” (as this model is called by players) is a lot of fun. This machine gives the player many options for fighting, and he himself decides which tactics to choose. This opens up great opportunities for an experienced gamer, but even a beginner will find it quite pleasant to drive this tank. However, if a player has reached level 9, then he can hardly be called a beginner.

M103 is the third best heavy tank of tier 9. This American example has high armor at the front, which can withstand hits from large calibers. Therefore, it is appropriate to use it in battle as the main penetrating force. And if the map allows, then due to its good mobility the tank allows you to play “cat and mouse” with enemies.

Level 9 Bonus

The bonus vehicle at level 9 is the Soviet medium tank T-54. The developers deteriorated this vehicle several times, reducing the thickness of the hull armor. However, this tank is still very popular and a worthy contender for the title of best. High speed, low silhouette and mobility - these are the advantages of the car.

Level 10

At the last, 10th, level there are the best tanks, which are to some extent the result of the technical development of each nation. All cars of this level have their own “chips” and have good characteristics. Naturally, there are even imbats such as ART-SAU, PT 10 and Waffenträger auf which must be replaced.

In general, it is almost impossible to single out the best World of Tanks tier 10 tank. After all, we are always talking about extremes. There are huge “cast iron walls” that are difficult to break through, there are powerful drum heavy vehicles, as well as diverse medium tanks. Consequently, the player will have to make a choice and determine for himself which tank is better in World of Tanks. After all, the excellent balancing of the game does not allow us to identify the best car, which would be superior to others in all (or at least half) of the parameters. Therefore, among the “dozens” it is impossible to single out just one tank.

Conclusion

Each player determines the best combat vehicle for yourself to the best of your abilities and playing style. Some people like to butt heads with heavy tanks, while others prefer to quickly move around the map in order to find targets for their team. The developers very carefully worked out the characteristics of all combat vehicles in the game and eliminated situations where most players choose the same unit, forgetting about the others.

→ World of tanks level 5 owner: pz 4

If you've ever watched history programs on TV, then you've most likely come across programs like "Tiger vs. T-34" and the like. Indeed, until a certain time I was sure that Germany had only Tigers and Panthers. After playing world of tanks and reading the history of tank building of the warring powers, I learned that wot German branch consists of far from two tanks.

And having become more closely acquainted with the Tiger and its history, I wondered in surprise: why were the television people comparing two completely different tanks: they have different classes, different purposes and completely different numbers. This is the same as comparing a hair clipper with a lawn mower! In general, you can't trust television. The T-34 tank is the most popular tank in the USSR. Germany also had the most popular tank, but it is very rarely seen in movies or in historical programs: this is the pz 4 wot tank.

It is this tank that needs to be compared with the thirty-four. It’s not for nothing that even in the game these cars are on the same level. It is the pzkpfw iv wot that is the “workhorse” armed forces Germany in those days, while Tigers and Panthers were quite rare. I will write this article about an undeservedly forgotten tank.

Tank wot pz 4: versatility and alternativeness

“Pazik,” as fans affectionately call it, is a universal tank. It has excellent driving characteristics, armor that can protect against low-level equipment, as well as a wide range of possible tactics on the battlefield. At our service is one of the best medium-sized tanks world of tanks – pz 4. Although, if you think about it, the game developers managed best to create two layers of wot technology: the 5th and 8th levels. All tanks here are good.

Like the other tier 5 medium tank - the m4 sherman - the wot pz4 has a choice between two different weapons. Here they are:

As you can see, the selection really resembles a Sherman. The landmine of PZ 4 World of Tanks is a capricious weapon. It's inaccurate, but it's killer. An alternative is 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48. The gun has acceptable accuracy and an excellent rate of fire.

Personally, my choice is 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48. The weapon is more versatile and allows me to play both in close combat and shoot the enemy at medium distance. This way I can perform on pz 4 world of tanks more tasks than with a dumbbell (so for appearance sometimes called the 10.5 cm KwK 42 L/28 gun).

However, I cannot say that a landmine is a bad weapon. It just requires a different approach to the game, that's all. Close-range combat is desirable with this gun. It was precisely because of this that I abandoned the gun: despite moderate armor, the PZ 4 does not last long in close combat in the world of tanks, and with a land mine, the tank has a greater chance of dying quickly. But the reward for this is guaranteed HE damage, even against armored targets.

But what to hide - when I entered the battle on wot pzkpfw iv to take screenshots for this article, in the nearest village I was brutally “killed” by another groove with one shot from a 10.5 cm KwK 42 L/28. So both guns will be useful on this tank - try both options and see which is closer to you.

Recently, the 10.5 cm KwK 42 L/28 gun has become much more popular. People began to buy world of tanks gold and premium shells more often. The “golden” shell of the pzkpfw 4 wot high explosive is cumulative, with armor penetration of 150mm and damage of 350 HP - a more than impressive argument at the fifth level. This picture is observed not only with the “groove”, but also with other vehicles in the German world of tanks branch, equipped with this weapon.

In patch 0.8.0 world of tanks pz4 was rebalanced. The Shmalturm turret and the sixth level 7.5 cm KwK L70 gun were taken from him. This gun had high accuracy, rate of fire and armor penetration of 150mm. The tank was too powerful for the fifth level. However, for fans of the “old” version of the vehicle in the game, the world of tanks PZ 4 has become available as premium tank Level 6 PzKpfw IV Schmalturm worth 3750 gold coins.

In conclusion, I want to say that the “groove” is an excellent tank even after the serious nerf in 0.8.0. Well, at the same time, say hello to the “Germanphiles”, in whose forum lament I believed, before world of tanks german branch. And now I see that their whining is empty and false.

Medium tanks are the most versatile type of combat vehicle in the world. You can use them for reconnaissance, to go on the main front of the offensive, and to provide support from the flanks. Their armor is generally thin for the first line of attack, but entry levels, they may well replace heavy tanks.

We have studied absolutely all the medium tanks currently presented (late April - early May 2016) in World of Tanks and are now ready to tell you which of them are the best.

Tier III - Type 97 Chi-Ha (Japan)

Level 3 - Japanese Samurai Type 97 Chi-Ha. An enjoyable tank to play through, but due to its location not in the most popular nation, it is not known to many.

Having good dynamics (11 l/s per ton accelerates the vehicle quite well to 43 km/h) and mediocre armor, it has a rather interesting weapon. Damage - 70 units. Good damage, allows you to destroy “classmates” in a couple of shots, and this gun has a penetration of 81 mm. With such penetration, even level 5 tanks will not be an insurmountable problem. There is not a lot of health (like most low-level tanks), but vertical aiming angles of -15...+20° allow you to play from any hills, thereby showing only the turret and reducing the chance of taking damage.

Advantages:

  • excellent top gun,
  • wide vertical aiming angles,
  • compact sizes.

Flaws:

  • the armor is generally thin,
  • the dynamics are so-so
  • The gun's accuracy is low.

Level IV - Matilda (UK)

Level 4 and Matilda awaits us. This heavy medium tank is a terror among low-level machine gunners.

Two huge advantages are armor and weapons. There are 3 top guns to choose from, but we'll talk about the QF 2-pdr Mk. X-B. Damage of 55 units will not surprise anyone even at level 4, but with a penetration of 121 mm and a rate of fire of 28 rpm, we are able to consistently penetrate even tanks at level 6. And the Matilda armor was delivered. The all-round hull armor of 75/70/55 allows us to deflect most projectiles at level 4, but if we also “diamond”, we will be able to deflect a shot from a tank even at level 6. And yes, the turret is still the same 75 mm.

Oh yes, dynamics... there are none. Or rather, it's dynamics heavy tank... a very heavy tank (maximum speed 24 km/h, but the good news is that we pick it up quite quickly).

Advantages:

  • excellent booking for level 4,
  • high projectile speed,
  • durability lasts for a long time,
  • excellent gun depression angles,
  • side screens.

Flaws:

  • The armor on the stern is slightly thin.

Level V - T-34 (USSR)

At level 5 we have a Soviet legend military history and one of the most balanced tanks in the game - T-34. Most beginners consider it their duty to pump up this tank first.

The top gun ZiS-4 (in common parlance a “hole puncher”) penetrates 112 mm of armor with a basic shell, and although the damage of 85 units is not great, with a reload of 3.4 seconds the DPM produces 1500 units, which in total is equal to almost four “thirty-fours”. Also, with such a reload it is very convenient to keep the enemy on the “harp”. In terms of mobility, it is not offended: an excellent turning speed (40 degrees/sec), a specific power of 17 l/s allows us to quickly begin our movement, and a maximum speed of 56 km/h will allow us to quickly change flanks in unforeseen cases. The armor of the Teshka is 52 mm in the turret front and 45 mm in the hull front, and although the VLD has a rational slope of 60°, you can’t expect frequent ricochets and non-penetrations.

So it’s better to try not to expose yourself and, if possible, play from the terrain (since the vertical aiming angles are -8...+20°, and because of the small hill it is possible to shoot “damage”).

Advantages:

  • good dynamics,
  • excellent weapon with high DPM,
  • fast turret rotation speed,
  • versatility.

Flaws:

  • There seems to be armor, but it doesn’t seem to be there.

Level VI - Cromwell (UK)

"Cromweller" on the 6th level.

British? Yes. "Cardboard"? Yes... "Imba"? Yes! Why? The maximum speed of 64 km/h and good camouflage allow you to play the role of both a medium and light tank, without falling into 9 levels. He is also capable of standing up for himself. A gun with good damage of 135 units, high penetration and a reload of 2 seconds makes it possible to quickly annihilate enemies caught in the crosshairs... as well as artillery!

Despite the pressed oatmeal armor and presence in the branch not with the most interesting “top”, this tank is worthy to remain in your hangar and bring great pleasure.

Advantages:

  • excellent dynamics;
  • excellent vertical aiming angles;
  • excellent penetration, rate of fire and accuracy of the gun.

Flaws:

  • weak reservation,
  • poor stabilization in motion.

Level VII - T20 (USA)

At the 7th level there is a tank such as the T20. Many players unfairly consider it quite passable, which is fundamentally wrong.

Well, yes, again a fast tank (18 horses per ton of weight with a maximum speed of 56 km/h will not let you stand in the bushes) without much armor, but let’s look at the gun. 160 mm penetration... and 240 damage! This is no longer a picking stick, but a normal adult tool. But we pay for this damage with very mediocre stabilization of the gun - it will not always be possible to hit while moving.

Advantages:

  • very good dynamics,
  • excellent aiming angles,
  • biting weapon.

Flaws:

  • weak reservation,
  • poor stabilization.

Tier VIII - M26 Pershing (USA)

At level 8, the tank named after the general is the M26 Pershing. The most “medium” tank. Both in gameplay and characteristics.

It is more than universal for different situations. But versatility is the essence of this class. The gun has neither strong disadvantages nor advantages: it penetrates 180 and 240 “damage” with a cooldown of 7.5 seconds and reduction in 2.3 seconds. The armor does not stand out: the turret is 127 mm in the forehead, and the VLD exceeds 101 mm. There is also a slope of the armor, but the given armor of 180-190 mm will not always be enough in the fight against classmates, not to mention the “tens”.

Although the dynamics are not comparable to the T20, the tank confidently picks up speed up to 48 km/h, although you don’t even think about “shine”.

Advantages:

  • good gun stabilization,
  • high accuracy and armor penetration.

Flaws:

  • relatively thin armor,
  • easily critable ammunition rack.

Level IX - T-54 (USSR)

Level 9 and we are greeted by the T-54 - one of the most versatile tanks in the game. It can quite successfully replace the “heavies” thanks to the excellent turret armor. And thanks to its relatively compact size and good dynamics, it can also serve as a reconnaissance aircraft.

It is also suitable for supporting a team from the second line or from the flank - its gun has acceptable penetration and rate of fire. However, you shouldn’t do the same thing the whole battle - carefully monitor the progress of the battle and use the appropriate tactics based on the circumstances.,

Advantages:

  • thick turret armor,
  • high rate of fire of the gun,
  • excellent dynamics.

Flaws:

  • thin hull armor,
  • weak gun declination angles.

Level X - Bat.-Châtillon 25 t (France)

The best medium tank for platoon play is the French Bat.-Chatillon 25t. Excellent dynamics - distinguishing feature“Batshata”: a quick press up and an equally quick retreat in the event of a large concentration of enemies is not alien to him. The “French” has a drum loading mechanism for 5 projectiles with good damage for each, but, taking into account the poor stabilization, it will be possible to effectively inflict “damage” only with complete aiming, respectively, while standing still.

"Batshat" - "cardboard". In the best traditions of French tank building. The best tactic would be not to expose yourself, maintaining your health, but if you are confident in your superiority, then you can rush in and “carousel” your enemies. If you love drum tanks, high dynamics and are not bothered by the almost complete lack of armor - the “French” is your choice!

Among other things, the Batillion Chatillon is one of the most beautiful and unusual tanks in the game.

Advantages:

  • excellent dynamics,
  • high projectile damage,
  • drum instrument,
  • good rate of fire.

Flaws:

  • poor gun stabilization,
  • low accuracy on the move,
  • relatively thin armor.
