Sooner or later, every owner of a property has a situation where they need to remove a pole from the ground. But how best to do this if the pillar also has a concrete base. In fact, all you need is “golden hands” and a car jack. Here is a method that will solve the problem in less than an hour.
Tools

Extraction technique

This procedure should be repeated until the bitter end.
Last summer, at our dacha, my son and I needed to pull out of the ground a 1.5 m pillar driven into it in the form of steel pipe diameter 120 mm. There were no tools at hand, and I didn’t want to dig out the pipe in the drizzling rain. And then the idea occurred to me how to do it.A long crowbar was applied vertically to the pipe, the lower end of which was at a short distance from the ground, the pipe and the crowbar were tightly wrapped two or three times with a rope moistened with water, and placed pipe a stop in the form of a small stump of a log (Fig. 1).
Then the son turned scrap at its upper end perpendicular to the post. The rope ring strongly compressed the post and the crowbar, which, having reached the stop, became a lever (Fig. 2). Thus, over several times, the pillar was removed from the ground without the use of any special mechanisms or digging it up.
If the pole sits very firmly in the ground, it is better to use two crowbars (or other levers), which need to be placed on the pole from different sides and wrapped around one common rope. Sometimes it turned out that the line of the ropes did not coincide with the direction of the chain, then the shovel began to fall to the side. Since the lateral force is relatively small, it is easy to compensate for it with a simple support.
It must be said that it is difficult or even impossible to do without an additional tool. I used a sledgehammer to drive shovels into the ground. A narrow spatula and trowel used to remove soil around the post, and used an ax with a pipe welded to it to lift up the concrete block.
Can work alone
It is, of course, more convenient to pull out blocks together, but it was possible to work with a winch and a wagon alone. I pulled the winch cable all the way, and then helped move the block with a wagon. Then the cycle was repeated until the moment when the column crawled out of the ground to such an extent that the winch’s traction was sufficient.
