To do this, you have to do daily cleaning, put things in their places, do timely laundry, and most importantly, fill each individual room with a pleasant aroma, so that household members returning after school and work feel a gentle and pleasant smell, giving a feeling of lightness and peace of mind.

For these purposes, in most cases, special flavors or air fresheners are used, produced on a production scale and sold in any household department. At the same time, the cost household chemicals with a pleasant smell ranges from economy to elite class, where budget options They wear out very quickly, and not every family can afford expensive specimens.

To rid yourself of fixed costs to purchase fragrances, you can make a unique air freshener designed for use in apartments, houses, and cars, with your own hands. And in the recipes home production Almost all the ingredients in the composition are natural and are present on kitchen shelves.

Many housewives have already tried homemade fragrances, where the main elements of the composition were essential oils. But there is a huge variety of recipes that will make it possible to decorate every separate room home with a special smell.

Pros and cons of homemade air fresheners

Modern air freshener manufacturers offer consumers a wide variety of different scents that not only fill the room with a special aura, but also help get rid of unpleasant odors. Modern options flavors can be found in the form of aerosols sprayed in a closed space, balls that can be neatly folded in a decorative basket, air freshener forms in the form of crystals can be used to decorate a shelf with souvenirs, and designer containers, inside of which there is a liquid or gel mass, will become an interior decoration any room.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find natural ingredients in the proposed flavorings. For example, fruit and floral scents are created using chemically complex extracts or from natural oils. The process of making fragrances with frosty freshness, sea wind or forest clearing is a little more complicated. In these cases, specialists have to select and compose appropriate formulas, combine different chemical elements that, during the spraying process, enter the human respiratory tract. Invisible drops affect his brain activity, slightly irritate the mucous membranes, thanks to which a person feels the proposed aromas.

It has been proven that odors made by mixing chemical elements, do not cause serious harm to the human body, but with frequent use the sense of smell may be impaired.

Price policy high-quality air fresheners for an apartment or house cannot boast of being affordable, and purchasing cheaper counterfeits made in a neighboring house or budget options is inappropriate, since you will have to purchase an additional can or balls every week.

The presented facts, one might say, encourage housewives to engage in independent creativity, thanks to which they will be able to reproduce unusual flavors with their own hands.

But before you begin to create a pleasant masterpiece, you need to familiarize yourself with the advantages and disadvantages of home air fresheners.

Let's start with the positives.

  • In self-production, only natural ingredients are used that are not capable of negatively affecting human health.
  • Majority essential oils, which are used in homemade flavoring recipes, bring only benefits. Aromatherapy procedures are carried out using the same essential oils.
  • It is very difficult for allergy sufferers and asthmatics to choose commercially produced flavors, while in homemade Air freshener will use the safest ingredients.
  • Each person will be able to independently prepare their favorite scent without making large expenditures.
  • It has been proven by many housewives that air fresheners made at home last much longer than the options sold in household chemical departments.
  • A very important factor is the ability to independently adjust the intensity of the prepared aroma. If necessary, you can emphasize the lightness, or fill the aura of the room with a more languid scent.

Having become familiar with the benefits of a home air freshener, every person immediately wants to start creating their favorite scent. But before you start, you need to familiarize yourself with some of the disadvantages of artisanal flavor production.

  • To make the perfect incense you will have to use a lot of free time. This factor concerns not only the selection of the desired aroma, but also the preparation of a suitable consistency. Don’t forget about the required intensity of smell. Some people manage to create their favorite scent on the second try, while others achieve their goal only on the fifth experiment.
  • Another reason for refusing self-made air freshener is laziness and lack of desire. But if you get over yourself and show interest in the work, everyone can decorate their aura own home the most unsurpassed smells.

Unfortunately, the rhythm of life of a modern person leaves virtually no opportunity for a short break. And in evening time there is simply no energy or emotional charge left to spend several hours experimenting with composing a bouquet for an air freshener.

It is best to choose a day off and try to create a masterpiece without haste. Such an interesting activity will attract the attention of household members, and after a couple of minutes all family members will be busy with work.

What can be done?

Modern manufacturers of air fresheners offer their products in different types, for example, in liquid or thick form, in the form of beads or crystals. Any variations of commercially produced flavors can be repeated independently at home. The main thing is to find the necessary recipe and figure out how to prepare a mass of a certain consistency, or use an unusual form.

  • Aerosol. A fairly simple and most common option for making an air freshener. To prepare it, you will need an interestingly shaped container or a bottle with a sprayer. A liquid prepared according to the chosen recipe is poured into the container, after which the sprayer can be activated, thereby filling the rooms with a hand-created scent.

  • Flavoring gel consistency. This type of air freshener is manufactured according to special instructions, where the main component is food gelatin. Containers with the prepared mixture are placed in open space so that the aroma spreads throughout the room.

  • Diffuser. The name is quite mysterious, but in fact there is nothing special. We are talking about a small container in which a liquid flavor is poured. Wooden sticks are placed inside, which absorb the composed bouquet and transmit it into the surrounding air space.

And to give the air freshener an aesthetic appearance, you can add food coloring to the mixture being prepared, so that the balls or crystals will acquire an unusual color scheme.

  • Sachet. This type of air freshener has French roots. Dry components that emit a pleasant smell are placed in breathable material, and the bag is placed anywhere in the room.

It is worth noting that sachets are often used in cars. At the same time, industrial products lose their aromatic qualities after a few weeks, and compositions made at home serve their owner 2 or even 3 times longer.

  • Scented fabric. Just like sachets, in most cases it is used in cars. A piece of felt fabric is used as the main element for making a fragrance, and a liquid air freshener consistency is prepared for impregnation.

Best Recipes

Hearing conversations about fragrances, an image appears in every person’s head with spray containers of air fresheners or sachets small sizes. Moreover, each individual type of incense has a different composition.

IN home decoration For flavorings, small containers resembling jars are in wide demand, into which the ingredients required for the recipe are placed.

It is very important not just to fill the container, but to beautifully create an internal composition, thanks to which the room will not only be filled with a pleasant aroma, but will also receive a unique new decor.

To begin with, it is proposed to consider a fairly simple and very interesting option designing a room scent using orange, cinnamon, cloves and anise. These ingredients will create a warm winter scent that will warm your soul after a grueling journey home during the cold season. If the ingredients of the proposed scent are collected in a plate, saucer or vase, the aroma will be present in the room for a week. If you place the recipe elements in a jar, the smell will last for about a month.

  • When starting to prepare the flavoring, you need to cut the orange into circles, put them in the prepared container and add a few cinnamon sticks.
  • Then place 9 or 10 clove buds and a few anise stars into the vessel. The ratio of elements by quantity can be changed. It all depends on the required intensity of aroma.
  • Next, the container filled with the specified ingredients is filled with water. To bring the flavoring into working condition, the container must be heated. To do this, you can use a water bath, a USB drink heater, or place the container on a hot radiator.

The following recipe uses lemon, rosemary and vanilla as its main ingredients.

  • The lemon is cut into circles or slices, after which it is placed in a prepared jar or container with high walls.
  • 4 sprigs of rosemary and a few drops of vanilla are also sent there.
  • Afterwards, the container is filled with water and placed on a USB heater or radiator.

  • The lime is cut into small circles or slices, after which several sprigs of thyme are added to it.
  • Next, 2-3 drops of vanilla extract are instilled, and mint is placed.
  • Afterwards the container is filled with clean water.

  • A medium-sized hole is made in the central part of the lid, over which tissue paper is attached. It is through this that the composition located inside the jar will be dosed out and mixed with the air in the room.
  • Next, you need to boil a glass of water and dissolve about 3 bags of gelatin in it. Then add a tablespoon of salt to the mixture and pour in another 1 glass, but already cold water.
  • Then add 30 drops of your favorite essential oil and a few drops of gel-based food coloring.
  • Afterwards, the mass is thoroughly mixed and poured into prepared jars. The spilled mixture needs time to cool. It is best to make the preparation in the evening so that the consistency turns into a gel overnight, and in the morning place the containers in all rooms.

The simplest and most effective air freshener are mixtures made from soda. All housewives know that baking soda extremely susceptible to various odors. It will not only give off the aroma of essential oils with which it has interacted according to the intended recipe, but will also be able to destroy unpleasant odors in the room.

  • To prepare the base, you need to take a glass container with a lid. Cut a small hole in the lid round hole and cover it with scrapbooking paper.
  • The paper material must be pierced with a needle, making a lot of holes in it. As an analogue, you can use cotton fabric. And in the worst case scenario, pierce metal cover containers with an ordinary awl.
  • Washed and dried containers are filled with baking soda, up to about half. 10-12 drops of the essential oil scent you like are added on top, after which the consistency must be shaken.
  • If the smell turns out to be insufficient, you can add a few more drops of essential oil inside and also shake it. In this way, you will be able to achieve the required richness of aroma.

  • The required amount of grains is poured into a prepared bag made of breathable material. Then it is tied with a thread and hung in a convenient place.

It is worth noting that the duration of the aromatic properties depends on the type of coffee beans.

Recently, diffusers have become in great demand. In most cases, they are placed in living rooms and bedrooms. And this is not only due to external elegant look, but also the subtly conveyed notes of a finished aroma made with one’s own hands.

  • First you need to choose a container for the diffuser. It is best to use a low vase with a narrowed neck. Next, essential oils are selected, vegetable oil and wooden sticks.
  • Vegetable oil is the first to enter into the process of creating a divine aroma. It must be poured into the prepared container in a small amount. Using aroma oil, dilute the consistency, thereby filling the mass with aroma, and then begin adjusting the intensity of the aroma.
  • Then in ready mixture wooden sticks are placed, which will spread the aroma indoors.

For most housewives, it is very important that the pleasant smell of fresh roses lingers in the bedroom. But no one wants to constantly spend money on buying flowers. A recipe for a stunning flavor made from rose petals will come to the rescue. It is worth noting that the proposed method of preparing an air freshener applies to lilacs, peonies and chrysanthemums.

  • First you need to take a 0.5 liter jar, rinse it and dry it.
  • Next, flower petals and table salt are laid out in layers. Thus, the jar should be filled a little short of the top.
  • Then 50 ml of pharmaceutical alcohol is poured inside, after which the jar must be tightly closed with a lid and put in a dark place for two weeks. You can shake the mass periodically, but do not open the container.
  • After the specified period, the contents of the jar are transferred to a decorative vase and placed in the room where it will be given pleasant aroma.

From famous manufacturers create a pleasant atmosphere at home and help fight unpleasant odors. However, many of them contain components that are extremely harmful to health.

They cause migraines and severe allergic reactions, weaken the immune system, disrupt the functioning of the nervous system and can even provoke the occurrence of oncological diseases. An alternative to them are affordable and natural air fresheners made by yourself.

You can make a home fragrance from the simplest means at hand:

  • ordinary glass jars or transparent vases different sizes;
  • any essential oil;
  • cotton wool;
  • gelatin;
  • baking soda;
  • glycerol;
  • water;
  • sushi sticks;
  • medical alcohol or vodka;
  • any food coloring;
  • fresh or dried flowers;
  • petals;
  • medicinal herbs;
  • natural spices;
  • any unnecessary decorative elements (beads, rhinestones, beads, feathers, large decorative buttons, foam balls).

In this way, a cheap, natural and safe flavor can be produced. However, there is an important component that you absolutely cannot skimp on – high-quality essential oil.

Natural aromatic oil cannot be cheap, because to obtain 1 liter of mint oil, more than 2.5 centners of fragrant leaves are required, and for 1 liter of neroli oil, more than 2 tons of fleur-d’orange are required. By international standards the bottle with aromatic oil must be made of dark glass, and the oil itself must be absolutely natural and have the appropriate mark on the label.

Home fragrances have not only a utilitarian use - to combat unpleasant odors. They are at the same time a means of safe and unobtrusive aromatherapy due to the low concentration of essential oils in their composition, especially when compared with classic aroma lamps.

They will also become a decoration for everyday and festive interior. Most often, such flavors with an appropriate set of essential oils or spices are suitable for creating a New Year or Christmas atmosphere.

Making an aroma diffuser at home is quite simple:

This flavor will last for several months due to the slowly evaporating oil.

You can also make a gel fragrance for your home.

For this you will need:

  • gelatin (2 tsp);
  • glycerol;
  • water;
  • essential oil.

Glycerin helps protect the homemade freshener from drying out, and gelatin perfectly retains the aroma. Pour 2 tsp into a small, shallow jar or wide glass. gelatin, add a little water so that it completely covers the crystals, and stir until they dissolve.

After this, you need to add 1 tsp to the jar. glycerin and 5-6 drops of essential oil and mix everything again. The resulting solution is placed in the refrigerator to allow the mixture to harden.

To make the finished air freshener look beautiful, you can tint it with food coloring, take a wide glass instead of a container, and add shells, beads, rhinestones, sprigs of rosemary, dill or parsley, star anise, dried lemon rings, flower petals or cut ribbon to the mixture orange zest.

An unusual glass for gelatin freshener can be a depulped and dried half of an orange. It can be decorated with outside carnations carnations. They are easily attached to the zest, making it easy to lay out a simple geometric pattern.

They will fill the room with the aromas of spruce, citrus and New Year's baked goods and preserve the feeling of the holiday for a long time.

Soda air freshener

Baking soda is found in every home. It perfectly cleans surfaces and is considered an important component in medicines for colds or heartburn, and is also a good neutralizer of unpleasant odors. And at the same time, soda can preserve the aroma of essential oils for a long time. Thanks to this, it can be used as a base for the easiest homemade flavoring to make.

Baking soda is poured into a jar (about a quarter of the volume), 8-9 drops of essential oil are added and the lid is closed with the holes made in it. large holes. You can replace the oils with cinnamon, anise, cardamom, cloves or cinnamon sticks, or create your own spicy flavor by mixing several ingredients.

Soda flavoring is ideal for the toilet, as it eliminates characteristic odors well. In this case, you can use a regular half-liter or 200-gram glass jar and a plastic lid with large holes made in it.

There is another simple way to combat unpleasant odor in the toilet: essential oil of cedar, pine needles or orange (it is better to take several oils at once) is applied to a piece of cotton wool and left in the sun or hot battery so that the aromas are revealed. After this, the product is ready for use.

Natural flavors

Homemade flavors are made exclusively from natural ingredients, without the use of artificial colors and fragrances. They are environmentally friendly, safe for pets and very affordable in price. Another important advantage is that you can create a unique composition with your own hands using existing aromas or even ordinary spices.

Lavender oil is considered one of the most versatile in this regard. It not only harmoniously combines with the aromas of other essential oils, but also enhances their healing properties. Just a few drops are enough for this. The floral-herbal scent of lavender harmonizes especially well with other floral or herbal scents, as well as with notes of citrus.

Only the essential oil of real (narrow-leaved, or medicinal) lavender has all the properties and characteristics listed above. Even in the form of fragrances, essential oils are not recommended for too long a time. The body needs a break from them.

This may be a one-week “therapeutic window” after 3 weeks of use. Or you can alternate air fresheners based on essential oils with simple aromatic compositions, which are suitable for creating plain water. The main thing is that it is always warmed up.

You can make a home fragrance from:

  • a few branches of rosemary, lemon slices and a few drops of vanilla extract;
  • a few sprigs of fresh or dried thyme, lime slices, dried mint or even mint essence, a few drops of vanilla extract;
  • several cinnamon sticks, a dozen clove buds, several anise stars and orange slices.

The flavor made from dried flowers looks stylish and unusual. The smell emitted by dried plants is not intense or persistent, so it is enhanced with a few drops of the appropriate essential oil, for example rose, if rose petals are used as a basis.

In the case of rosemary and lavender, the natural aroma lasts for a very long time and does not need to be enhanced. Dried plants are placed in a small decorative jar, which needs to be shaken from time to time.

A more lasting effect will be given by a mixture of salt, alcohol and fresh herbs or flower petals:

  1. To do this, pour the plant material into the bottom of the jar and cover it with a thick layer (about 1 cm) of coarse salt (table salt or sea salt).
  2. Alternate layers of salt and herbs or flowers to completely fill the jar.
  3. Pour medical alcohol into the mixture and shake well.
  4. Close the jar and leave it in dark place for a few days.
  5. Sprinkle into small containers and place around the apartment.

A safe and natural air freshener is easy to make with your own hands. This does not require any special skills or special costs. All you need is a little imagination and available materials available in every home. As a result, the rooms will be filled with a fresh and original aroma that you will not find in the store.

Video about creating a home fragrance diffuser

DIY fragrance diffuser:

Today is a DIY post, I decided to make an aroma diffuser with sticks. Firstly, it looks beautiful in the interior, secondly, it is a useful thing because it smells nice, thirdly, I love experiments and all sorts of creative endeavors.

Once upon a time I had a diffuser like this. It cost quite a lot, like most similar flavors. True, it evaporated quite quickly. Moreover, today I am very, very interested in what he evaporated there and how harmful it was. In general, I decided to make such a flavoring with my own hands, precisely for this reason it will not be expensive in terms of monetary costs, but at the same time it will be absolutely natural and harmless.

Naturally, I read everything I could find on this topic online. And through trial and error I came up with my recipe, which I can present on the blog, along the way talking about the pros and cons.

There are three options for making this flavor:
- on alcohol (smoothed off immediately - evaporates quickly);
- DPG (dipropylene glycol), also an alcohol, but dihydric (they say it will also work well, but I also ignored it, since it needs to be specially obtained somewhere);
- on a base oil (any oil, base, baby or even regular vegetable oil, the main thing is that it should be odorless) - this is the option I settled on.

So, you will need:

  • a small (100-250ml) vessel (vase), always with a narrow neck (not plastic);
  • vegetable oil, base oil, or even better, baby oil (it is lighter and colorless), always ODORLESS;
  • vodka or alcohol;
  • essential oil (one or more);
  • reed or rattan sticks 15-30 cm long, depending on the height of the vase. Bamboo kebab sticks, which can be bought at almost any hardware store for pennies, are excellent for this role.
I took vegetable oil, the rest of the essential oils (I like citrus scents with a little mint), and bought a pack at the nearest hardware store bamboo sticks and a small, completely cheap glass decanter-gravy boat.

Preparation of the mixture:

The mixture is prepared according to the principle of 70% base oil + 30% essential oil (mono or a mixture of your favorite oils).

For better evaporation, add vodka or alcohol to the mixture (a tablespoon of vodka per 100 ml of oil).

I saw numerous recipes online where 30-40 drops of essential oil are added per 100 ml of base; I initially tried to do just that, but there is no aroma at all if you stick your nose directly into the bottle. But the goal is different! Therefore, we add essential oil about 1/3 of the total volume of the mixture. It is not necessary to take an expensive essential oil for these purposes.

The volume of the mixture depends on the chosen vase.

How does it work:

🌟 Sticks should be immersed in the aromatic mixture by 1/3 of the length.

🌟 The more sticks, the more intense the aroma.

🌟 To enhance the aroma of the sticks, you need to turn them over regularly.

🌟 If the mixture is exhausted, you can also add essential oil.

Nuances:

  1. If these are kebab sticks, then it is better to cut off the sharp ends, since a porous absorbent surface is needed. I did this with cat claw scissors.
  2. In principle, there will be no intense smell; you should expect a very light aroma. Moreover, if you are constantly indoors, you are unlikely to feel it very much. For example, on the first day, when I just mixed the treasured mixtures, I didn’t feel anything at all, because... I smelled the ether in its most concentrated form.
  3. After about two weeks, I replaced the sticks (since I changed the vase and, accordingly, the sticks needed a different length) and after a while I turned them over, and, oh, miracle, a much brighter aroma appeared. Therefore, I came to the idea that maybe the mixture should have been infused and the sticks added later. Or, perhaps, they become clogged with a mixture that has already eroded, in which case they need to be changed regularly.
  4. After use, the sticks can be dried, beautifully tied with a ribbon and put in the closet as a flavoring agent.
  5. It is better to place the diffuser in close proximity to the place where you want to feel a pleasant aroma; for large rooms this is unlikely to be effective.
  6. If the jar is transparent, then the mixture can be tinted desired color a drop of food coloring.
As a result, I made two aroma diffusers, one for the room and one for the bathroom.

I also thought it would be a good idea for a bedroom. Mix lavender oil into a diffuser, it soothes and promotes healthy sleep, put the fragrance on bedside table and...turn it over when you are going to the kingdom of Morpheus. The aroma lamp loses here, because before you fall asleep, you must remember to put out the candle.

People can close their eyes and not see greatness, horror, beauty, and close their ears and not hear people or words. But they can't help but be swayed by the aroma. For aroma is the brother of breath. It will enter people with its aroma, and they will not be able to protect themselves from it if they want to live. And the aroma penetrates to the very depths, right into the heart, and there it makes a categorical judgment about sympathy and contempt, about disgust and attraction, about love and hatred. Whoever controls the smell controls the hearts of people.
— Patrick Suskind. Perfumer. The story of a killer
In general, the experiment is not ideal, but overall it is interesting. If you want, try it!

And a little more... haiku on the topic from one of the first students of the great Basho:

Flavorings are a useful thing! With their help, you can add a pleasant aroma to your closet, bedroom, car interior, use for personal purposes for spa treatments and much more.

Another question is which flavors do you prefer - synthetic or natural?

The answer seems obvious - of course, it is best to use natural flavors, which are not difficult to make with your own hands using essential oils.

  3. The simplest baking soda that any housewife has in her arsenal.
  4. Fabric bag.
  5. Wax (for making scented candles).

Now that we have understood the properties of essential oils and have chosen the oil that is suitable for ourselves, we can begin preparing the flavor.

Making a car fragrance from essential oils is quite simple; to do this, take soda, the selected oil, a container (plastic or ceramic) and boiled water.

Pour one glass boiled water into a container (basin, bowl, saucepan, etc.), add 10 drops of the selected ether and mix thoroughly.

Pour soda into a separate bowl (1 package is 500 grams, less is possible) and slowly add flavored water to it until the mass becomes like thick sour cream. Mix all this thoroughly and transfer it to molds to harden.

You can choose any molds you like, you can use empty cream jars, etc.

We remove the workpieces for a day to dry. After the time has passed, remove the “scent” from the molds and enjoy the aroma.

To add variety, you can use food coloring and then you will get colored flavors. To do this, simply mix the dye (on the tip of a knife) with baking soda before adding water.

If you are worried that the soda will begin to crumble and lose its shape, place the flavoring in a fabric bag, which you can decorate to your taste and color. This fragrance will decorate your car dashboard and give a wonderful aroma!

In the same way, you can decorate a room using decorative vases that you can fill with colorful scents.

To make scented candles, you will need:

  1. Container for the future candle (jar, glass, etc.)
  2. Thread (floss, regular cotton)
  3. Container for melting wax in a water bath
  4. Wooden stick (you can use a pencil)
  5. Wax, paraffin (whatever is available, you can use ordinary household candles)
  6. Essential oil

First, let's prepare a container for the future scented candle. To do this, take the selected vessel, thread and wooden stick(pencil). We tie the thread to the stick and lower it into the vessel so that it is in the center. Our stick serves as a “holder”.

Now we begin to prepare the mass for the future candle. Take a pan of water and boil it. Meanwhile, put paraffin or wax (of your choice) into another (smaller) container and melt it in a water bath.

When the paraffin has melted, add a few drops of essential oil. The number of drops will determine the intensity of the aroma. 3-5 drops of oil will give off a light, unobtrusive aroma. From 5-10 drops you will get a lasting aroma that will fill the room. Therefore, you need to regulate at your own discretion and preference.

Now that everything is ready, you need to carefully pour the wax into the candle container. You need to act quickly. First, fill a quarter of the container and make sure that the thread does not float up, but remains inside.

Then add the remaining wax (paraffin). Carefully cut the thread at the top (to form a wick).

Voila, our scented candle is ready!

Now you can enjoy wonderful natural scents thanks to essential oil fragrances that you made yourself! Good luck and positive emotions!

One of the warmest winter scents. Many people make fragrant “hedgehogs” from oranges or tangerines and cloves. This flavor works great for a week. The version with a can is longer-lasting.

Cut the orange into slices, add a few cinnamon sticks, 8-10 cloves and a few anise stars. The ratio can be changed depending on which scent you like best.

Fill the jar with water. In order for the mixture to release its aroma, it must be heated ( important rule for all water-based flavors). To do this, you can use a fondue pot, USB drink warmers, teapot stands with candles, or just a radiator.

Cut the lemon into slices or slices and place in a jar. Add 3-4 sprigs of rosemary and a couple of drops of vanilla extract. Fill with water and place in the heater.

Cut the lime into slices, add a couple of sprigs of thyme, a few drops of vanilla extract and mint. Fill everything with water and heat it up.

You can use either mint essence or dry mint for tea. The same goes for thyme: if you don’t have fresh thyme, you can add a pinch of dry thyme.

Cut the orange into slices and place in a jar. Add ginger there: fresh (then it also needs to be cut into slices) or powdered - and fill with water. A few drops of almond essence will complement the aroma. Nuts, unfortunately, do not provide a rich aroma.

Don’t forget to put the finished flavoring in a warm place.

This time you don't need to fill anything with water. Just put it in a jar fir branches and a few bay leaves. To make them smell right away, it’s better to break them. Add a couple of whole and a couple of grated nutmegs: their aroma is stronger and more persistent than that of powder.

Rinse and dry small glass jars. Make holes in the center of the lids and cover them with tissue paper: odors will easily pass through it.

Boil a glass of water and dissolve 2-3 bags of gelatin in it. Add a tablespoon of salt and a glass of cold water. Add 30 drops of your favorite essential oil and a couple of drops of dye. Mix everything thoroughly and pour into jars. Let set (preferably overnight) and place around the house.

7. Baking soda flavoring

Baking soda is very sensitive to odors. It will not only give off the aroma of the essential oil with which it is soaked, but also absorb unpleasant odors.

Cut in the lid glass jar round hole. Cover it with scrapbooking paper and poke a lot of holes in it with a needle. You can also use a thin cotton cloth or go simpler and just pierce the metal lid with an awl in several places.

Fill a clean, dry jar about halfway, add 8-12 drops of essential oil and shake. If the aroma does not seem intense enough, add another 5-10 drops and shake again.

An excellent solution not only for home, but also for the office. Dried flowers not only exude a pleasant, subtle aroma, but also look very aesthetically pleasing inside a glass jar.

Dried flowers and herbs can be bought at pharmacies and stores or dried yourself. If you choose the second route, simply tie a small bouquet with thread and hang it in a sunny and well-ventilated place.

Place the plants in a jar and add a couple of drops of an essential oil that suits the aroma. So, if you have dried roses or rose hips, use rose oil. If you have lavender in your jar, enhance its natural aroma with lavender oil.
