Scroll necessary materials and tools for a rocking chair cannot be limited due to the fact that the choice of frame, backing options and some other details are different. But there is mandatory list necessary tools:

  • hammer;
  • screws and screwdriver;

  • jigsaw and files (in case of using a wooden frame);
  • level (a successful option would be right angle with a long ruler and a built-in level - these can be found in specialized stores).

Step-by-step instructions for creating

Option one - standard wooden rocking chair

A wooden frame is the most common in creating such projects - it is reliable, practical and easy to process.

When creating a rocking chair with your own hands, the drawings are important element for subsequent project development.

A rocking chair made of wood is durable, environmentally friendly and attractive

In the case of using wood as the main material, you can find many options for templates and drawings with detailed explanations and calculations of small details.

To create such a chair, you need to use a jigsaw and a sander to cut out the parts for the chair.

In the future, you can simply lay a blanket on the chair, or attach sewn pillows - this will add originality and uniqueness to your rocking chair.

The second option is the atmosphere of nature

Using wood as a frame, you can also use small branches as “upholstery”. They can be collected in the forest in April or October.

Having made all the wooden parts and fastened them together, you need to carefully place all the collected branches into the empty space.

Such a system can be connected and strengthened using glue or liquid nails.

It is important to remember that it is necessary to fill all the space allocated for the branches - if there are large gaps in the structure, it may break.

The third option is an eternal classic

The most popular material in creating a rocking chair is plywood.

Cut two side panels in the shape of a boomerang from a sheet of plywood

It is necessary to cut a number of narrow long strips of plywood and nail them to the two base parts on which the chair will roll.

Regarding the distance between the “strips”, it is customary to use the rule of the golden mean - the elements should not be close to each other, but a large gap between each element is undesirable.

Do not skimp on screws or other material with which you nail the plywood to the base - it should be nailed in two places on each side, for a total of four attachment points.

The shape of a plywood swing chair can vary, the decor depends on your imagination

The fourth option is part of the soul

Having asked the question of how to make a rocking chair with your own hands, a person wants to make a unique, unique project.

You can make the parts on which the chair will swing from wood, the support system from metal frame. The seat itself is made of wool - knitted.

The pattern and technique of embroidery can be different, the main thing is to accurately measure the space for embroidery and leave loops for attaching to the frame.

Such a chair will look natural both at home and on the street - you will really put your soul into it.

These are just a few of the many types of chairs that exist. I would like to note that under the seat there may be, for example, a place for your animal. Complement the rocking chair made with my own hands, you can use any elements - it all depends on the person’s imagination and priorities.

Arranging a summer cottage includes not only building a house and laying out a garden or vegetable garden. For comfort, you need to have at least a minimum of furniture in your dacha, for example, an armchair. You can, of course, buy it in a store, but if you have at least minimal skills in handling the tool, then assembled chair DIY metal rocking chair on your summer cottage will decorate your life.

You can make a rocking chair yourself; it will cost much less than buying it in a store.

This item can be made from the following materials:

  • tree;
  • metal, as mentioned above.

Next, we will consider the option of self-production. This rocking chair is made from rods or pipes of aluminum or steel. A minimal amount of metal is required to create it. Eat different types such rocking chairs:

  • all metal, forged;
  • structures welded from rods or pipes;
  • combined: their base is made of metal, and the seat is made of wood or plastic.

A rocking chair with forged elements is difficult to manufacture. Therefore they will not be considered.

Welded option

To create a structure from metal rods, you can use welding machine or drill and bolts.

First, a drawing is made. For a sample, take a simple chair, and transfer all its dimensions onto paper, and in order to turn it into a rocking chair, you need to draw a segment of an arc on the drawing to the legs. All this is done on the same scale, and therefore its radius is freely determined from the drawing.

The swing range depends on it: the smaller the radius of the arc, the greater the likelihood of injury.

At the construction market, purchase steel rods with a cross-section of 20 X 20 millimeters. They are cut to size and then the base of your rocking chair is welded according to the drawing. Then arcs are bent from the rod and welded to the legs on the frame. To create a seat, you can go in several ways:

  • pieces are cut from rods required length and welded into the main frame with a step of 5-6 mm - the chair will be very durable, but the amount of work will increase and the metal consumption will increase;
  • A sheet of metal 2 mm thick is welded onto the frame along the entire length of the seat and back of the rocking chair or screwed with screws.

One option for this design is a completely curved metal sheet a bed with arches curved from steel or aluminum pipes.

When using this option, you must take into account that sitting on metal is not always pleasant, and therefore do not forget to place small pillows on the seat and back.

To make the base lighter, it can be made from aluminum pipes with a caliber of 20 millimeters. They are cut to the size you need and connected to each other with screws and steel angles.

The seat bed can be made of tarpaulin or any dense material in the same way as it is made on a couch, or it can be made of wooden blocks, as described above.

Reading time ≈ 5 minutes

This article is step by step instructions By self-production metal rocking chairs, which also contains photos and videos. Thanks to detailed explanations, you will not go wrong with the choice of materials, and you may also gain new skills that will be useful in future projects.

Materials for making a rocking chair with your own hands

The first thing you need to do is purchase the metal parts for your future rocking chair. You may need to get someone to make you the exact frame shape you need. If you work together with a professional, he will be able to give helpful advice, help with the choice of materials, etc.

Ideal for frame homemade rocking chair the metal will become a 20 mm (in diameter) steel rod. If you find that the rod is too heavy for the frame, you can use steel pipes.

As a result, as you can see in the photo, you should end up with a set of rods of the following sizes (pay attention to the drawings):

  • A: 4 x 650 mm
  • B: 2 x 268 mm
  • C: 2 x 867 mm
  • D: 2 x 600 mm
  • E: 2 x 896 mm

Of course, you can change the dimensions of a rocking chair made of metal, but be careful in your calculations.

Fitting metal rods

So that everyone steel element the future frame fits tightly to each other after welding, their ends need to be adjusted (to understand exactly how to do this, watch the video presented on the site). This will be easy to do if you have a desktop one. As a result, you should get the following:

  • ‘A’ rods ground on both ends
  • ‘B’ rods ground on one side
  • ‘C’ rods ground on one side
  • ‘D’ rods do not require grinding
  • ‘E’ rods do not require grinding

Welds

Start by connecting the rods of the two sides of the rocking chair (B, C, D) as shown in the photo. It is better to do this on the floor to ensure a perfectly level structure. if you have magnetic square for welding, use it. Otherwise use cinder block to achieve an angle of 90º.

After welding the two sides (B, C, D), connect them with rods A.

Shaping

Figuring out how to bend a 20mm diameter steel rod requires a little imagination. Especially if you don't have any special tool type of pipe bender. You will need a pipe and a tree with a forked trunk (as you can see from the photo, the trunks should be close to each other). Place the rod between the trunks and slide the pipe onto it. By holding onto the latter and applying pressure, you will gradually be able to give the rod the desired shape. Try to keep the 'E' parts as similar as possible to each other.

Attach the ‘E’ curves

A durable frame for a metal rocking chair, made by yourself, is almost ready. Now you need to weld parts ‘E’, then ‘D’ and ‘B’ (most likely, they will need to be adjusted quite a bit to the curved ‘E’). The most difficult part of the journey is over!

Sling test on frame

If someone close to you has sewing skills, entrust the creation of the cover to one of them. You can use an old blanket or a durable blanket, from which you will need to cut a 600 mm strip. It should be sewn to the two upper rods ‘A’ so that you get a kind of sling in which you will sit. Very simple and great!

Stripping

If your welds are similar to those shown in the photo, you will agree that such a rocking chair will not have the most attractive appearance. Sanding the seams will take some time, but the results are worth it.

Painting

This is probably the most enjoyable part of the whole job. But first, thoroughly clean the chair frame with hot soapy water to remove dirt and grease. Rinse afterwards clean water and let dry completely.

Hang the frame wherever it is convenient for you. It is better to paint on a warm, not too windy day. The first and second layers will be primer (ground base). But the second one is applied a few hours after the first one. Next comes two layers of base primer (third and fourth), which are applied 24 hours after the primer base. It is better that the last two layers are gray. As a result, appearance a finished rocking chair will be much more impressive. After this, apply matte varnish.

Sling color selection

What color your rocking chair will be is up to you. It is desirable that it be a durable 100% cotton material. By the way, if you already have a piece of light-colored fabric, you can only purchase a special dye and, following the instructions, give it the desired shade.

Sewing a sling

In terms of dimensions, you will need a piece that is 1200mm wide and approximately 1300mm long. It will need to be folded in half so that the result is a rectangle of 600x1300 mm. The two long sides of the rectangle are sewn together, and the resulting sleeve is turned inside out. Each end of the sleeve is also sewn up with the cut edges inward (as in the photo) in order to prevent the sling from quickly wearing out.

Your own garden is a great place for both work and relaxation. For a complete country holiday people came up with the most various devices from swings to hammocks. Armchairs are considered a classic piece of comfortable furniture. But someone brilliant managed to add an addition to its design that made it even more convenient: a rocking chair was born. This model allows you to perfectly relax all the muscles, and the leisurely and rhythmic rocking encourages pleasant thoughts, calms you down, and lulls you to sleep. The rocking chair turned out to be so popular that many variations and modifications have appeared since its invention. Moreover, it turned out that a DIY rocking chair made from different materials- this is not a myth.

To create a classic rocking chair model, you need a willow vine. The openwork and light design looks great against the backdrop of country greenery and goes well with the interior garden house or gazebos. This lightweight and durable product has one drawback - the fear of excess moisture.

Making a light and seemingly unpretentious chair from willow wicker is not so easy. You need to be able to prepare the material, and the weaving technique requires special skills

Rattan is a flexible vine that grows in Southeast Asia. Wonderful and very beautiful chairs are also woven from rattan. They are not inferior in beauty to willow trees, which cannot be said about their strength. No screws or nails when creating rattan furniture does not apply. All connections are held together only thanks to glue and skillful knitting.

Rattan is not sold as a raw material in our stores. Such a rocking chair for a dacha owner is a good purchase, and not a product in the manufacture of which he can show his creative abilities

If we talk about the strength and durability of the product, then an example of reliable furniture is this model, created from forged metal. An elegant lace structure will decorate any garden.

The main advantage of this model is its durability. The main one, but not the only one. Agree that this thing looks like an elegant silver jewelry

Rocking chairs are used not only as country furniture. Distinctive feature The features of an office rocking chair are its respectability and solidity.

Office workers also appreciate high-quality rocking chairs as accessories that help them fully relax from the hustle and bustle of business. Of course, office models differ from the country version

There are also designer models of rocking chairs made in high-tech style.

Very interesting and, most importantly, enough functional model. Combines a comfortable rocking chair and a directional lamp

Some cutting-edge rocking chair designs are truly unique. Like more simple models, they guarantee their owner comfort, but, in addition, independence from energy sources. This product, equipped with solar panels, allows you to spend time with comfort and benefit.

For the base of such a structure, you can use thick plywood, and for its upper part - polycarbonate. Find on the web solar panels not a problem today either.

Master class: rocking chair for two

A two-seater rocking chair looks more like a sofa. If you put a few pillows or throw a blanket on this convenient structure, you simply won’t find anything better for a country holiday. We will tell you how to make such a rocking chair with your own hands.

Who said you can only enjoy the comfort of a rocking chair alone? This model is good for two

Stage #1 – preparing tools

Making a quality rocking chair is not as difficult as it seems. Having everything necessary tools and stocking up quality materials, you can leisurely do everything yourself. What exactly tools will we need for this work?

  • Electric jigsaw complete with wood saws.
  • Disc sander. It will require attachments with different grain sizes. Actually manual frezer may also be needed, but if there is a large amount of coarse grain sandpaper and provided the grinder has sufficient power, you can do without it.
  • Screwdriver with a set of wood drills and bits.
  • A right angle with a long measuring ruler.
  • Roulette.
  • Hammer.
  • Putty knife.
  • Brushes and pencil.

Proper organization of work assumes that all of the listed tools will be literally at hand.

Stage #2 – draw a drawing

Any responsible work begins with the production of a drawing. It is necessary in order to correctly calculate the need for materials. However, the drawing already exists. On a metric grid, the pitch of which is 100mm, there is a template for the side of the chair. It is best to transfer the drawing to paper and cut out a pattern, which will make it easier to apply the outline to the plywood.

Drawing of a great rocking chair that you can make your own with skillful hands, made on a metric grid, the pitch of which is 100 mm

Small inaccuracies are acceptable, it is important not to make a mistake in the main thing: the sidewalls must be identical, there should be no protruding corners on their rolling, lower side.

Stage #3 – cutting blanks from plywood and timber

To make drawstrings and sidewalls, you will need Europlywood, the thickness of which is 30 mm. The sides, as already mentioned, are cut out with a jigsaw strictly according to the pattern. The dimensions of each of the three drawers are 800x120 mm.

Now you need to cut the blanks of the bars, which will later make up the surface of the seat and back of the rocking chair. To do this, we need a beam measuring 50x25 mm, from which we will cut 35 blanks of 1200 mm each. Before purchasing the material necessary for this, find out what the standard length of one such bar is in your stores.

Based on the proposed drawing, you need to make a pattern, with which you should apply the contour of the side of the chair on the plywood

You can easily calculate the total molding you need on your own. Observe the multiplicity so that when cutting the workpieces there is no large amount of residue. It’s better that your rocking chair turns out to be a little narrower than originally planned. For example, with a standard length of 2.4 meters, the length of one workpiece will be 1195 mm (the thickness of the cut and subsequent processing are subtracted).

With fasteners everything is simple. Needed:

  • confirmations (euroscrews) 12 pieces, size 5x120mm;
  • self-tapping screws 140 pieces, size 4x45.

In fact, the initial part of the work is already over, but you still have to work hard to get the desired result. In the process of this work, you will need drying oil, wood varnish, putty, and antiseptic, which also need to be purchased in advance.

Stage #4 – pre-processing of parts

We begin to sand all the parts and remove small chamfers. If your Sander It’s powerful enough and you know how to handle it; this procedure won’t take you much time. Considering that the rocking chair will be located outdoors, Special attention it is necessary to pay attention to the ends of all elements in order to protect them as much as possible from dampness, to which they will undoubtedly be exposed.

Pre-treatment of parts consists not only of sanding and chamfering them. All measures must be taken to protect the end parts of the elements from rotting

The ends of the parts must be soaked in hot drying oil, and the wood fibers on them must be slightly flattened with a hammer. This way less moisture will be absorbed. For the ends, the processing-varnishing-processing procedure must be carried out twice before general assembly designs.

Stage #5 – assembly of the structure

There are no specific standards in the manufacture of this item. garden furniture not provided. The holes for the drawers are marked as required by logic: headboard, middle part external arc of the sidewall and footboard. The drawers will be pulled to the sidewalls with the help of confirmations. To do this, preliminary markings are made on the sidewalls, after which the two sidewalls are aligned, and a through hole is drilled in their planes with an 8 mm drill. For a hole in the end of the drawer, use a 5 mm drill. Now you can tighten the chair frame using Euroscrews.

The holes for the drawers must first be marked, after which both sides are folded together and neat through holes are drilled

Now let's talk about how to drill the bars that form the seat and back of the chair. We have exactly 35 of them. It is necessary to drill 4 holes in each block (two on each side). And these are 140 symmetrical holes.

To simplify the task, we use a “jig” - a device for marking a large number of homogeneous parts. We make it very simply: we take a piece of the same timber, no shorter than 250 mm, drill holes in it for the template, the diameter of which should be the same as that of a marking pencil. We nail scraps of plywood to the end and one of the side parts of the “conductor”, which will serve as a limiter that prevents you from missing during the marking process. The "conductor" is ready.

Assembly is the most time-consuming and labor-intensive part of creating a rocking chair. However, the “jig” will help you simplify the procedure for drilling symmetrical holes

This is what the chair looks like at the final stage of work. Of course, it still cannot be used in this form. It is necessary to take measures to protect it from bad weather

The “jig” will be used to mark holes; you cannot drill through it, because a drill can break the template holes and the parts will have to be countersunk separately. If you take a 3.5x30 drill with a countersink, you can use the finished markings to make the hole as needed.

According to the drawing, there should be a gap of 15 mm between the bars. To avoid distortions, it is necessary to mark on the side of the chair the distance that will correspond to six bars along with intermediate intervals, and check that the template liners match in thickness. If they match, you can continue attaching. Otherwise, adjustments must be made. A four-millimeter wood screw holds perfectly in europlywood. But given the high frequency of fastening, it is better to use a three-millimeter drill.

Stage #6 – finishing of the finished product

The holes above the screws must be carefully filled with putty. Next in line will be treatment with an antiseptic and coating the product three times with waterproof varnish. You need to work very diligently. Remember how much work you have already put into this chair. After all, you want it to last as long as possible, right? Then try!

If you have small children, you can involve them in filling the holes above the screws, but you will have to carefully inspect the model to look for damage to eliminate them yourself

Sliding chair without runners

You probably noticed that all the models presented above have general principle work. The trick is that these rockers use curved runners as the base. How to make a rocking chair without runners? It turns out that such a possibility also exists. Watch this video and you'll get an idea of exactly how it's done.

Life and surrounding events fly at a rapid speed. Often, before we know it, the week is over, the weekend has flown by, and it’s time to start the race again. How often do we dream at such moments? cozy place, where you can retire and dream about the eternal? Or maybe you just need to sleep and read your favorite book, covered with a warm blanket, while feeling the swaying of a swing or a hammock?

A rocking chair is an original and beautiful part of your home interior.

A rocking chair is an ideal option for this. It will be a great addition to the garden or on the porch of the house, where you can bask in the warm rays of the sun and listen to the birds singing. Also, the chair can fit perfectly into the urban interior of an apartment - you can relax on it after working days and do what you love: knitting, reading, watching movies.

If a child appears in your home, any mother will dream of a place where she can easily rock the baby to sleep and relax on her own. Such rocking chairs in stores are not cheap, and it is not always possible to find furniture that perfectly matches the interior of the room.

A rocking chair is an ideal way to create an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility.

An excellent option would be to make such a chair yourself. The advantages in this case are undeniable: you can choose right size, design, material and feel a great sense of pride that you were able to create such beauty with your own hands.

The undoubted advantage of a homemade rocking chair is that it suits exactly your tastes.

If you decide to make a rocking chair with your own hands, you must first consider the types and designs of products, familiarize yourself with various materials, from which such a process as making a chair will bring pleasure, and the features of working with these materials.

A simple wicker rocking chair will add a lot of comfort to your home.

Let's look at the main types of products:

  • Classic rocking chairs on regular runners- harmonize both in modern and classic styles. Manufacturing technology does not require extensive experience in furniture production, but the basics of practice must be present. The runners swing smoothly with a small radius, but with strong swing there is a risk of tipping over.

These chairs are made with a low seat for a more stable position.

  • Rocking chairs on runners with bumpers. If classic armchair must be done with an average (normal) landing height - it is recommended to equip the arches with bumpers - the runners are designed so that the ends are curved in the opposite direction.

In this version, the arches prevent the chair from turning over, but getting up from the chair is uncomfortable and hard due to the presence of these bumpers.

  • Rockers with elliptical arches - chairs guarantee a soft, gentle rocking, but with a large swing there is a risk of tipping over, because of this it is recommended to equip them with bumpers, as in the previous version. For garden plots The option of elliptical rocking chairs with an awning is offered; with it, capsizing is excluded.

A rocking chair can be small and neat.

  • Multifunctional rocking chairs 3 in 1 - when sitting down, it looks like a standard chair for level sitting; when tilting back, the runners switch to rocking mode; when reclining further, the chair turns into a lounger.

However, visually such a chair looks bulky and the process of switching from one function to another is inconvenient; sharp jerks of the body are required.

Having considered the main options for chairs, in the absence of experience in furniture production, we recommend taking a closer look at classic version, making a rocking chair is not as difficult as it might seem.

Having decided on the model, it is important to decide on the materials.

Materials for rocking chairs

There are many materials from which a chair can be made. There are popular models that are most often used in the manufacture of rocking chairs.

Let's consider everything possible options and let’s look at the most popular ones in more detail.

  1. Willow vine is an easy-to-produce material that looks beautiful on finished product, the main disadvantage is moisture intolerance, i.e. It is not recommended to install outdoors.
  2. Rattan is a vine native to Southeast Asia, not inferior in beauty to willow materials, but not durable. When working with rattan, glue and special knitting are used - nails and screws should not be used.
  3. Forged metal is a durable and strong material; forged products are decorated with a variety of metal patterns. Exclusively street version rocking chairs.
  4. Soft (leather) parts - there are rockers made of plywood, covered with another material, for example, leather - they can be classified as strict office options;

Some chairs can be easily transformed.

So, the most popular materials are rattan and willow. Let's try to understand their properties.

Rattan is a liana from the palm family that grows in a humid region; its structure is porous and moisture-resistant. Rattan is not afraid of rain and furniture made from it is often installed in garden plots and in the courtyards. Furniture made from this material is environmentally friendly, beautiful and comfortable. However, due to porosity, the material can quickly fail, and repairing such furniture will cost half the cost of the product.

Its wood is very flexible and easy to work with.

Willow is for all of us famous tree, the structure is homogeneous, therefore this material is less flexible in comparison with rattan. It is also not recommended to leave a willow chair in the rain, as the wood structure may swell and deteriorate. In rattan, the porous structure does not allow the use of anything other than glue, so the lashes have to be fixed with special knots. It is also worth noting that willow material will be much cheaper than rattan.

When making furniture from willow, craftsmen use self-tapping screws and special glue.

Now, knowing the basic indicators of different types of wood, you can decide for yourself which material is closer to you and is suitable for you.

A variety of materials allows you to create a large number of excellent specimens.

The easiest way to make a rocking chair with your own hands, especially if this is your first such work, is from plywood. As a first experiment, we recommend using maple plywood, since it is a very hard material, has a high density and has a beautiful texture and pattern.

With this type of material, making a chair will bring you pure pleasure.

Let's look at the features of working with plywood. For structural strength, three layers of plywood are used, and the middle one should be twice as thick as the outer ones, for example, if we need a total thickness of 20 mm, then we glue 5-10-5 mm, we need to glue it with a special waterproof glue and can be further strengthened with small nails.

When connecting parts, you can use self-tapping screws in addition to glue.

Also, the structure of plywood allows you to develop unusual shapes. It is enough to draw the desired blank and cut it out with a jigsaw. Also, when working with plywood, it is important to take into account that it must be impregnated with a water-polymer emulsion and varnish at least twice.

Such a product will be much stronger and more resistant to external influences.

Below we offer step-by-step instructions for consideration. how to make a rocking chair with your own hands . Let's consider 2 options for chairs, for both we will use plywood as the main material. Before starting production, it is important to decide necessary equipment so that your work does not stop in the middle of the cycle due to the lack of some materials or tools. So, you will need:

  • Templates for frame parts;
  • Plywood boards and bars;
  • Jigsaw;
  • Reed threads;
  • Grinder machine;
  • Screws, small nails, self-tapping screws;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Drill – for drilling side holes;
  • Water-repellent impregnations, varnishes.

Tools for making your own rocking chair.

Rocking chair manufacturing process

DIY rocking chair made in classic style with curved runners, will become excellent option for your first furniture making experience. Wicker reed elements will also be used, which will create beautiful patterns and comfort during planting.

A rocking chair can easily be made at home.

So, we need 3-layer maple plywood, onto which we will apply pre-created templates and make the frame of the product. You can create a drawing of a rocking chair yourself or search it on the Internet ready-made options forms.

We cut out all the elements using a jigsaw and a grinder.

It is very important to carefully treat the surface of all wooden elements; they should be smooth, without burrs or rough areas, therefore, in order for the templates to be accepted required type they also need to be cleaned with sandpaper.

We connect the parts using screws.

Don’t forget that the back and seat of our chair will be decorated with reed patterns, so we leave their central part empty. That is, we only create the frame from plywood. Along the entire perimeter of the resulting frame we make small identical holes at a distance of 1.5-2 cm from each other.

In the future we will attach reed threads to the holes.

After our base is ready, we begin to work with the reed. We interweave it with threads vertically and horizontally throughout the entire surface of the seat, like weaving, and secure it with strong knots in the previously drilled holes.

We perform similar actions with the back of the product.

When the product is formed, everything wooden elements needs to be processed protective coating at least 2 times.

After drying, seal with a double layer of varnish.

Let's consider another simple version of the original rocking chair made of plywood. The chair consists of two sidewalls in the shape of a boomerang and transverse rails from wall to wall in the amount of 14 pieces.

The chair is made of plywood 15 mm thick.

To begin with, let's draw out 2 sides of the chair using the template and carefully cut them out according to the markings with a jigsaw. All edges of the sidewall must be sanded with sandpaper.

You should get 2 large “boomerangs”.

We glue the supports to the side walls with wood glue and, for reliability, secure each of the bars with a self-tapping screw.

We also attach our guides to these supports with self-tapping screws.

After completing all the above steps, we will have the frame of our rocking chair ready. We treat the sides of the chair with stain in two layers; you can start the second layer only after the first has completely dried.

The ends of the sidewalls can then be varnished or painted with glossy paint.

Our chair is ready.

All that remains is to decorate it. For this we take soft pillows the required color or a small flexible mattress and attach it to the frame using ties. Soft elements can be purchased at the store or made yourself. To do this, it is better to take natural fabric as upholstery and foam rubber 5 cm thick.

We cut out the part we need in size from the foam rubber and put a pre-sewn cover on it.

We are sure that making one rocking chair with your own hands will encourage you to conquer new heights, and you will want to make a similar or another rocking chair with your own hands for all family members, so that you can get together on quiet, cozy evenings and talk about events that have happened and plans for the future, slowly swaying on the chairs we made ourselves.

A rocking chair will help you quickly and completely relax.

You can make such furniture using custom sizes, including children's sizes for the youngest members of the family. Such evening or morning motion sickness creates a relaxing, calming effect that is so necessary for a person in modern world. These chairs are environmentally friendly, as they are made from natural materials.

They are beautiful and can decorate your interior in your apartment, on your balcony or in your courtyard.

Most rocking chairs do not require special care; they can easily tolerate cold temperatures. Some materials do not tolerate strong moisture, so such furniture cannot be left outside for the winter.

We are sure that every owner of a rocking chair will consider it his favorite place to hang out.

Making a rocking chair with your own hands is not at all difficult, just minimum set tools and great desire.
