In China and its neighboring countries, Thailand, Korea and others, pressing flowers has been a separate, very revered craft since ancient times.
Plants that are suitable for planar floristry can be harvested within all year round because each season has its own beauty and opportunities. Spring will give dried leaves from wild plants. In summer, you can dry flowers, collect poplar fluff for compositions. Autumn is "red", which means colorful autumn leaves from trees like oak, maple, rowan and bright fruits. Rules for collecting and drying plants

To create interesting works, it is absolutely necessary that the natural material be as diverse as possible, different in texture, shape and color.
Collect plants that will later become "paints" from early spring to late autumn, even at the beginning of winter. It is necessary to remember a few rules for collecting and drying plants.
1. Plants can only be harvested in dry weather.
2. Dry the stems and leaves separately from the flowers. Compositae (marigolds, poppies, lilies) dry in parts, separating the petals. Daisies, violets, umbelliferous, cereals, veres dry whole.
3. Lay plants between sheets of paper so that they do not wrinkle. Press from above with a load, the weight of which can be from 4-5 to 10-15 kg. The air temperature is not lower than 22-24 degrees. In autumn and winter, it is necessary to dry the plants near heated batteries. After a day, check the quality of drying plants, if necessary, change the paper - and so on until the plants are completely dry for 2-3 weeks.
4. No need to throw away plants that are lost natural look. The whole palette can be useful in work pastel shades.

Master Class

To make an application from dried plants, you will need the following tools and materials:
- scissors (large and manicure);
- tweezers;
- medium soft pencil;
- material for the base (thick cardboard);
- material for the design of the picture (frame with glass, 2-3 mm thick);
- PVA glue;
- brushes or thin sticks for glue;
- plants dried under pressure (corncob wrappers, leaves of viburnum, poplar, burdock, maple, strawberries, grapes, lilacs, rose petals, twigs of wormwood, birch, birch bark, cattail).

Attention! All plants are interchangeable, so if the listed plants are not at hand, they can be replaced with similar ones in color and texture.
Before starting work, with light strokes, we make a sketch on thick cardboard with minimal elaboration, given the possibility of improvising in the process. We outline the contours of the image, giving Special attention the main lines and forms - the horizon, the foreground.

We depict the sky with birch bark different shades(from white to beige). To do this, we use the inner and outer parts of the birch bark. We try to combine colors so that they smoothly blend into each other, we achieve the effect of cloud blur. Abundantly coat inside birch bark with glue and glue to the base according to the outlined contours. For more thorough gluing after each stage, it is necessary to put the work under the press for a while.

Overlay the primary layer to represent the surface of the water. We use the inner part of the bark of a slightly rotten birch. It already has the colors and shades necessary for the image of ripples on the water.

We depict the coast in the foreground. We use a set of leaves of green shades (from light to dark) of various plants.

We depict the forest in the background. To get a picturesque background for the next stage of work, we use the leaves of yellow and green flowers. We arrange them horizontally.

We return to a more detailed study of the surface of the water. We create a solar path. This is the lightest part, so we lay it out using the outside of the birch bark white color. For the darkened parts of the water, birch bark of dark shades is needed. The inner layer of rotten bark is perfect for this.

We turn to a more thorough study of the forest in the background. To depict numerous aerial plans and various different types trees, we will use dark poplar leaves; grapes, lilacs, yellow leaves of autumn birches, red maple leaves. For the image of a coniferous forest, different types of wormwood (white and green) are suitable. All leaves are glued vertically.

We start working on the boat, which is located in the background. First, draw it on paper, cut it out and glue it a little to the left of the middle.

For the image of the boat, we use dry autumn cattail leaves. Let's start with the body. The boat is made of wood, so you need to depict it in action. On the outside boats lay out boards of gray-brown leaves, placing them horizontally. The boards on the inside of the boat are in the shade, so we use dark brown leaves. Glue light stripes around the entire perimeter of the upper part of the boat to display the thickness wooden base. In the inside of the boat, it is also necessary to depict three boards for sitting: stern, rowing and bow. For this we use leaves. beige colour placing them perpendicular.

On the shore, in the foreground, we have three birches from the outer layer of white birch bark. We cut out the desired shape of the trunk with scissors and glue it according to the composition.

We are working on the structure of the tree bark. Old trees have many irregularities, various cracks, tubercles, which, of course, should not be left without attention. We spread them with birch bark of different shades. On the shady side trunks put darker pieces of birch bark. We mark dark dashes and spots on the bark of the tree, trying to place them as randomly as possible.

Let's move on to the crown. When depicting trees, we must take into account the anatomical structure and the shape of the branches characteristic of birches. We form the crown from poplar and birch leaves by picking with hands. On the crown of the tree we add thin hanging branches. At the same time we depict birch trees in the background. We use the same set of leaves. We stick to the same technology.

We are working on the second boat, using the same techniques, materials and techniques for doing work as on the first one. We depict the shadow from the boat on the surface of the water, which is covered with light ripples. To emphasize this, the material used is uneven and broken. For this effect the torn birch bark of the inner part of the dark bark is used, and the outer part, which is lighter, is used to depict highlights.

Let's move on to a more thorough study of the details of the foreground. At the base of the tree and next to the boat we have a bush. We convey the density of the herbaceous cover with plants of different shapes and textures: white sweet clover, common oregano, dandelion, cereal plants. We lay out small islands from climbing decorative indoor plants in the background.
Now everything fell into place, and the composition can be considered complete.

The finished picture is inserted into a frame under glass.

Oshibana or oshibana is a kind of floristry, the art of creating pictures from natural materials dried under pressure: flower petals, green and yellow leaves, stems and seeds of herbs.

The material for creating a picture must be prepared, i.e. collected and dried. Flowers, leaves, grass, seeds, fluff are collected and dried under pressure or in a herbarium folder so that they become flat. Leaves and flowers often change their color. To obtain the desired shade is sometimes used heat treatment or other ways to preserve natural beauty. It is important to know which plant, at what time of the year it is better to collect. In addition, you need to collect plants in clear weather so that the plants are not wet.

How to dry plants?

1. In paper press

You can dry the flowers and leaves in a thick book, between the leaves of tracing paper. If you need a voluminous flower - in a box with sand (chamomile can be dried this way by gently sprinkling the flower with sand), the dandelion is dried at the opening stage, head down, as soon as the white fluffy head opens, sprinkle with hairspray.

If you do not strive to preserve the natural color of the plants, you can dry them with an iron, placing them between two sheets of paper. Only the iron should not be too hot, otherwise the leaves will become very brittle. It is better to iron them with a barely warm iron 3-4 times with an interval of several hours, so as not to overdry.

3. In the microwave

The herbarium can be dried in the microwave, but the leaves do not always remain even and smooth, so it will be difficult to stick them.

4. In glycerin

Plants dried in glycerin will retain their shape well, but will acquire a greenish-brown hue, however, for decorative panel they can be painted.

Dilute glycerin (available in pharmacies) in hot water in a ratio of 1:3. Pour the resulting solution into a container at least 6-10 cm deep, lower the plants vertically, leave for a few days until they darken, then dry.

Little tricks when drying a herbarium:

1. With proper drying, the top of the whole plant with stem and leaves should not lean down.

2. To make the leaves denser, dip them into a solution of 20% PVA glue and water.

3. Flower buds can be dried in sand poured into cardboard box. Of the flowers, dried red dahlias or delphinium retain their color better than others.

4. To keep bluish or bluish leaves retain their hue when dried, dip them for 1 minute in denatured alcohol.

Store plant material in airtight containers, protected from direct sun rays, moisture and moths. Ready-made Oshiban paintings can also fade and change their color over time, so it is advisable to frame them under glass and not keep them in the sun.

Artists attach (glue) dried plant material to the base (cardboard, fabric, wood), while the author creates a painting with the help of plants. That is, mistaken - this is painting with flowers, plants.

The art of oshigan originated in Japan about six hundred years ago. In Europe, this type of arts and crafts was widespread in the Victorian era. In recent decades, the mistake has experienced a rebirth.

Floral artists perform in technique mistaken not only ornaments, landscapes, still lifes, but also portraits and narrative paintings.

Despite the seeming simplicity, the technique of mistaken allows you to create simply amazing pictures. We invite you to enjoy them with us.

Increasingly popular today in Russia is again gaining ancient art - wrong, or floral painting, the creation of paintings and panels from flowers and leaves.

Such works can be seen at many exhibitions, clubs, schools are being created, master classes are being held. This is not surprising, because everyone can make a picture of flowers and leaves, even without special skills and talent as an artist. Such work from natural materials will become a corner of nature in your home, bring warmth and charm to it.

The author of the book is a well-known florist, winner of many international competitions, a member of the International Florist Guild WWPFG and a member international organization pressed floristry IPFAS - talks about the basic techniques of working with a variety of natural materials (leaves, flowers, bark, birch bark, herbs...), about their preparation, drying, storage, features of use, tools.

The book has step by step master classes, which will clearly and easily demonstrate how to independently make floral paintings for every taste - be it still life, landscape, animalistics.

To start working on a landscape, still life or portrait, you need to learn the basics of drawing. Now a lot of high-quality literature has appeared, from which you can learn about perspective, proportions, color, and also read about the image of light and shadows, about the reflection and refraction of light. Here we briefly review the most basic rules and concrete examples Let's learn how to apply them.

It is better not to cut the leaves with scissors, but to cut them off with your hands. Try not to use parts of the sheet with veins, cut off its edges as well. Then the pieces will look like strokes of paint, and the picture will turn out to be more realistic.

You always need to start a sketch with a compositional placement of the image. It is very important to arrange the entire group of objects so that the sheet of paper is filled evenly. To do this, we mentally combine the entire group of objects into one whole and think over its placement in accordance with the format of the sheet of paper.

Above it is necessary to leave more space than below - then the viewer will get the impression that the objects are firmly on the plane. At the same time, care must be taken that the depicted objects do not rest against the edges of the sheet of paper and, conversely, that there is not much empty space left along the edges.

Light and shadow

When creating a still life, you need to consider which side the light will fall from. That part of the picture that is illuminated is made light, the one in the shade is dark. The transition from the darkest to the lightest should be smooth.

Every object has a shadow. This must not be forgotten. An object without a shadow hangs in space and seems flat.

Depending on the lighting, the shadow is different shapes. Put the vase with the bouquet on the table and try to direct the light on it from different directions.

When illuminated from above, a huge shadow from the bouquet will be visible from below, if you direct the light from the front, the shadow will disappear. Most artists place objects so that the shadow is on the side.

perspective, color

If a table is depicted in a still life, it must be made according to the laws of perspective. Round table visually looks like an ellipse. Rectangular draw in the form of a trapezoid.

Color decision.

Many books have been written in more detail about coloristics (the ratio of colors and their relationship). In short, the overall impression of the picture is very dependent on color solution. Everyone knows that color affects perception and mood.

Warm colors are perceived as active, cheerful and bright. These include red, yellow, orange. Visually, such colors bring objects closer to us, and it is difficult to muffle them with other shades.

Cool colors, on the other hand, make objects move away. In addition, such colors are perceived as passive and sad.

Application types

Overlay application. Try to get started by coming up with pictures that don't require any details to be cut out of the leaves, but are created by overlaying the leaves. You can come up with a lot of such pictures: butterflies, mushrooms, chickens and other birds ... The missing elements can be added with a felt-tip pen or made from other natural materials.

Getting the hang of simple pictures, children can start to come up with tiered images. In this technique, the leaves are glued on top of each other in layers. The application will turn out bright and cheerful if the leaves differ in color.

Silhouette application. In this type of applique, the extra parts of the leaf are cut off to get exactly what the little artist intended.

Modular application (mosaic). Using this technique, a picture is created by sticking a lot of identical or similar in shape and size leaves (or, for example, maple seeds). So you can make the scales of a fish, the tail of a cockerel or a firebird.

symmetrical application. It is used to create separate images or entire paintings that have a symmetrical structure, as well as to obtain two completely identical images (for example, reflection in water). To do this, you need to select similar leaves to get an image with its “reflection” or symmetrical in itself (“Butterfly”, “Dragonfly”, “Landscape with a lake”, “Boat on the river”).

Tape application - a kind of symmetrical application. Its difference is that it allows you to get not one or two, but many identical images - ornaments. It turns out whole "round dances" of trees, flowers, mushrooms, butterflies, etc.

Flower toys

From beautiful plants florists came up with the idea of creating not only bouquets, but also such charming toys. To present such original gift, see how to make figurines of flowers yourself, and quickly start a pleasant and exciting activity.

Start simple. For example, make such a fun snail.

For needlework you need the following:
  • floristic sponge piaflora - 3 bricks;
  • spray yellow and green chrysanthemums, 4-5 branches of each color;
  • large leaves of monstera, palm trees or others;
  • round dish or plate;
  • floristic fixative or straws, sticks;
  • for the face: 2 buttons or beads, thread, paper, wire.

Before making such figures from flowers, you need to decorate the plate. In this case, we paint leaves on it.

We soak the piaflora bricks in water, letting them get wet without the help of hands. Then we cut out a few details from it. For business, we cut off 2 upper corners of the brick, from the second we cut out a rounded part for the back and the head of the flower toy.

From the third brick we create her neck. With the help of a floristic fixative or a straw, we fasten the sticks together as shown in the photo.

Now you need to cut off or cut the flowers so that they have a short stem 2 cm long.

Starting from the bottom of the "house" of the snail, lay it out with green chrysanthemums. We decorate the second part with yellow, from the top of the head.

Flowers should be placed as close as possible to each other so that the piaflora is not visible. If small gaps nevertheless form, close them with smaller buds.

After the whole body of the figurine of flowers is decorated, we take 2 yellow chrysanthemums, cut off its petioles so that the length is 4 cm, put these horns in their places.

To make the snail's face, poke a hole in the button with one end of the wire, remove it from the other, and poke the sponge in the appropriate places to attach the first and then the second eye in place. Cut a mouth out of red paper, glue it.

Now you can give such a beautiful and original gift of fresh flowers.

You have understood the principle of this floral idea, so now you can create other flower toys. You will need almost the same materials. If you have larger flowers, the figurine will turn out to be more fluffy.

It is important to cut out the details of his body from piaflora bricks so that they turn out to be proportional, and then fasten them using hairpins. Wooden skewers, pencil. To do this, these elements must be cut to a length of 5-8 cm. Insert one end into one part, and the other into another. Thus, you will fasten 2 parts of the body of the animal.

For such a flower toy, first cut out the following details from water-soaked floral sponge bricks for the body, nose, and head. Two for legs, paws, ears.

In order for the bear to sit securely on the base, cut sponges into the shape of the dish. To do this, cut the piaflora brick into 2 narrow parts, put them side by side, and place a dish on top. Press them on the lips to get the outline. Cut across it. Put the piaflor on the dishes, and attach the details of the body and legs on top, and on this basis - the rest of his body.

Start decorating the base by attaching small green chrysanthemums to the muzzle. Then use 3 of these flowers instead of toes, and one large one each to decorate the foot and ears of the flower toy.

Decorate the remaining parts of the animal's body with large chrysanthemums. Then you get a fluffy bear. Tie a light bow around his neck, border the dish with leaves, and drape the piaflor on it with small flowers, for example, gypsophila. Here you have such a wonderful bear made of flowers.

Living three-dimensional paintings

If you want to create a long-lasting beauty that will delight you for more than one year, then make a picture of unpretentious house plants.

To create this little child you will need:

  • succulents;
  • a wooden box with a plywood bottom or 4 bars and a fiberboard sheet;
  • picture frame;
  • plastic mesh;
  • the soil;
  • scissors;
  • scapula;
  • wand;
  • dye;
  • silicone gun;
  • a hammer;
  • nails;
  • brush.

Many adult houseplants give "babies". It is often a pity to throw them away, so use these small and unpretentious houseplants to create an original painting.

See what condition they are in, if there are dry sheets, remove them.

If you do not have a box that fits the frame, then saw off 4 bars and knock them down, giving the shape of a rectangle.

Cut a piece to the same size. construction mesh, attach it to the furniture bars.

Glue a picture frame to the same side of the bars using a silicone gun. Now turn the work over so that the frame is on the bottom. Nail a sheet of plywood to the bars. So that it does not get wet, it is better to first glue the mesh to it, and only then attach it to the base.

Paint the picture frame with varnish, let it dry.

Now pour the soil through the mesh into the tray, water it well.

After that, plant succulents to create a living picture of them.

Leave your creation for 2 weeks at horizontal for the plants to take root. Then you can put the picture upright or hang it on the wall.

You can create not only lively pictures, but also beautiful compositions from dried flowers. Before you start such work, find out how they need to be prepared.

How to make dry flowers

They can be bought or prepared from spring to autumn, collected in the forest, in the country. Donated bouquets should also not be thrown away when they begin to fade, because they make excellent material for creative needlework.

Flowers for compositions should be collected on a dry day in the late morning, when the dew has dried. Use fresh, beautiful, undamaged plants.

When choosing a range, pay attention to the fact that when dried, red flowers become darker, light ones turn yellow. But the blue, pink, purple, orange gamut of plants, with proper drying, is perfectly preserved.

The easiest way is to dry the flowers in the air, but be sure to dark place. Under the rays of the sun, they simply lose their beautiful color. big plants laid out on paper in one layer. Do the same with separate elements, if you only need buds, leaves or flowers, for example.

Plants of medium size are tied into small bunches, turned upside down with flowers, hung several times on a rope or a stick. AT dark room should be warm, dry and have airflow.

If you need to get dried flowers quickly, then you can use the CB oven. The main thing here is to bring the plants to the desired condition without overdrying them. Therefore, turn on the oven at low power for a few seconds. Turn it off, see what condition they are in, if necessary, dry them again, in the same way, turning on the SV-oven for a few seconds, setting it to low power.

If you want the plant to retain its natural color for a long time, dry it in the sand for 3-4 weeks. Unlike air-dried ones, these flowers will be less brittle.

You can also use silica gel, which quickly absorbs moisture. Using this method, only inflorescences are dried.

Dried flower arrangements

After you were able to buy dried flowers or made this material for needlework yourself, it's time to start amazing creativity.

Bouquets of dried flowers are in perfect harmony with the stones. Therefore, this material was used in this work. Here is the complete list of what is needed:

  • dried flowers: amaranth and yellow craspedia;
  • oblong (rectangular or oval) dish;
  • scissors;
  • large and small pebbles.
Cut off the bare stems, attach the flowers to the container on which they will be located. See if they look good and if you need to trim the stems more.

Put the dried flowers on a dish, crush them with large pebbles, and sprinkle small ones on top.

Cut the branches of 3 craspedia a little, put it in upper part compositions. For another 3-4, cut a larger stalk. Stick these plants into the pebbles.

The work is over, now you can admire what a beautiful composition of flowers and stones you have got.

Picture of dried plants

You can also create such an interesting composition with your own hands. Even in winter it will remind you of a colorful summer. For needlework, prepare:
  • A4 paper;
  • cardboard;
  • masking tape;
  • pistachio shells;
  • PVA glue;
  • toilet paper;
  • hot glue gun;
  • acrylic paints.
Paste the cardboard with white paper, attach tape around the perimeter, around the edges so that they are even.

You can slightly tint the background in this way: crumble the leads of colored pencils with a knife, and then rub the resulting colored powder over the sheet with a cotton pad.

Here's how to make a picture frame, use...toilet paper. Unwind a strip from it, coat that PVA, twist it in the form of a rope. Then lay along the edges of the cardboard, and when the glue dries, paint the resulting frame.

Here's how to make pistachio flowers. Cut out a circle from not very thick cardboard. With help glue gun glue nutshells to it so that each one touches the center and edge of the mug.

Now take dried flowers, place them in one corner of the picture, decorate it with pistachio elements and greens. The picture from improvised materials is ready.

How to make earrings, pendants

Highly interesting ideas bestow dried flowers in combination with epoxy resin. As a result, here are some amazing designer jewelry you will get.

For such work, accuracy, patience, and also:

  • dried flowers (used here: oak veronica, heather, forget-me-nots);
  • epoxy resin;
  • files;
  • pencil;
  • paper;
  • scissors;
  • syringe;
  • earrings for earrings;
  • fine sandpaper.
Mix the resin according to the instructions and leave for 2-3 hours to make the mass more viscous.

At this time, put small dried flowers on a piece of paper, outline them, giving a teardrop shape.

Cut out the resulting stencils.

Next, you need to find a perfectly flat surface, check this indicator with a building level. Put cut out stencils on it, and files on top.

After the resin has been infused, pour it from a syringe onto the blanks with a layer 2-3 mm thick. If the contour is blurred, correct it with a toothpick. Let the epoxy dry a little for 20-30 minutes, then adjust the edging again with a toothpick.

To prevent dust particles from sticking to the blanks, immediately cover them after pouring. In this case, it is better to isolate each separately.

Leave the blanks to dry for a day, then separate from the files and sand their edges with a nail file or fine sandpaper. Attach dried flowers to transparent elements. Prepare a new portion of resin in advance, after it has stood for 0.5-1 hour, fill the workpieces with a small layer over the dried flowers.

Again, give them a day to dry under cover. Turn the blanks over, fill them with epoxy (a small layer). After it is completely dry, turn the products over and fill the front surface.

Do it in a day thin drill in their upper part of the hole, thread through each seam. Here's how to make your own earrings. If you want to make a pendant, thread a chain ring through the hole.
