Outdoor country toilet made of foam blocks. How to make a foundation for a toilet in the country with your own hands. DIY toilet in the country - instructions, drawing with dimensions Installation of a columnar foundation for a toilet

A dacha simply cannot do without a toilet, at least used seasonally, that is, a mobile dry toilet. But it is advisable to bring and take away such a thing every year only if you plan to relax at the dacha strictly in the summer, and then on weekends. If suburban area will not be empty, that is, someone will live at the dacha for most of the year, or will come here a large number of people, you need to think about building a stationary structure, for example, from brick.

A brick toilet is better than its wooden counterpart, since its service life cannot be compared with the service life of a wooden building. Of course, building a brick booth will cost more, but once you build it with your own hands, you can forget about this issue.

Process nuances

Outdoor toilet with brick shower

When starting to build a toilet, you need to consider:

  • Location: the toilet should be located no closer than 30 m from a well or well with drinking water.
  • If the dacha plot has a slope, construction cannot begin below the well or borehole.
  • There is no need to build in a visible place.
  • The door of the house should not open towards the neighbors' property.
  • Wind rose.
  • It is better not to make the toilet closer than 12 m from the house.
  • If groundwater in the area flows at a depth greater than 2.5 m, the type of construction can be any. Otherwise, the circuit with cesspool won't do.

Inside the brick room, a box is placed with backfill, the role of which can be played by sawdust, ash or peat.

Advantages and disadvantages

The most obvious advantage of building from brick, of course, is durability. She is not afraid:

  • moisture;
  • freezing;
  • putrefactive bacteria.

The toilet does not require additional treatment of the brick walls from the outside; again, it is not difficult to build it with your own hands.

Flaws:

  • lack of good protection from the cold (internal insulation is needed);
  • static;
  • relatively expensive construction.

Tools and materials

To build a toilet in your country house with your own hands, you should ensure that you have:

With such a set you will be able to cope with the task yourself. Regular country house construction implies the presence of a coated floor, walls, door and roof. The walls of the building are made of bricks, the floor base is made of concrete, the roof is made of roofing materials.

How to make a toilet in the country with your own hands

Pit construction

Before you start building a toilet in your country house with your own hands, it is recommended to draw up a drawing.

Minimum building dimensions:

  • width (and length) – 1.3 m;
  • depth – 1.5 m.

It would seem that there is nothing stopping you from digging a deeper hole in your dacha. However, a pit with a depth of more than 1.5 m is difficult to empty, so when building with bricks yourself, it is not recommended to exceed this value. The finished pit is lined with red brick, the masonry is plastered and concreted. Allow two to three days for the cement to set.

Concreting increases service life and reduces contamination environment. Make sure the surface remains level. After pouring concrete, you need to wait until it sets. If you use brick building It’s not planned for long, you don’t have to fill the bottom with concrete.

If the walls of the pit are concrete, you first need to build formwork. It can be made of boards connected with nails. You can immediately make formwork with your own hands for the entire height of the pit, or do it in several stages and fill it with concrete gradually. Reinforcement is used to increase strength.

To prepare the solution, use cement grade no less than M-200, crushed stone, sand and water, proportions - 1: 5: 3. Water is added at the rate of 0.65-0.7 m3. per 1m3 concrete. It is important that the mixture is homogeneous. It is better to use a concrete mixer.

A pipe is used to empty the pit; it can be plastic, for example. The pipe enters the pit at an angle, and there must be access to it for the sewer truck that will work at your dacha. To protect the pit from debris, the exiting end of the pipe is covered with a mesh or visor. However, care should be taken to ensure that these elements do not make the work of the vacuum cleaners difficult.

To clean the toilet in the countryside, plastic containers are used. That is, a Eurocube or plastic barrel with the top cut off. To prevent moisture from accumulating under the bottom, the container is placed on a bed of sand and crushed stone.

Masonry mortar

The most popular bricks are: M100, M125, M150 and M200; cement: M300, M400, M500. If the brick is M-4, the cement can be grades: M300, M400, M500.

To determine the grade of mortar, the grade of cement is divided by the total number of parts of cement and sand.

If the cement is M400, and the amount of cement and sand is 4, the grade of mortar is 400/4=100.

If the brick is M100, grade 100 mortar will be obtained by mixing: cement and sand:

  • M300 – 1:2;
  • M400 – 1:3;
  • M500 – 1:4.

During laying, the solution should be stirred periodically so that heavy particles do not accumulate at the bottom. To increase the strength of the solution, organic particles can be added to it: crushed stone, marble, sand, clinker.

Walling

When the pit has set, you can continue to build the structure with your own hands. Before “taking out” the walls, a frame is made from concrete pillars. The frame provides strength to the building and prevents collapse heavy walls. It is recommended to leave a few windows on the back wall to ventilate the room.

When a certain part brick wall will be laid out, the seams will expand. This is done so that the already dry solution does not crumble. Excess dried mortar is wiped off with a dry rag. A level should be used when laying each row of bricks so that neither verticality nor horizontality is compromised.

The front row of brickwork is done “dry”, that is, without using mortar. This makes it possible to properly distribute the vertical seams and eliminates the need to use halves of bricks on the front side. Next comes marking the corners of the building. Then the basement row of bricks is laid out. Even if the height of the building is small, the horizontal should not be neglected. The same applies to the vertical angles. After all corners have been inserted, the cord is tightened. To secure it, nails are stuck into the seams. The masonry continues along the cords.

After laying the first two rows, install wooden frame door, which is strengthened from the outside with spacers. Metal corners are inserted 40 cm from the floor between the bricks of the rear wall to secure the podium. At the very top, another 1-2 rows are made to raise the roof.

a – spoon row; b – butting row: 1–4 – order of actions.

Be sure to provide a window (approximately 20x20 cm). It is recommended to place it above the front door.

Roof

Construction of a toilet cabin in the country

For our simple construction, an ordinary one is quite suitable. pitched roof. It is recommended to slope towards the back wall or sides. The roofing material can be slate or other suitable materials. Remember that raindrops falling on a corrugated roof make a lot of noise!

To make a corner, it is enough to lay an additional row of bricks on one wall of the building. For fastening, a frame made of wood or metal can be used, onto which the roof can be attached with hardware or other fasteners.

The beams to which the roofing material is attached can be laid in the top rows of the brickwork. They are wrapped in roofing felt to protect them from moisture penetrating from the solution. When the solution dries, the sheathing is nailed onto the beams, to which the roofing material is attached.

The roof should extend 10-15 cm beyond the dimensions of the cabin. It is not necessary to make flashings, since the roof area is small for this to be necessary.

Conclusion

Building a toilet with your own hands requires not so much experience as strict adherence to all the rules. If you are not going to go to the dacha in winter, and the toilet will be a temporary building, it can also be built from wood.

The design of a toilet in a country house generally consists of two main parts. They are a place for sewage and the ground part of the structure, in which it will be possible to hide from view during the “procedure”. In this article you will learn how to build a restroom without the help of specialists.

Types of country toilets

To understand and build country toilet do it yourself step by step, you need:

  1. Determine the type of disposal of waste products into the external environment.
  2. Select the location for the toilet on summer cottage in accordance with local conditions and recommended standards for its location.
  3. Decide on the appearance of the ground structure, select materials and decorative parts of the design.

The division into types is based on the location of the sewage. The outer part can be built with your own hands in any form and from any materials, as soon as you please, or for whatever you have enough money and free time. But according to the type of waste disposal, 4 types can be distinguished:

  • powder-closet;
  • backlash-closet;
  • cesspool;
  • dry closet

So, let's figure out how to make a toilet in the countryside in order to choose suitable option according to the type of waste disposal.

Powder closet

In this option, sewage does not go into the cesspool, but into a container that is installed under the toilet seat. It can be an ordinary bucket, box or barrel. The features of this design are as follows:

Let's summarize. To build a powder closet, you only need to take care of its ground structure. Inside, you need to equip a comfortable high chair, under which there will be a remote container for waste, and ventilation. It’s a good idea to organize a box for filler right in the room.

Backlash closet

The advantage of this type of toilet for a summer residence is that it can be installed even in the house. The design features are as follows.

The trick of the design is as follows. It is necessary that the end of the waste pipe from the receiving funnel is much lower than the end of the ventilation pipe, or otherwise the backlash channel, located at the upper boundary of the pit.

It should be laid next to the heating element - vertical pipe heating, chimney. Thus, the air in the backlash channel will be heated from the source, creating a temperature difference due to which odors will predominantly escape through it. At the very top, the backlash channel should be equipped with a deflector.

The cesspool for a backlash closet should be located directly under the toilet or slightly at an angle that will not prevent waste from draining into the pit.

To prevent odors from entering the room, the toilet bowl or toilet seat must be equipped with a lid y, and the room itself must be made ventilated, especially if we are talking about a closet inside a dacha building.

Construction of a sealed pit

The sizes are selected taking into account the number of people living and the activity of using the toilet. There is no need to make a huge cesspool if you come to the dacha seasonally. Usually the calculation is based on 0.5 cubic meters. meters per person. Recommended sizes:

An important point is that the bottom of the hole must be made at an angle. The slope should go from the toilet, and be at least 30 centimeters in height. Thus, sewage will be concentrated under the pumping hatch.

A cesspool of this type must be laid with a brick, along the outer border of which there will be a clay castle. You can do this yourself if you have experience.

For sealed cesspools, you should adhere to location standards regarding buildings (we’re talking about neighbors, rather) and roads (distance of at least 2 meters), as well as adhere to sanitary standards regarding pumping out contaminants. Depending on the number of residents A sewer truck must be called to the dacha once a quarter.

Let's summarize. A backlash closet is convenient in that it can be installed in a heated house. You can do this yourself, but it is much more difficult than installing a backlash closet. It is better to locate the restroom in a remote location from the kitchen or bedrooms. It is necessary to carry out work on arranging a sealed cesspool with the possibility of access to it by a sewer truck, with the ventilation described above, as well as with additional ventilation in the living room.

Pit toilet

The simplest and most common type of toilet for a summer residence. It will not be suitable if the soil on the site is shale or limestone, or if groundwater located close to the surface. The features of this type of toilet are as follows:

Sanitary standards for the location of a cesspool with infiltration into the ground

  • Distance to a river or stream – at least 15 meters;
  • the distance to stagnant bodies of water and plantings of food crops is at least 30 meters;
  • up to no fruit trees, bushes - at least 2 meters, the same distance to the boundaries of the site;
  • distance to buildings and roads – at least 5 meters;
  • at least 30 meters to water sources.

Dry toilet

Dry toilets are divided according to their type into biological and chemical latrines. What is the difference?

Chemical toilets use strong substances to process sewage - inorganic oxidizing agents or organic reagents abiogenic origin. Such fillers are expensive, although they are throughput and the absorption capacity is very high.

After use, they must be sent to a special organization for disposal. It is not possible to do this on your own, since the contents of a used cartridge are very toxic, and its disposal requires appropriate equipment and trained people. For these reasons, chemical toilets are used very rarely in everyday life.

The biological type of dry closet has peat, expanded clay, sawdust and others as fillers. bulk materials, which promotes waste recycling life activity. In principle, this is similar to the powder-closet design. On sale are both separate equipped seats to build a closet house with your own hands, and a plastic cabin with all the necessary devices. Depending on what biological or chemical substances are used in the dry closet, containers for the substances are included.

However, if you decide to choose a dry closet for your dacha, then carefully read its characteristics, the materials used for recycling waste, and the design of the toilet. Take into account the ease of use, waste disposal, as well as the cost of the fillers themselves.

Ground part

Having chosen a place for waste disposal and its design, you can move on to decorating the house. Let's look at the types of country restrooms that will be located on the street.

You can build a toilet in your country house with your own hands and from almost all possible materials:

The choice here is limited only by financial capabilities, as well as by calculation of how long you are going to use the country toilet for its intended purpose. Naturally, booths made of brick or cinder block will last longer in use than models made of wood or plywood. Although literate outer skin And quality roof will be able to extend the service life and preservation of presentable appearance for quite a long time.

To choose a specific diagram of a country house for yourself, you can familiarize yourself with the drawings of the closet for different models.

Naturally, the variety of shapes applies to those models that are built from a frame and then sheathed using lightweight materials. Beginners can only build a traditional country birdhouse from brick or cinder block.

But in order to competently make buildings of other types, you can look for ready-made drawings, on which all sizes will be placed, or create your own unique drawing if it is impossible to contain your imagination.

If you decide to create a house from scratch, then when developing a drawing, take into account that you can fit everything inside it necessary elements, and to make it comfortable to be there. Consider height and complexion of possible visitors this room at your dacha. It’s better to make a spacious house that even the stoutest of your friends can enter.

Toilet seats can be made from either wooden stand, and in the form of a regular toilet. Just choose one so that the passage of waste into the cesspool is unhindered. The flushing function is not provided for country premises.

Models of toilet houses are of the following types:

In principle, there is nothing complicated about this. You just need to assemble the frame and then sheathe it using the selected type of materials. The house can be installed directly on the ground. There is no need for a foundation for it. All you need to do is immerse the frame about 30 centimeters into the soil. That is, make sure to make an elongated leg in each lower corner so that you can fix the cottage toilet house on the ground.

Nowadays, summer cottages are becoming more popular every year, because many people want to protect their family or protect them from noisy cities for a while and take them to an ecologically clean area. When you buy a property, very often it is not equipped with amenities such as a bath and toilet in the house or even outside, so in some cases, you will need on our own build a toilet outside. To begin with, you will have to decide how the construction will take place and what kind of material will be chosen. Usually wood is chosen, because then construction will be the easiest and fastest. If you don't know how to build a toilet out of blocks, then the first step is preparatory work.

That is, to begin with, you will need to purchase required material. If built with concrete blocks, you will need to purchase and transport the blocks. When wooden toilet, you will need to bring wooden beams. When the actual construction begins, you will need to consider which way the wind will blow. This is necessary in order to completely avoid the unpleasant odor, which is simply inevitable after a while. Next, you need to pay attention to the groundwater levels, because when you dig drain hole, it should be located slightly above the intended level. Choose no more than 1.5 meters so that in winter you do not feel unpleasant fumes. Move your toilet away from sources of drinking water and select a low-lying area in this area so that you cannot pollute the water (soil) with new construction. Pay attention to the general regulations, which will indicate the minimum distances to the nearest plot.

Wide selection of building blocks! Choose the best option for yourself. Go to catalog

So, in your work you will have to use: cement, lumber, concrete ring, nail, slate. Divide your construction into three stages, because first you will need to dig a cesspool, then you will need to finish and insulate the hole, and in the final stage, build the house itself. When you are finishing the pit, it is easiest to use ready-made reinforced concrete rings, which you can buy at any hardware store. You are given a choice, because the rings can be easily replaced with brick cladding. You will have to concrete the bottom at certain slopes in the direction where there will be a slope towards the future hole (pit).

The corners will need to be recessed by no less than 60 cm, for this purpose it is usually used asbestos cement pipe. A pole will be placed on such a pipe, which will need to be impregnated in advance. bitumen mastics. And only after that this structure will need to be cemented. Bottom harness should be constructed no less than 50 cm from the common base. Pay attention to the thickness of the boards, because they should not exceed 4 centimeters. After this, proceed to the second stage - flooring. Next, you will need to cut holes in the far parts, the dimensions of which should not exceed 0.2 * 0.2 meters. Sheathe the frame; to do this, carefully use the boards, because they should fit tightly next to each other. After which you will need to make a door that should be installed on a hinge - 2-3 and attach latches inside the resulting house.

Next you need to deal with the seat, which is usually knocked down by plywood. A so-called cube is made, which has no bottom, and the dimensions are very often standard, that is, 40*40*40 centimeters. Then you need to firmly secure such a toilet seat over a hole on the ground, cut out a hole in the shape of a circle and attach the ring from the toilet to the resulting toilet seat. . In any case, if questions arise in the field of how to build a toilet from blocks, intuition can help you, because in fact, in the course of work, this work not difficult.

After the work is completed, we move on to the roof. Usually, ordinary slate is chosen, its dimensions are 175 * 125 centimeters. The slate must be nailed on top with special slate nails. All this design made of blocks must be carefully treated with fungicidal impregnation and some compounds that will not allow your structure to rot. After finishing and processing, we enjoy our design - the building is ready.

How to make a toilet in the country - a few simple construction methods for beginners

Andrey

The toilet is one of the most necessary objects in the country. Therefore, experienced people always advise starting with the arrangement of a bare area from there. But how to make a toilet yourself, without having any experience in such work?

Country outdoor toilet

Next I will try to help in this matter. Of course, we will not consider how to install the installation in the house or perform any other complex operation. Below I will just describe a few of the simplest ways to build an outdoor closet, aimed at novice craftsmen. We will also touch on some aspects of arranging a restroom in a house or inside another building.

Options for constructing an external closet

You can build a toilet at your dacha from almost any materials that you have at hand. For example, if you are going to build country house, and purchased building materials with a good supply, then the toilet can be built from the same materials, for example, from foam blocks. bricks, etc. In this case it will work capital construction with solid walls, however, construction will have to take a relatively long time.

If you want to build a toilet with minimal time and effort, it is better to make it framed from timber or metal profiles, and then cover it with any material that is at hand:

  • boards;
  • clapboard;
  • polycarbonate;
  • corrugated sheeting, etc.;

If there is already a building on the site with enough free space for a toilet, then you don’t have to build a stall. Below I will tell you how to make a toilet in a garage, in a house or any other building that is on the site.

Regardless of how you build the toilet, this procedure will include several main steps:

Main stages of construction

Below we will take a closer look at all these stages.

Toilet design

So, first of all, we need to draw up a project for the future construction. This stage involves solving several important tasks at once:

Design stages

In fact, there is nothing complicated about this, however, each stage has its own nuances.

Cabin design

The simplest is the frame structure of the toilet. The frame, as a rule, consists of four racks, as well as lower and upper trim. To increase strength, braces and cross members are additionally used.

Of course, you can use more if you wish. complex frame, for example, to make a closet in the form of a tower. Also, sometimes a toilet and Summer shower, which is also very convenient. Moreover, the layout may also include a locker room so that things do not get wet while taking a shower.

An example of a frame toilet project in the form of a mansion

On our portal you can find other ideas for the toilet. The main thing is that their level of complexity is commensurate with your skills. If this is your first time doing this kind of work, then it is better to make a simple rectangular booth.

The design of a brick or block closet is simpler, since all the walls are built by laying bricks or blocks. Therefore, the drawing should indicate only their location and the number of rows on each wall for convenience further work.

However, before drawing up a drawing of the building, you need to decide on its dimensions. The latter, of course, can be taken arbitrarily at will, however, there are some generally accepted standards:

  • height – 2 meters. This is usually quite enough, however, if the family has tall people, this parameter can be increased;
  • the width according to the standards should be at least one and a half meters;
  • length - 2 meters, this is also enough to place a toilet seat and provide a spacious area in front of it.

Example of a 3D toilet design

When drawing up a drawing, it is necessary to indicate not only the general dimensions of the toilet, but also the dimensions of all parts in millimeters, in order to avoid mistakes during the construction process. After this, you can calculate the amount of materials.

Toilet type

After the cabin design is ready, you need to decide how the waste will be accumulated or processed. Depending on this, external closets can be divided into several types:

  • with a cesspool - in this case there is a pit under the toilet, which is usually cleaned every few years;

Powder-closet device diagram

  • powder closet - in this case, there is a small container under the toilet seat, which is taken out and emptied from time to time;
  • a dry closet is essentially the same powder closet, but in this case the waste is sprinkled with peat, as a result of which it immediately begins to be processed. After filling the container, waste is poured into compost pit, where over time an excellent fertilizer for plants is formed.

It must be said that a dry closet can be placed even in a house or any other room. In this case, no additional plumbing is needed for the toilet. The only thing is that you will have to make partitions, for example, from plasterboard.

A dry toilet can be installed even in the house

Ready-made dry closets are available for sale in the form plastic toilets with a tank. Instead of water, the tank contains peat. The price of these products starts from 4500-5000 rubles.

The most common is a toilet with a cesspool, since after its construction you can forget about any maintenance for several years. The pit must have sealed walls and a filter bottom to remove liquid waste components. A layer of sand and crushed stone is used as a filter.

Groundwater must be located at a depth of at least six meters from the soil level. Otherwise, the bottom of the cesspool must be sealed.

As for the volume of the pit, two cubic meters is enough for a family of three to clean it every few years. If you have a large family and you will spend a lot of time at the dacha, you can increase its volume to 2.5 cubic meters.

Of course, it is much easier and faster to make a powder closet, however, it is less convenient in terms of use, since you will have to empty the container often. But, if you have made such a decision, place a bucket of peat near the toilet seat so that after each visit to the restroom you can sprinkle the contents of the bucket with peat. Thus, you will have a dry closet.

Minimum distances to objects on the site according to sanitary standards

Selecting a location

The final stage of designing a toilet with your own hands is determining its location. You can place a dry closet or powder closet in any place convenient for you.

If there are differences in levels on the site, then the toilet should be located as close as possible to the highest point in order to exclude the possibility of it being flooded by melted or storm water.

But when choosing a place for a toilet with a cesspool, you must comply certain rules. The fact is that, according to sanitary standards, a certain distance must be maintained from the toilet to important objects on the site:

The toilet should be located on the site so that unpleasant odors do not interfere with your rest or the rest of your neighbors.

In addition, it should be borne in mind that sooner or later the hole will have to be cleaned out. Therefore, it is advisable to place the toilet closer to the outer fence so that a sewage truck can drive up to it.

After preparing the project, you can begin the practical part - construction.

Pit preparation

Construction of a block or brick toilet

Preparing the cesspool and foundation

First of all, let's look at how to build a permanent toilet from blocks and bricks. The work should begin with the construction of a cesspool, which in our case will serve as the foundation. Instructions for doing this work look something like this:

  1. First of all, you need to mark the site. It is advisable to position the pit so that it is at least 30-40 centimeters longer than the cabin. In this case, you can make a hatch behind the toilet to pump out waste. During the marking process, it should be taken into account that the minimum width between the walls should be one and a half meters. Those. the width of the pit must be determined taking into account the thickness of the walls;
  2. Next you need to dig a hole to a depth of about one and a half meters;
  3. then the bottom is covered with sand and crushed stone, after which it is carefully compacted. If there is groundwater nearby, the bottom should be reinforced and covered with concrete;

Cesspool with brick walls

  1. Next, the walls of the pit are made. They can be built from brick or filled with concrete. This operation is performed on the same principle as strip foundation. On our portal you can find detailed information on how this is done;
  2. when the walls are ready, you need to pour a concrete floor with a thickness of at least 5 cm. To pour the slab, you need to perform formwork and reinforcement, just like for the walls. At the same time, do not forget to make a hatch above the toilet seat, and also leave open area, which will be located behind the toilet.

After each filling stage, i.e. pouring the bottom, floor, walls and ceiling, you need to stop working so that the concrete gains the necessary strength.

This completes the process of constructing a cesspool. Now you need to wait until the concrete gains brand strength.

Construction of a brick toilet

Construction of walls and roof

The laying of the toilet walls has no special features and is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. along the perimeter concrete slab several layers of roofing material should be laid to waterproof the walls;
  2. then laying bricks or blocks is carried out. There is nothing particularly complicated about this procedure. The only thing is that you need to carefully lay each row so that all the bricks are located in the same horizontal and vertical plane. To do this, you need to use a level and also pull ropes that will serve as beacons. In addition, try to ensure that all joints have the same thickness (about 5 mm) and are completely filled with mortar;

Laying bricks on the lighthouse

  1. above the door and window openings jumpers must be made. For these purposes, you can use two metal corners, located so that a brick or block can stand on them;
  2. When the walls are “raised” to the required height, you need to complete the roof. To do this, lay boards that can be secured to the walls using dowels. A waterproofing film is laid on top of the boards and sheathing is done with slats.

Any roofing material– slate, corrugated sheets, metal tiles, etc.

The back wall of the toilet should be 15-20 centimeters lower than the front wall to ensure a slope of the roof.

At this point, the construction of the major toilet is almost complete. Now you need to make a toilet seat from the boards, which is a box with a hatch, and also install a door and make a cover for the pit from the boards. Below I will tell you in more detail how the door and toilet seat are made.

In the photo - a cesspool made from stingrays

Construction of a cesspool and foundation

If the toilet will be your first construction experience, then it is better to make it frame, as it is much simpler. In this case, the cesspool can be made from car tires.

To do this you need to do the following actions:

  1. First of all, you need to mark the area and dig a hole in the back of the toilet. Its dimensions should be such that the tires can be laid flat;
  2. then the bottom of the pit is made according to the scheme described above, after which tires are stacked on top of each other until they reach ground level;
  3. Now we need to make a columnar foundation. To do this, you need to dig holes the size of the concrete blocks at each corner of the structure to a depth of about 40 cm. After this, the bottom of the holes needs to be filled with sand and crushed stone about 30 cm thick, thoroughly compacted and then laid concrete blocks. The blocks must be located in the same horizontal plane, so when installing them, use beacons and a level;
  4. To complete the work, you need to lay several layers of roofing felt on the blocks.

Now that the pit and foundation are ready, you can begin arranging the frame.

Construction of a frame toilet

Frame construction

The easiest way is to build a frame from timber with a cross-section of 50x50 mm, since this does not require a welding machine or any special tools. It is made as follows:

  1. A grillage in the form of a rectangle of timber is laid on the foundation. You can fasten the beams together with self-tapping screws and metal corners;

Toilet base

  1. then, using the same principle, vertical posts are installed, which can be strengthened with braces;

Mounting example vertical racks

  1. A crossbar is mounted at the base, which will separate the toilet seat area from the floor. The racks of the toilet seat will be located on this crossbar in the future;
  2. the top trim is made on top, which is also fastened with corners and self-tapping screws;
  3. now you need to secure the racks and crossbars at the locations of the door and window openings;
  4. To complete the work, you need to make the frame of the toilet seat, which also consists of racks from horizontal crossbars.

Sheathing

Now that the frame is ready, it needs to be sheathed. As mentioned above, it can be made from any “available” materials. For example, polycarbonate cladding looks original.

If the exterior of the site is made in a rustic or Russian style, make it from clapboard or at least from boards. The sheathing is also attached to the frame using our favorite self-tapping screws. The toilet seat is lined using the same principle.

Covering the frame with boards

The roof is made according to the scheme described above. As for the door, it can be made from boards of suitable length, which are fastened together with Z-shaped slats. Boards are simply laid on the floor of the toilet.

Example of a toilet seat

That’s basically all I wanted to tell you about building an outdoor toilet. I note that the presence of a restroom on the site does not mean at all that you need to give up the amenities in the house. On the contrary, if the restroom was not originally planned, you can allocate space for it at the expense of the living room.

In this case, a dry toilet is not the only way to arrange a toilet in the house. If you want to create the most comfortable conditions, you can perform autonomous sewerage and install a septic tank.

In this case, even installation of the installation in the toilet can be realized. However, this is a separate topic for conversation, which we will talk about next time.

Conclusion

Building a toilet is a task that every home craftsman can handle. Moreover, build frame structure you can do it yourself in just a few days. I hope the information above was useful to you.
