Plywood drawings for artistic cutting with a jigsaw. DIY plywood crafts: working with a jigsaw, photos and pictures Interesting plywood products

Sawing out of plywood is one of the most fascinating and, moreover, useful options leisure! It develops creative skills, accuracy and precision, instills work skills and helps to master various tools.

As part of our article, we want to introduce you to the technology of sawing from plywood sheets and two easy-to-make crafts. All drawings are included, so if you wish, you can repeat them with your own hands, together with your children, who will certainly be interested in this process from start to finish.

General cutting technology + ideas for crafts made from plywood

Plywood is a universal material used in the most various fields! You can create many amazing things from it, which is what we will do now. Like any other creative activity, sawing from plywood sheets begins with preparing tools and material.

A simple set of tools

So, we will need:

  • . It is a wooden or metal frame shaped like the letter “P”. At the ends of this frame there are special clamps with screws into which the nail file is secured.

For your information!
Jigsaw files are thin and narrow steel strips with sharp teeth on one side.
Alas, they break easily, so it is better to take them with a reserve.
Fortunately, the price of these devices is quite low.

  • Special key for securing the file in the jigsaw.

  • Three-layer plywood sheets (the thinnest)- This best material for cutting something out with a jigsaw. But if you don’t have thin plywood, then you can use thick plywood (from 4 to 9 mm).

  • Sawing stand. You can make it yourself from a board about 10 millimeters thick. The stand is positioned on the table so that the part with the cutout hangs over its edge. It can be secured to the workplace using screws or nails.

  • Skin (coarse-grained and fine-grained).
  • Awl, files and needle files.
  • Pliers - in case the file gets stuck in the plywood - they are very convenient to pull it out.
  • Hacksaw (in case you have to).
  • Copy paper.
  • Several sharpened pencils.
  • PVA glue .

  • Drawings of the future.

Sawing technology

For convenience, below is step-by-step instruction, in which the process of working with plywood is described in detail:

  1. First of all, you need to prepare your desktop. Wipe it with a damp cloth to remove small mounds of sawdust and dust. Check that all the tools are in their place. The room in which your workplace should always be ventilated and well lit.
  2. Next comes the preparation of the most important tool - the jigsaw. To do this, unscrew the screws and secure the ends of the nail file in its clamps.
    The file is inserted so that the direction of its teeth is not inside the jigsaw frame, but forward with a downward slope. The inclination of the teeth is easy to check - just run your finger along them. The already inserted nail file is tensioned using several turns of the tension screw.

Important!
The file needs to be pulled tight, otherwise it will not cut well and will quickly break.

In this way, the file is fixed into a wooden manual jigsaw. Concerning metal tool, then here this process is a little different.

First, one end of the file is inserted into the lower clamp, then the end of the jigsaw where the upper clamp is located rests against the edge of the table. Next, you need to lightly press the handle with your chest so that the jigsaw frame bends slightly and the clamps come closer together.

While holding the tool in this position, you need to secure the second end of the nail file in the upper clamp. After this, the jigsaw is released: the frame takes its original shape, the ends with its clamps diverge again and tighten the file.

  1. Have you noticed that the surface of the plywood is a little rough, and in some places there are cracks and chips? You need to get rid of them using sandpaper, sanding all defects against the grain. The quality should be even, absolutely smooth, silky to the touch and glossy in the light.
    After this, check the plywood sheet again - if there are no visible defects, then you can proceed to drawing the drawing.

  1. A drawing of the future craft is drawn on a sheet of paper. Then a suitable piece of plywood is covered with a sheet of carbon paper, a drawing is placed on top, secured with buttons and outlined with a sharp pencil.
  1. The plywood with the translated pattern is placed on the stand, and the jigsaw is positioned so that the file is in the slot of the stand. The parts are cut out using up and down movements. The file only cuts when moving downwards; at this time it is necessary to slightly press it forward.

Advice! Watch carefully - the nail file should move straight perpendicular to the plywood, without tilting. And when the drawing requires you to make a turn, then turn the plywood, not the jigsaw.

If the parts have internal holes, then cutting should begin with them, and only then move on to the external contours. To cut a hole efficiently, make a puncture on its edge with an awl or drill. Next, release one end of the jigsaw file from the clamp, thread it through the puncture made and secure it with the clamp again. Having cut the required hole, remove the nail file in exactly the same way.

Attention!
During operation, the file becomes very hot and, becoming hot, quickly becomes dull and breaks.
Therefore, periodically cool it by wiping it with a damp cloth or taking a break.

  1. Clean all sawn parts: holes and ribs of deep recesses with a file, the rest of the surface with fine-grained sandpaper.
  2. Final stages– assembly and gluing of the craft with PVA glue. There shouldn’t be any difficulties here, the main thing is to understand the drawing correctly.

If you wish, you can also paint the product, varnish it, or burn a beautiful pattern onto it. It all depends on your imagination!

Mercedes car model

Try to cut out such a simple Mercedes model, which can become the first in your collection of toy cars. Drawings of crafts made from plywood using a jigsaw will be presented below. When assembling a craft, look at them, or rather, at the numbers by which the assembly is carried out.

This is done according to the following rule: part number 1 is attached to another part number 1, two to the second, and so on. If some parts cannot be inserted into the required grooves, file them down or clean them with needle files. Did you manage to assemble the product without any problems? You can safely glue all the parts together!

Animal figurines

A very simple, but nevertheless interesting idea. So, together with your children, you can have fun cutting out various animal figures from plywood. To do this, you just need to cut out four legs and glue them to the body on both sides to give the toy stability. In some cases, stands are made and the figures are mounted on them.

As a result, you may end up with a whole toy zoo or a story scene. Believe me, children will be delighted with such an exciting activity, and it won’t take up much of your time. Then you can ask your wife to help the guys color their new “friends.”

Conclusion

Creating all sorts of products with your own hands is always exciting! After all, personal work, time and a piece of creative thought are invested in every detail. Therefore, finished crafts are valued as a real work of art and are found in the most honorable places in the house. In the video presented in this article you will find additional information on this topic. Have a creative flight!

Similar materials

An electric jigsaw is used by home craftsmen to create beautiful products made of plywood and wood. Such crafts are used for a variety of purposes. They can be decorative or serve as household items. Every home craftsman who is interested in this activity should know the features of working with the tool.

You should learn more about how to use the “miracle jigsaw” and what can be cut with it.

Subtleties of working with a jigsaw

A jigsaw is a universal device that is used for cutting shaped products from various materials. All you need is to choose the right canvas. It is important to understand how to cut out shapes of complex shapes. Many novice craftsmen need to figure out how bevels on boards and various constituent elements crafts. Electric jigsaws work best when cutting wood coniferous species. However, the thickness of the elements from which cutting is performed should not exceed 3.8 cm.

Blades that will be inserted into a jigsaw quite often bend and leave beveled edges. A straight cut is usually achieved with a well-sharpened blade. However, you should not put too much pressure on the tool while working.

You should first start the saw at the highest speed, and then select the blade angle. This will result in fewer chips. In materials that are highly brittle, it is necessary to drill holes. This will allow you to saw off the workpiece without unnecessary risk. As a result, there is no chipping of the part.

To ensure fast cutting, coarse blades should be used. However, it should be taken into account that when choosing such consumables, it will be more difficult to sand them later. Blades for electric jigsaws are made in such a way that the cut is made when the blade moves upward.

Choosing the Right Blade

Blade selection for electric jigsaw is the main point when cutting wood and plywood. Often a jigsaw lies idle in a home craftsman's household. However, when you need to make a complex pattern, this tool is more necessary than ever.

Quite often, an electric jigsaw is used as a tool for cutting a hole in a tabletop or during installation. kitchen sink. This tool is also used for cutting metal. When using other saws, it is often impossible to complete the assigned tasks. A jigsaw is a universal device. Both beginners and experienced people can work with it House master. As a result, you can get excellent results using different materials- plastic, wood, plywood.

How to use the tool

A jigsaw is used for a variety of tasks. Its main function is to cut curved shapes into wooden products. Getting smooth curves using this tool is quite easy. The base of the tool should be kept level on the workpiece. When the preparation is completed, you can begin the main work. Then the engine is turned on and the device is slowly moved along a pre-marked line, at a distance of 2 mm from it. Fine sanding is done later.

The saw should be moved at such a pace that the blade can easily cut through the material without any deflection. A jigsaw works great when cutting boards crosswise. A stop must be used if a perfect cut is required. Bevel cuts are fairly easy to make using a jigsaw. Before work, it is necessary to firmly secure the workpiece.

If an oblique or vertical cut is being made, the distance between the blade and the stop is set to the same as on a circular table. If you need to make a precise and long cut, it is difficult to work with a jigsaw. In this case, first use circular saw. The final cutting of the element is performed with a jigsaw. It must be pressed firmly against inside marked line.

Where to start

First, the workplace is properly organized. Fulfilling this condition is especially important for high-quality cutting. If the space is arranged correctly, work will be convenient and comfortable. This condition is necessary to create a quality product.

The thrust structure is a special machine. People call it “swallowtail”. This table is made from rectangular boards. It has a wedge-shaped incision that goes into work area. Dovetail attached to the edge of the table.

An electric jigsaw can be used while standing or sitting. The workpiece should be located at a distance of 40 cm from the eyes. It is necessary that the lighting lamp be installed in front of the master. It is placed at an angle to the surface.

Tool preparation

The saw blade in a jigsaw must be fixed in a strictly vertical position. The teeth should point down. Before work, you need to stretch the fabric well. The degree of tension must be adjusted by compressing the frame. The device must be rested against the edge of the table. Then you should tighten the lambs with pliers. When straightening the frame, the canvas will stretch.

To cut out parts with a jigsaw small size, or shapes with sharp contours, you need to choose small files. This requires using fabrics with a large number of patterns per inch. When using them, the jigsaw does not jam when making turns. The cut is created neat and thin. If large-sized plywood products are made, it is necessary to use blades with large teeth.

How to cut with a jigsaw

To obtain an accurate cut, a number of conditions must be met:

  • The hand holding the jigsaw should only move vertically.
  • All movements must be made as smoothly as possible, without jerking. In addition, they must be performed with maximum amplitude. This is necessary to use the entire canvas.
  • With the second hand, the workpiece turns smoothly during operation.
  • Do not put too much pressure on the workpiece with the saw. No lateral pressure on the blade is allowed.
  • Artistic sawing is carried out only when the file moves from top to bottom. For this reason, the reverse movement must be performed without pressure.

When working with a hand jigsaw it must be driven not along the marked line. The canvas should be drawn along the inside of the contour. This is due to the presence of a kerf after sawing. After completing the work, one of the clamps should be loosened. The frame of the device should not lose its elasticity.

Jewelry box

You can make a beautiful and spacious jewelry box for Valentine's Day or International Women's Day. To complete such a craft, you will need to use an accurate drawing. The work is divided into several stages.

Preparing the work area

Before you start cutting out the parts of the box, you should prepare your workspace. A special table is installed for this purpose. The craft will be created on it. In this case, the following rules are observed:

  • There should be no unnecessary items at the table while working.
  • The cutting device should always be at hand. A specific place is reserved for it.
  • Crafting table. It is placed in a ventilated area. The room should be light and spacious.

However, it is not always possible to install a table for cutting with a jigsaw in in the right place. TO ordinary apartment The workbench is usually placed on the balcony if it is insulated. At the same time, you can work on crafts in any weather.

Plywood selection

For the box you need to use a plywood sheet. When choosing a workpiece, you should pay attention to defects that often appear - cracks or knots. The workpiece is selected with a thickness indicated in the diagram. To transfer the drawing to the material, you should:

  • Sand the workpiece with sandpaper. You should start with coarse-grained material. This processing ends sandpaper with small grains.
  • The surface must be level. To do this, you need to fix the sandpaper in the sanding device. If you don't have one, you can take a small block and wrap it in sandpaper.
  • Grinding is carried out along the layers of wood.
  • The workpiece is ground until its surface becomes as smooth as possible.

After such preparation, you should transfer the craft template onto it.

Transferring the template to a plywood sheet

Before starting sawing, you should transfer the prepared drawing to a plywood blank. First you will have to print the drawing on paper. To transfer, you must have tracing paper and a pen. First, the template is attached to the workpiece with tape. Having a blank in front of you, you should think about how to cut out the different elements of the box, saving the available material as much as possible.

Sawing out the box

When cutting, you need to adhere to some rules:

  • The jigsaw should be positioned perpendicular to the product.
  • It is necessary to ensure that all movements are performed as smoothly as possible. You should not rush while cutting - this way you can make a mistake and ruin a piece of material.
  • It is necessary to use a sawing table.
  • First you need to cut out the internal elements. Only after this they begin cutting the contour.

When leaving the cutting line, it is necessary to correct the line with a needle file while assembling the product.

Advice! During work, your hands will get tired. In this case, productivity drops significantly. Fingers and eyes get seriously tired. All this can lead to hand injuries. This is why it is necessary to take breaks from work.

Assembling the box

Before assembly, you must familiarize yourself with the product drawing. Matching the pieces of a jewelry box does not require any delicate work. Before gluing different elements you need to make sure that they can be put together without problems. After several assemblies of the product without any difficulties, you should begin gluing the parts. Typically, a PVA composition is used for this purpose. During operation, it is necessary to eliminate any glue leaks.

Assembling a steam locomotive model

When the material is prepared and the drawing is printed, you should begin the process of transferring the diagram to the workpiece. In this case, it is necessary to take into account some operating rules. Many home craftsmen tend to transfer a drawing onto plywood using only a copy and a pencil. However, you can also use the “Black Ribbon”. When choosing this tool, the drawing is glued to the workpiece. Then the diagram is washed off the plywood with water, leaving only the marking lines.

Then you can make holes in the parts of the future locomotive. The parts of the locomotive contain parts of grooves cut out from the inside. To make such elements, holes should be made in them with a hand drill or an awl. The holes must be at least 1 mm in diameter. To avoid damaging the table surface when creating holes, you should place a board under the workpiece.

Now you can cut out the parts. You should not rush when cutting. The basic rule is to hold the jigsaw at right angles to the workpiece. All elements must be performed smoothly, avoiding unevenness.

Beginners who want to try their hand at making wood products are advised to start with plywood. It is quite easy to process and has a huge range of applications, thanks to which this material can be called universal.

Plywood sheets are used to make furniture and toys. So why not try to make crafts from plywood with your own hands; almost everyone has probably seen pictures of such trinkets, so you can get a certain idea about them.

Features of materials and tools

Plywood – sheet material natural wood origin, consisting of several layers of the finest glued veneer.

Note! DIY plywood crafts can be made from birch, pine, and beech plywood. This depends on the wood used to make the veneer.

When choosing material for your work, you should pay attention not only to the type of wood, but also to specifications the material itself.

These characteristics include:

  • Grade - the fewer defects a plywood sheet has, the higher the grade of the material. If you make decorative crafts from plywood with your own hands using a jigsaw, then you need veneer of the first and second grades. Of course, the price of such material is much higher, but attractive appearance For such crafts it is required.

Note! You can save on making crafts if the project involves painting, gluing or installing cladding on ready product. In this case, you can make a craft from low-grade material, provided that the presence of defects on the plywood will not reduce the strength of the craft.

  • Thickness – today you can purchase plywood products whose thickness is in the range of 0.5-20 mm. The choice of material according to this indicator will depend on the purpose. For example, for decorative crafts Thin plywood up to 0.5 cm thick is suitable. The thickest material is used for the manufacture of furniture.
  • Humidity – if you want to immediately start making products, then it is recommended to buy the driest material, because the fibers of wet veneer can lead to breakage of the jigsaw. That is why it is better to dry the plywood before work.

Note! If you decide to make crafts for your dacha out of plywood with your own hands, make sure that the material has increased level moisture resistance, because street conditions operation has an aggressive effect on plywood products.

Tools for work:

  • electric jigsaw for cutting material;
  • a set of files for a jigsaw (you should not skimp on this tool, since it depends not only on comfort, but also on the quality of the work itself);

Note! Files - as consumables, it is better to purchase in quantities of several pieces. You must have some stock.

  • electric or hand drill for making holes;
  • an awl for working with thin materials (can be used to draw the outlines of a design);
  • sanding machine for processing edges;
  • a set of measuring devices (compasses, tape measures, squares).

This set is designed to perform the most simple crafts from plywood. If you want to make your job more complex, you may need other tools.

The initial process of making souvenir crafts

Do-it-yourself souvenir crafts made from plywood, photos of which you could see above, were created according to conventional technology, which we will consider using the example of an openwork decorative shelf.

Product manufacturing sequence:

  1. To begin with, an appropriate scheme is selected or designed, according to which markings will be applied to the plywood and cut. You can find the drawings online or get them from this resource.
  2. The diagram, which can be printed or drawn, must be transferred to plywood using carbon paper.
  3. If simple shapes predominate in the craft, you can use an awl to transfer the image. To do this, leave marks at the most basic points and connect them together using a ruler.
  4. If the design of your craft, as in our case, has through holes, then you need to sketch out the areas that will be removed. In addition, you need to make a small nest so that the jigsaw file can fit into it.

Note! The thinner the drill you use, the cleaner and neater the workpiece will be.

Product cutting process

Sawing process:

  1. A file from an electric jigsaw is inserted into a pre-made socket and clamped with screws.
  2. It is recommended to work while standing, so make sure that your workbench or tabletop has a free surface and is placed slightly above waist level.
  3. The plywood sheet must be moved so that the jigsaw blade moves according to the markings made.
  4. If the blade of your jigsaw moves to the side, pause the cut, move the jigsaw back a little and repeat the movement, trying to return to the desired place.
  5. After the cut is completed, the workpiece is removed.

Note! If your craft has a complex shape, the cutting should be done carefully, gradually moving the jigsaw from one edge of the product to the other. This will eliminate the possibility of plywood breaking in a thin area.

Children's crafts made from plywood with their own hands, photos of which you could also see in this article, are made only in the same way. But in this case, you must remember that the plywood should not have any defects or damage on the surface, as this can lead to injury to the child.

To avoid such problems, it is necessary at the initial stage to purchase high-quality plywood, without any serious damage. And after the craft is finished, all edges of the workpiece are carefully worked out and cleaned with sandpaper. You should use coarse grain paper first and then move on to fine grain paper to achieve an even and smooth surface.

It is very important, especially if you are working with children's crafts, to choose the right plywood. It should not contain any toxic additives. As a rule, such additives are found in impregnations used for the manufacture of plywood with high level moisture resistance, intended for outdoor use.

Decorating the garden with plywood crafts

Those who have at their disposal country cottage area or a private house You will be interested in DIY plywood crafts for the garden. Thanks to the technology described above, you can create not only decorative figures for your home and souvenirs, but also crafts that can decorate your yard or garden.

For the manufacture of such products, the most stable and moisture-resistant plywood is taken. You can use laminated plywood designed for construction work. Or take moisture-resistant plywood and impregnate it with a special antiseptic, which can protect it from the harmful effects of environmental conditions.

The fact is that constant exposure to the sun, humidity and temperature changes can ruin the product, which will not last long in such conditions. As protective measure You can also use special paint for wood, which will serve as another protective layer, and at the same time allow you to decorate your figures at your discretion. Bright figures in the yard can emphasize the beauty and individuality of your home, as well as create the necessary atmosphere. With their help you can design a children's playground.

Note! Even in winter time you can decorate your yard interesting crafts and compose entire compositions.

Having mastered all the intricacies of making crafts from plywood, you can decorate your yard and home for every holiday and surprise others with your imagination and skills.

In addition to decorative purposes, plywood crafts can also serve a functional role. For example, you can make a birdhouse and hang it on a tree.

Sometimes you really want to decorate a gray summer cottage or brighten up the interior of a room an unusual craft so that the eye will rejoice looking at such beauty, and friends who come to visit will be surprised and admire your originality. Great option This kind of decoration is made from plywood with your own hands. This homemade product will also serve as an excellent gift for your family and friends.

Advantages of plywood crafts

There are several advantages:

Plywood also has a couple of disadvantages. Firstly, it has poor resistance to moisture (but this can be prevented by covering the wood with varnish or a special water-repellent composition), and secondly, it is often of poor quality, easily splits and is difficult to cut and sand.

What about more specific examples? There are many different types crafts made of wood and plywood using different techniques. The most famous of them:

Woodburning

You always need to start simple. Therefore, first we will make a small picture using the burning technique. In order to make a product using this technique, you will need:

If there are nicks or irregularities on the plywood sheet, sand it with sandpaper.

First, draw or print a sketch on a piece of paper. Now you should transfer it to plywood. To do this, place carbon paper on it, and your sketch on top, and lightly trace it with a pencil. The sketch lines should be transferred to the plywood. If they end up on the reverse paper, turn the carbon copy over and repeat the same thing. When transferring a drawing, you cannot move the paper or plywood, or take away the drawing to see what happened, as the drawing may get lost. Trace the sketch sequentially so as not to get confused about what you have already transferred and what you have not.

Now we can move on to the fun part. Plug in the burner and wait until it warms up. It has several operating modes (depending on the temperature, like an iron). To make thin and neat strokes, use low heat, and for thicker lines use high heat. If your plywood is thin, be careful with high temperatures, since the burner can burn through it. Therefore, you need to put something dense on the work surface, for example, another sheet of plywood, so as not to damage it.

Move with neat strokes from top to bottom; no need to press hard on the tool. Remember the technique fire safety and rules for working with heating devices, so as not to get burns and damage your property.

When the drawing is ready, you can color it or leave it as is. And then coat it with colorless varnish so that a glossy shine appears and the craft is protected from moisture.

Here is an example of a do-it-yourself plywood product using the burning technique - simple and tasteful!

Figure sawing

For decorating a cottage or home interior rustic style Plywood figures cut with a jigsaw (both electric and manual) are perfect. For such work, you need to select the simplest possible sketch or drawing of plywood crafts. For example, this one:

Before work, the wood should also be sanded with sandpaper, and then the sketch should be transferred to the prepared material. You can start cutting! Sand the resulting product along the edges, paint (if desired) and also varnish. If it is intended for decoration personal plot, which means it will be on outdoors, it is better to cover it with a special water-repellent solution.

Here are some ideas that can be easily brought to life: showing patience and imagination:

Openwork carving

Beautiful sophisticated patterns that can decorate any exquisite interior, can be created independently using a file (jigsaw), hand drill, auxiliary tools(sewl, sandpaper, copy paper). You will also need a sketch (it can be easily found on the Internet) and colorless varnish to give the product a finished look.

Getting started is similar to the previous techniques.

You need to prepare the plywood and transfer the drawing. Then, in all places where the cut begins, you need to make small holes with an awl or drill. And only after that start working with a jigsaw. When working, it must be directed from top to bottom, so it is better to work on the edge of the table, firmly securing a sheet of plywood to it. The jigsaw should move easily, freely, without applying much effort, otherwise the tree may not withstand it and crack.

If this does happen, the broken area can be glued together with superglue, but the product will no longer be so durable and may lose its appearance a little. After finishing the file, sand the edges with sandpaper and coat everything with varnish. Ready!

Useful things

From plywood and wood you can make not only decorative elements, but also useful things. For example, thicker plywood makes excellent shelves, photo frames, children's construction sets, model houses, cars and many other interesting products!

Designer's work in in a broad sense implies that a person has a developed imagination, the ability to generate creative ideas and embody them in the form of objects that have a completely utilitarian purpose. Ease of processing, the ability to create amazing things from accessible and inexpensive material have elevated plywood to the rank of favorites among many modern fashionable furniture and interior items makers.

You can make any thing from plywood: furniture, boxes, decorations, whatever you have enough imagination and carpentry skills for.

You can make almost anything you want from plywood with your own hands. Even housings are made from moisture-resistant varieties small boats. Plywood trimmed with plastic or expensive wood veneer is used in interiors and as finishing, and for the manufacture of furniture. Durable and cheap, environmentally friendly material is also suitable for making children's toys, design solutions in the design of the garden, boxes for storing food and various small items.

Manufacturing technology

Types of plywood boxes and methods of joining walls.

For the product to serve for a long time and looked quite attractive, you need to know the rules for processing the material from which it will be made. Unlike solid wood, plywood is thin sheets of veneer glued together so that the grain of one layer is perpendicular to the direction of the grain of the other. This allows sheets to be bent in any direction, creating complex shapes. But when sawing across the fibers of the top layer, there is a possibility of damaging it. Therefore, when working with plywood, you need to follow a few simple rules:

  • to prevent cracking of the surface when cutting across the grain, you must first make an incision with a knife along the cut line;
  • Before driving nails or screwing in self-tapping screws, you should drill holes for them;
  • washers must be placed under the caps of fasteners;
  • when gluing the surface, you need to sand it down, apply a uniform layer of glue over the entire surface and ensure uniform compression of the parts being joined;
  • to bend the elements, they are pre-moistened or steamed, after which they are placed in a template and kept in the desired position for at least a day;
  • thin plywood (up to 1.5 mm) is cut sharp knife, sheets up to 6 mm thick are cut with a jigsaw, and thicker ones with a circular saw;
  • the edges of the cut parts may have burrs when cutting at home, which requires processing with a file or grinder.

To make almost any item from plywood you will need a small set of tools:

  • sharp knife, jigsaw with a set of files;
  • drill, set of drills and bits, screwdriver;
  • carpenter's glue or one suitable for working with wood;
  • file, emery cloth;
  • measuring instrument, pencil;
  • fasteners.
